  • Good question!!!

  • Have published any data/studies?

Is it indicated for blind glaucomatous eyes or as prophylaxis for asymptomatic 2nd eye?

Have you seen scarring obstruction (problem with other implants)

I'm very interested in this option for 6 yr old boston but opthalmologists here (Tidewater Va) are unfamiliar with it.

  • We are working on a publication for our data.

Developed for glaucomatous eyes at this point.

The technology comes from Healionics Corp, designed to reduce scarring.

You can have your veterinary ophthalmologists contact our staff vets and we can discuss options.

  • Yes, it has undergone trials for last two years and recently become available to veterinary ophthalmologists.

Efficacy, as with any product, is variable and often related to type of glaucoma, severity of disease, age, etc.

It is comprised of silicone, a well described inert biomaterial used in numerous medical devices, including those in ophthalmology.

  • Has this gone through trials yet or not?

I'd be happy to spend $4,000 dollars to stop having to put Azopt, Xalatan, and NeoPolyDex in my dog's eyes.

If it works and I don't end up making her completely blind. How effective is this, and how safe is it?
