@TheDreamMechanic the Darwin and Huxley families were very close especially in their study of genetics and evolution of course they would link the two in this title PS I'd hardly scientific fact propaganda, if anyone puts out propaganda it's religious fanatics who are concerned more with getting their own way than educating anyone
Just watched the first of the three parts of this miniseries on ABC TV.
Rather disjointed and an uncomfortable cross between drama documentary and talking heads such as Richard Dawkins.
However, the real killer is the soundtrack - repetitive, unpleasant music and - the thing that makes this virtually unwatchable - music that is mixed so loud that the dialogue is almost incomprehensible.
Sack the sound editor, re-lay the track and it would be passable, in a Disney sort of way.
Wow. I liked the additional depth added by the narrator and the talking heads. I guess that if you're trying to follow the story as if it were a movie than you might be bugged by all the intrusions.
And I liked the music. It was there, adding to teh emotional impact, but not interfering. It never thought it was too loud.
This is obviously a fantastic production. Unfortunately, if it ever gets aired in the U.S. it will be on PBS and those who really need to see it won't see it. They will be too busy watching Dancing with the Stars or Survivor or some such dribble.
@RhondaH That's why I stay away from TV. I go online and watch Cosmos, National Geographic, Nova productions, and among other things (even Star Trek). But I hate the unintellectual vomit that's on TV now.
This trailer looks fantastic. Such an interesting angle from which to explore the life and works of Charles Darwin. Can't wait to see it when it goes to air!

It's strange that Darwin never formally studied science and was actually a student of theology.

@Achilles9924
Cause the education at his time is very much comparable to ours. The greatest scientists often were not experts at their area.

Brave New World, eh? Reference: Aldous Huxley. This film is obviously outright propaganda, and should be shunned by the public at large.

Damn, I got goosebumps watching this EPIC trailer, I am sure that the mini-series is going to be equally if not more exciting.
