why dont u shut up man he said he just learned it so leave him be its just a tribute hes not playing in live concert or anything its good hes even doing a tribute to him he was a great rocker for boston and this guy cares alot about him so shut up ok and let him do his job
I really want to say, this by far is my favorite cover I've seen of my favorite song. You really added soul and style to this, everyone else just seems to *play* the song...you add so much emotion and style to this song that it makes it "more then a feeling". Keep doing what you do, thanks for letting this live on! An awesome tribute brotha, its whats its all about.
dude i love your rendition of this. its really impressive and gives a whole new voice to this song, without straying from the original too much. to me it sounds kinda like boston with a mix of pop and folk.. or something close to that. really nice though, 5 stars. nice voice also man, im jealous
chaseyboi........cheeseyboi .what the fuck....you fucked the song up plain and simple..and should be ashamed for fucking up a classic....but i can see your a young know it all.who doesnt know shit about boston...but i tell ya what .use it on stage as a comedy act .....you goofy fuck
See alot of people on the net trying to copy note-for-note and sounding like mess. I am sure you got this already, but you did a great job of catching the spirit of the song while at the same time making it your own.
um its the same song you fuck off!!!! it doesnt matter what fucking key its in!!! god why dont you post a video of a cover of this song and see if you can fucking do better!!!!
Okay... So I've been watching your video over and over again for a few days. I really like your version of this classic. The best part of it is that you seem to be having a great time just chillin' with the dog. This was a great find. You made my weekend! Great job.
Fuckin' brilliant job with this! Not many people can hit the high notes like the original and you did a great job adjusting. Way to take a song and make it your own!
I'm not even going to lie. I could listen to this all day. You should post some tabs, because I'd really like to learn to play it this way. Hey, that rhymed.
Now,you are not only fun to watch on this video but you are smart enough to know your vocal limits. And this being a very difficult song to sing anyway,(I know,my old cover band did it twice a week for 3 years and me as the singer would dread it coming on the set list)but you made it your own and used your own very nice singing voice to let it flow.Nice job dude,I'm impressed and glad to see someone on you tube gets it.
I learned the song the day I recorded it and so yes there are many blunders. A big part of me wants to post a new one but then another big part of me says "dude, stop taking yourself so fucking seriously". The latter dude wins.
Yes, I hear you. I had just learned it and threw it up here and have always been self conscious about it. One day I'll do it over if I ever get around to it. I know the song very well on guitar now.
i just read the story of brad delp's death while listening to you play this song. i must tell you, i was moved. thank you. he was such a nice guy that he warned the police of CO in his suicide note. they found him lying on a pillow. i suppose even in death, he treated himself & other people with gentle grace. what a goddamned shame: assholes like the gallagher brothers are still around but a nice guy is a prisoner to his own sadness...
i supppose youre right but i will share my opinion w/you in 2 parts (if you'll listen) my only problem is that delp's sound was informed by american folk music, rock & roll from the '50s, perhaps french jazz & people who were almost his comtemporaries. 20 to 30yrs later, along comes Oasis who play a sound that's brand new & original but familiar too. they had the advantage of being informed by delp & his comtemporaries. i guess im trying to say that the term genuis is overused in my opinion.
oasis had the advantage of a blues/jazz movement that had to go across the atlantic to survive. in many ways it was almost undisturbed by american media & commerce. Oasis had that advantage & as well the advantage of being born later. theyre good because they learned from the best. the best were good because they had to create from next to nothing....
...my only other problem is that those gallagher brothers have an unreasonable contempt for americans. we are considered too gauche to 'get' their music. but the american ethic in many ways helped shape their sound. in addition, ive read some borderline racist comments come from liam. this has little to do with brad delp except that he had to die because his sadness overcame him. those other cats are just plain cantankerous if you ask me. (i know that you didnt but thanx for hearing me out)
i dont think that's a compliment. i just share how i see. you dont have to read if you dont wanna. but i suppose you felt compelled. so i'll bite: if pontification is to drone on pompously or dogmaticly, at what point did i carry on arrogantly? for that matter when did i write something incongruent or flat out un true?
Ha! That just shows why I will never be a journalist. I didn't realize the negative connotation and instead always thought that "pontification" was the act of expressing points. No harm meant. Just chalk it up to me being a dink. Sorry man.
hey bro. youre no dink or dick or whatever. my understanding of the term meant that i may have carried on like a pontiff (in dogma but not real thoughts). as a pilgrim, i just asked if i came on too strong. delp as SO COOL & i reckon that many cats are NOT COOL (in MY OWN ESTIMATION) so im just asking what you think... please share with me. i wont ever think that im always right but i will think that what im saying is 'informed'. dont run away; let's talk about it. please.
i truly welcome any differing or adjucnt ideas because i dont know everything. shit, i dont know anything. WHAT DO YOU THINK? c'mon, im lookin' listenin; & learnin'. frampton said "show me your way"...
i have no idea what you meant about the fuckups because in true musicians' form, you played right through them, for that matter you hit the note again as if on purpose. lol. i missed the clouds but it must be cool to live that near water. you have a very good voice & ear, i like this interpretation esp. the capo use. good shit
I appreciate that. But really I always feel like I need to repost this. I did this when I just first learned the song and so there's a bunch of screw ups but I suppose what-the-hell-ever
by the way, I just checked out your cover of Ronan and man I was impressed. Nice work. You need to start playing out infront of people more often. I do quite a bit and there's nothing like it really. good luck

People, don't you realize that this guy knows that the song is played without a capo, but he is using one because that's where he's comfortable singing it, duh.
Great job! This song is usually played without a capo (using the the same chord shapes (if that makes sense)) and I was going to say a negative comment about using a capo, but then I realized it was to accommodate your voice range, so VERY well done.
Chris - It's been a while since you posted anything new. Get hoppin. I want something else as magical as this song.

Great job! This song is usually played without a capo (using the the same chord shapes (if that makes sense)) and I was going to say a negative comment about using a capo, but then I realized it was to accommodate your voice range, so VERY well done.
