@MaxHanno The nuns sequence (besides rhyming with buns) is a tribute to Busby Berkley who created all the big musical numbers of that style. Brooks did tributes to him in this film, The Producers, and Blazing Saddles. Plus, it's funny and fun to watch :)

Wow this is pretty wild... My family comes from Spain and was Jewish at the time of the inquisitions. I am Catholic Today, I'm very happy to be Catholic by the way, still have some family members that are Jewish though. The inquisitions are not as black and white as some "experts" would have people believe.

You are partly right
ThoughtfulDiscussion. What we have here is not a correct image of Biblical Christianity, but rather what C.S. Lewis called "Churchianity." Medieval Catholicism, like all Christian denominations, started out on the right foot. Eventually though, it became a dead legalistic form. Whenever that happens you get the Crusades, the Inquisition, Pograms, and the Salem Witch Trials etc. These acts have no model in the New Testament.
