  • WOW, you have no fucking clue what the fuck you are talking about.....i found your video by googling his name. I cant imaging you have many people who tune into your blog...Im sure people can get better advice from the bottom of a snapple cap. I was a friend of Jessie. You are so far off the mark, maybe you should kill yourself and then blog about what it was like. I look forward to that video, you fat fucking asshole!

  • @egotripping80 You have an extremely appropriate screen name. With winners like this around who needs other friends?

  • @pitt5truct0r Agreed.

  • I knew Jesse. He blogged on my site. We were friends. I'm more or less an agnostic, so I have no religious horse in this race.

I can state, without reservation, that *you* are the one speculating. To accuse Jesse's dad of using his death to make money is about as low as a person can get. Jesse's dad was absolutely devistated, as were we all. The reasons for his death can be debated, fine. But don't slander a good man for having his own opinions about HIS son's death.

  • This book had a profound affect on Jesse. You can reason that he was depressed & the book just fed into that. I might agree with you. But this book did change him drastically. I know.

Should the book be held responsible? No. I don't think so. No more than Ozzy should have been sued for "Suicide Solution". But his father has every right to point out his beliefs.

  • My biggest problem with this video is that you are forgetting a young man died. A young man with family & friends. I am one of those friends. The least you could do is show a little respect while stating your opinion. Instead, you come off acting like a bottom feeder who is trying to get attention by dancing on a person's grave - and fathers heart. I resent that, and it lessens your opinon. One that I may have generally agreed with if it weren't for all the semantics.

  • Poor form. I hope you never have someone do this to you.

  • @TheGuyPC

They couldn't... I would not use the death of a loved one to propagate a lie and to pad my job.

I am very sorry for your loss.

  • @TheGuyPC I have not forgotten that, it's what the video is about.

  • "These are just words"...

If "words" have no power, then why are you here speaking and why should anyone listen to you in particular?

  • Well stated.

  • The thing that bothers me most about this whole thing is that thousands of people, out of fear and hatred of Atheism are either going to follow the kid's father, whether that means becoming christians, becoming more active ones, ect. I don't have a problem with people becoming christians, the problem with this is that the entire reason behind this is going to be rooted out misunderstanding, hatred, and fear of Atheism. Its terrible.

  • I just read about this article and was instantly annoyed by the whole thing, I'm glad I found this video and your videos, you seem to be an interesting person and your thoughts on the topics I've seen you discuss so far are complete and intelligent.

  • Thank you.

  • even if it WAS what drove the child to killing himself...

fact of the matter was, if their God is really omnipotent, omniscient, perfect, AND created us, then SURELY a simple human book written by a simple human with knowledge of science, would not be able to compete with the logic and arguments provided by people who supposedly SPEAK TO THE OMNIPOTENT OMNISCIENT FUCKING CREATOR!

I'm curious if you think that the argument I just presented is a valid and justified response to claims like this.

  • Sounds like a twilight zone episode. Everyone who reads this book kills themsevles, or the Mouth of Maddness movie. There was a twilight zone where a scientist found out the meaning of life and everyone he told went crazy and killed everyone. At the end they were trying to stop him from going on the radio to broadcast the meaning of life. Tell his dad to read the book see what happens.

  • Exactly. Even if you think it's true that one read the book and then killed themselves, how many have murdered, killed themselves and/or their children because of religious texts.

When presented with those believers just say "the book didn't make them do it"

  • dawkins should be sued like they do the klan if they kill someone after they read thier literture

  • Nothing outside of yourself other than physical force can make you do something.

Those that sue over art and literature are barbaric idiots.

  • so you think the law suits against the klan should be overturned?

  • Depends on the suit, they deserve the same rights all of us do. If we infringe on their freedom of speech it harms us all.

  • I COMPLETELY agree with everything you said.

here's an exert from the worldnetdaily article on this:

"Here's another thing," he continued. "If my son was a professing homosexual, and a professor challenged him to read [a book called] 'Preventing Homosexuality' If my son was gay and [the book] made him feel bad, hopeless, and he killed himself, and that came out in the press, there would be an outcry."

I love the way they revert this tragedy into an attack.

  • People trying to equate books MEANT to make people hate themselves with books meant just to state that some thinking is flawed make me laugh, until they use it in this way.

  • I haven't read Dawkins book, but I did hear him say in video that he didn't value philosophy or read any philosophy books. As an Ayn Rand fan, I think Dawkins is wrong about philosophy. I think if only Jesse had read, "The Fountainhead", maybe he wouldn't have topped himself.

  • He may be like me... after a while it all falls into about four or five camps and just repeats itself so reading any more philosophy is either just ego-stroking, "HA! I already knew that!" or just blowing-off time.

  • Well said ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • Good to have you back ranting - but it's not a rant. It's too articulate to be a rant. Those scary close ups will have that preacher easily convinced that you are the devil incarnate. Keep em coming RK.

  • boo

  • you look a million times better bro. looking forward to your upcoming vids.

  • I'm doing better, thanks.

Yeah.... I really should not have made that video, I was in a lot of pain.

  • excellent videos, man!

  • That is very kind of you, thanks!

  • WOW your married to a republican? LOL My Dad is an Atheist ,and my Mom is a Christian ,,,,married since 1957

  • Well, it's not that big of a stretch. I'm a moderate libertarian.

  • rkzenrage, you nailed it. 5 stars.

  • Something's off about all this. His father isn't exactly an unbiased party, yeah.

  • Strong statements...

    Belief/grief/guilt/blame/outrage etc...

    Volatile mix of issues there.

  • ... & very artfully done.

  • Thank you for that.

  • I don't believe the way this is being spun. 'Man reads Dawkins; suicides' doesn't make sense, clearly there's something else at work here...

His father is bound to spin it. Every suicide is like this; everyone speaks about how happy the victim is right up until death. No-one ever shares the actual problems.
