  • look at the picture carefully guys... the arrows corresponding to A, B, C, D, E are not -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 respectively.

    A = -2

    B= -1.2ish

    C= 0

    D= 1.2ish

    E= 1.8ish

    therefore, A and only A is the right answer like the book says because A is furthest away from 0. I promise Dr. Khan!

  • how can u be sure its 1.8..... im prety sure the book made a mistake

  • yes the diagram for question 20 is wrong e is less than 2 a little bit before 2 while going for -2 gives the greatest answer which is correct choice

  • Problem 20 has a typo in the book. The teacher's edition has and arrow pointing to a point on the line as an answer option. But yes, without that arrow the answer could be -2 or 2.

  • Pl refer to question 21. May I suggest following. For an odd integer to be expressed as sum of two prime number, one of them must be 2. Reason is that 2 is only even prime no. and sum of even + odd integer results in odd no. Therefore choice E i.e. 23 should be equated ONLY as 2 + 21. Since 21 is not a prime number, 23 can not be expressed as sum of two prime numbers. I suggest sequence of choice evaluation should be to evaluate all choices which are odd numbers.Keep choice with even no. as last

  • Diagram wrong on question 20 ...the number line has no negatives, and E is closer to 0 than A....look carefully.....but thanks for all your help anyway ^ & ^

  • After looking at the diagram in the book it looks like E is less than 2 and D is slightly more than one. A is exactly -2 so the answer is A.

  • the diagram for ques 20 is wrong....A is the answer....E is less than 1
