A very handsome man was Jack Lord. I do not think the remake is a patch on the Original and yeah Jack Lord was an Irishman really but was Hawaiian in the end.

Oh and that was his REAL HAIR but they don't make them like that anymore. I love the way Jack Lord turns to the camera. He is one of my fave actors.

That motel where Lord standing, is still open today, called the Illika. I was there in '05. I requested that same top floor suite that the Jack Lord scene was shot on. My girl touched her toes on that same balcony as for an internal massage. While I was in Hawaii, I also visited the Magnum P.I. house and pissed on their lawn. Great trip but I prefer Florida or Bermuda, closer and more to see.
