  • @Smithie2012 sure you can play in any key, but not perfectly in tune :p

  • He may be good, but the sound quality of this clip makes it not worth listening to. If he had done it in the quiet of his lounge at home, it wouldn have been much better.

  • Tubas come in all differnt shapes sizes pitches and to answer your question differnt styles of valves and valve placements and number of valves. I suggest doing a little research on your own :)

Best of wishes from a fellow tuba player

  • That was great.....Just have one piece of advice.......could you play with more oom and less pa please. lol

  • awesome but its hard to hear cause he's in a train station or something

  • carnival of venice?

  • can any one help me find this sheet music i can only find it in the key of f and i need the BBb version

  • I cant play that half as well as he can i have the music though it looks friggin ridiculous

  • Nice tonging. I used to play tuba. That was the solo I played at solo and ensemble and got a 1 on. I didn't double tongue it or anything though...great job!

  • Good job, but the background was oo noisey.

  • What is that horn??

  • From this angle it looks like a 6/4 Kalison CC. It would either be a model 2000 or 2001. The leadpipe does look like it has been changed...

  • my tuba was made in germany, too... i´m german

  • Demasiado ruido de fondo. Ese ruido horrible de fondo lo estropea todo.

  • that was one big tuba^^

  • my tuba was made in the czech republic :)

  • my tuba was made in germany :)

  • ahhh.. teach me.. i need help in double/triple tounging... anyone... please help!

  • this is true.

  • thats really sweet!

  • I play tuba, but my double tounging is way to sloppy to go that fast yet, i'm only a freshman, though, and i'm the section leader.

  • high school or college?

  • my teacher told me, if i want to improve my double tounging, when yore on your way to school, work, waiting on a bus, on youre way over to a friends house, pretend youre a train, and pernounse this sound "tchjuku", start slow, and then faster and faster, and then on the mouth piece, and then the tuba

  • Tuba's used most of the time to add weight to the texture of most ensembles.

Love his double tonguing. The 1st minute is sloppy lol. Gets even better as it goes on, so 4ward it if ur not impressed!

I will be better than him one day! fingers Xd!

The seems like in a break of a rehearsal, not sure he's even warmed up 2 begin with!

when he's on form I bet he's genius!

  • I know, it's a matter of trainging. Tuba is used to keep tempo and trumpet is just the pretty sounding melody that gose along with it. So a tuba dosen't ever play as fast as a trumpet usually dose. And besides, even they they both have three keys, a trumpet is designed to a melody/soloits intrument. It's just built to sound that way.

  • I've checked with a Chicago tuba player of some repute. He has assured me that this is Micky Wrobleski, who is currently playing in Beijing. Micky played TubaChristmas with the ensemble one year at the Woodstock Opera House in Illinois. He played every note of the concert one octave lower than written. He's an amazing musician.

  • tht lead pipe goes straight out

  • All I've seen you do is brag how good you are and then you don't know that the proper trill would be to a C w/ 1. You are in no form better

  • solo pomposo is easy, I played that before I played C of V.

  • you're absolutley right, it's a piece of paper. What comes out of the horn is music and this guy does it right.

  • sorry, that comment was for tat89815

  • ah, the typical sound of warm-up room .... not being able to hear anything

  • could you give me any tips on perfecting or improving my double tounging??? It would be greatly appreciated.

  • pretty good in certain areas. most of the time it sounded like jibberish. couldnt tell what you were playing half the time cause of the dumb percussionists in the background.

  • hey, Ive played that before and it is an extreamley hard version for double tounging and other stuff so he is quite skilled... He has a great tone and clear, except for the background noise... what model is that tuba?

  • yeah right! no one would play in state!! you can probably play that song but i bet it doesnt sound that good.

  • OMG practice im a freshman in highschool, and played that for STATE, easiest song ive played in a while!

  • /sarcasm

  • sure, it probably sounded like slop, listen to oystein Baadsvicks recording. So, are you the son of a professional tubist, because ive never heard of you

  • not to bad... much sound from others tho :(

  • i'm better than you

  • i dought that you bastard

  • What a strange facing leadpipe on that horn. Great playing! Too bad the sound of the convention was so loud in its interference.

  • That was great! I can't tounge for my life.

  • Man, I have that on paper, didn't even get to the 4th variation, and definately not that fast!! You rock

  • omg!this guy is amazing!

  • you`r really good! but you should film one time home on your practise room, instead of let us hear al that mess from the other ones in the room.

  • OMG that was superb!!!

  • yet, he needed the printed music for "Venice"?? sort of lame if you ask me.

  • u obviously ddnt stay to listen to the...VARIATIONs.

  • this guy was member of Chicago civic , now works in China

  • kick ass XDD

  • thats some intense tuba playing, i wanna be in a professional orchestra someday but do you need to be this good?

  • nice clean playing, even throughout all that noise in the background

  • i must say again... its gunna be along time before i can get close to this good

  • couldn't hear his either with all that fucking noise in the background...oh, you didn't think?

  • umm, turn the volume up? obviously you dont use enough common sense to turn up your volume if you want to hear him play.

and if its so yawn, post a video up of you playing something better

  • yawn

  • he's crazy good lol

  • thats just deadly

  • SWEETNESS XD
