you know when the horse sat down when it went backwords, thats what happen to someone i know at my riding school(she got off before she hit the ground), um her pony went in the water and then pony just sat down in the water with it's saddle on, and when she got her pony back up, it had mud down it's back leg(and her pony rears as well, like over a stick).

A horse throwing itself is saying 'I am ready to die if need be'. A horse laying itself on the ground is saying 'well if I can survive this, life might not be so bad after all'... hahaha Hope you make it to TRTTH. I am tired of seeing just 'cowboys'. (or the wanna be cowboys) I also like it when you just use a bareback pad, and the safety gear!

Hubby wants a hand getting our TBs fitted back up after their winter off, and asked if I'd jog a few, but the 6 year old red head is scared to death of the cows :o( Not looking forward to that. Maybe I'll just leave her to him :o)

I take a few breakers and schooling liveries but thankfully we don't get many that are quite as feisty as some of yours! Presumably a lot of these horses arrive with problems from Oz; I can't see you having battles with unspoilt horses. Where do you hail from?

LOL, I was being nosey and wondering whereabouts in Sydney (my home town though I've been in England for 25 years and miss the beaches!) Fascinated with the 'lying down' approach - I do much the same things with my foals when they're born (without putting weight on, on course)and they're very easy to back compared to ones that come in without the early handling. Does it speed up the process considerably with ones that are very nervous?
When I 1st watched this videoI thought the horse was being naughty and throwing itself on the ground(Blush).I have one that does to get out of work...so I don't know why people would think its cruel for you to put them on the ground to save their lives.:)
My tb mare does what the one at 2:16 does.. what would u suggest to stop her. shes just getting over a 4 months stall rest for a suspensory injury and i dont want her to hurt herself. ive tried all i know to get her to stop.

It won`t a secret for much longer, I have a DVD on it coming out that will explain how it`s done because words just don`t do it justice, you have to see it. The other option is trying to do it and have your hoorse look at you funny for an hour..
