I do TKD and on the street ill knee you in the balls, elbow you in the spine, punch you everywhere, kick the shit out of your legs, ribs, and gut and slam you on the hard floor with a judo throw, and if i have to, crush your neck my stomping on it while your down. I adapt!!
in the end, its the fighter, not the art, that wins fights. and in that way, all martial arts are as good as any other.

@tmakidd0703 Exactly. For me it depends on the gym and how long you trained in a gym that counts. Like Anderson Silva. He's known for his knees and Round house kicks, but watch the Lee Murray fight and you will see ALOT of TKD techniques being used. Hell he still trains using TKD techniques and uses them in fights.
TKD is very good. 4 years Rhee, 4 years ITF not as good as Rhee. Training and teaching Muay Thai at the moment.
Both are good but i prefer TKD for self defense over MT.

As much as I am not a fan of TaeKwonDo, I can assure you it has its benefits, but I am utterly convinced that Muay Thai is a superior offensive force. TKD is a real martial art. Look at the video, there are attacks, and defenses. It was used by the Korean military, still is. TKD can be used for exhibition, but that is never it's sole purpose. Every good school has to offer more than just 720 degree kicks inorder to sucker in more people.

the muay thai guy sucked. he looks like he learned from an mma gym and then didnt even train enough. the tkd guy has good footwork. if tkd guys knew a thing about footwork like this one they wuldnt lose so much. they have a major speed advantage againts muay thai fighters. but i'll be damned if they finally capitalize on that.

@MMAONRING TaeKwonDo was for attack and defense and it was designed for the Korean Army in training and battle. It was not designed for exhibition. As much as I am not a fan of TaeKwonDo, I can assure you it has its benefits, but I am utterly convinced that Muay Thai is a superior offensive force. Why not film some of your clinch and fights - it's the best way to keep the haters quiet.

@MMAONRING another keyboard warrior with no skills in anything other than trash talking. Bruce Lee created jeet kune do. You have to be a fighter to be able to create a martial art. TKD is a real martial art. Look at the video, there are attacks, and defenses. It was used by the Korean military, still is. TKD can be used for exhibition, but that is never it's sole purpose. Every good school has to offer more than just 720 degree kicks inorder to sucker in more people.

@CENT666 I do both taekwondo and muay thai and bot have strong and weak points but if you mix them is better cuz the strenght abd brutality from muay thai and the pricision and speed and leg hability from taekwondo and the upperbody skills from boxing and wing chun and elbows from muay thai will male you a perfect striker

Hahaha. I've lived and breathed Muay Thai for a period of time now. All i can say is that this "Muay Thai" guy was a shipwreck. Put a real conditioned Muay Thai fighter in there next time! :) He was way too soft.

@MMAONRING id love to see u fight Bren Foster :) and also you are wrong about taekwondo its actually a really old form of martial art, its origin can be tracked far back as to 2,300 years and it was used to fight off neighboring kingdoms. well taekwondo is more then one martial arts combined, there were quite a few martial art school in korea 5 of the major schools combined and made taekwondo.
