Holy shit. You've NEVER seen SVU? Yes they got new partners for about three months or so. If you're going to watch, start with the season seven eps - Fault, Fat, and Webb. Then skip forward to S8's Infiltrated, Choreographed, and Burned. Those are the heart of EO shippiness. The series doesn't have much for fans to go on, but we persevere in the knowledge that they are in love, and Kathy will soon be in the distant past (El's wife of right now).

They only temporarily get new partners. But if you start the show, don't start with the Trilogy because just jumping in won't allow you to appreciate WHY those episodes are so important. I would personally recommend starting with season 1. It really shows the foundation of their relationship but through the season they do work on amazing cases and have great "character" eps along the way. EOness really starts when El's wife leaves him in season 6. But it's great to watch the development. XD
