  • Eric Clapton is a legend. If you disagree, you're either delusional or joking.

  • I think musicians like Clapton are angels created by God to entertain the normal population(us)

  • Music just can't get much better than that.

  • Loooooooooooooooove it so much <3

  • does anyone know which concert this is?

  • @Chillipeppere3r3243 It was a charity concert for his anti drog center,I think it was in New York,he played with his guests(Bob Dylan,Mary Y. Blige,Sheryl Crow). It's a great concert I have it on cd

  • could someone tell me the names of songs like this one: slow, easy, calm...?

  • @bauda123 I'd call it bluesy ^^

  • God.. this song is so emotional. I feel what Clapton is feeling. If I had one wish, I would just like to sit and jam with him. Amazing man, amazing musician, amazing storyteller.

  • The Game, Athina

  • that's really music!!!

  • "Lord, how long do I gotta' keep on runnin...?" That anyone has the need, and yet still posseses the Will, to ask the question... surely That is Enough to earn whatever Salvation anyone could ever hope for In this Life, or any Life still to come. Thanks for the Reminder. -M.

  • As a musician and singer Clapton is the closest to perfection you will ever see.

  • @harataikiphilosopher... good one! Actually I wish I could hold you one more time to ease the pain.

  • Such a beautiful, deep song, and a truly amazing performance by some of the best musicians in the world. I can't stop watching this video.

  • From wich DVD is this?

  • @KarinGuitars Eric Clapton and friends in Concert taped live at Madison square garden new York , a benefit for the Crossroads centre at antigua.

  • What emotion from one of the greats....almost a 50 year career....THIS IS THE SH$T.

  • is a beautiful song

  • I love Eric Clapton. He stamps a particular feeling on the guitar, it has a very clean and characteristic sound that makes you recognize from the first chord.

  • Alguien me puede decir que dvd es este?

  • Es de lo mejor de la musica en inglés,,,,,simplemente de lo mejor

  • one of the best emotional performances.

i literally drown in my own tears.

  • this song gives me chills

  • One of these heartbreaking guitar solos that driving me insane!!! And Steve Gadd is a hero!

  • so wut exactly does "slow hand" mean?

  • @darkiller00789 Wel because clapton has his one style of playing, and sometimes the snares broke in a song.. then the song stopped and he replaced the snares while the odience SLOWLY claps their HANDS.. Thats how he got the nickname SLOWHAND ;)

  • @109296 what does a broken snare and a unique play style have to do with slowly clapping?

  • @NicktheLP Nothing.. but thats just what the audience did, and because of that he got his nickname slowhand ;)

  • @darkiller00789 means "None-Fast Hand" , Kapish?

  • Never fails to bring tears to my eyes.. drowning drowning in tears..

  • @djlun45 Yes, ""Clapton Chronicles: The Best Of Eric Clapton That's the one you need to find

  • @Scorp9681 Personly i find this the best version from the DVD i have it on cd as well.

  • can anyone tell me if this version was released on a cd i can buy? or perhaps a dvd? Many thanks in advance =]

  • plays from the hart

  • The most difficult thing for any musician is to transmit emotions. You can practice a lot and be very fast and clean, but you have to feel what you play for your listeners to feel it as well. Clapton does it wonderfully.

  • @anthiondel Yes! I totally agree with you. Our dear Mister Clapton got a lot of sensuality, simpathy and talent. Everything is excellent in him : guitar playing, voice( !!!!!!!! ), songwrighting. Long Live Eric!

  • @anthiondel you just...............cking good.

  • @anthiondel when clapton plays that song I feel his emotions,, it is all writtien all over his face, and travels through him.

they say to become the best, you need to become part of your instrament and transferre emotions that way, like speaking or cry,, hes amazing

  • I LOVE you Eric, you live in my soul, your music breathes, emotion and passion! Thank you, for ALL, of your GREAT, AMAZING TALENT! Our lives have paralleled!

  • 1777/17

  • @AshStrat1...I'm sick of people like you who come on to an artist upload just to trash talk them. You don't like Clapton, don't come here. I suppose YOUR the guitar player who could do this band justice. Keep imagining, if that's all you can do. Jag-off.

  • @Tapiola2007 BARTENDER.....GET THIS MUSIC CRITIC A DRINK ON ME.......BETTER MAKE IT A DOUBLE !!

  • In claptons case he has no choice , in 40 years he does not seems to have moved on from albert kings last solo , pity such a good band , i can only imagine what they would sound like with a guitar player that can do them justice .

  • @AshStrat1

Jag Off..or Jog On...whichever you like...failing that...put up a video showing us how well you can play guitar.

  • Not Clapton's finest solo at the end - felt more like a series of unconnected ideas. However, he is the master of phrasing in blues/rock guitar. People talk a lot of rubbish about this guitarist and that one and never know what they mean. EC is not the technically best, fastest, most original but he makes it sing. When he's on his game, the music is transcedent.

  • @Tapiola2007 True. He has a nerve between his soul and fingers

  • My dads favorite song :)

  • Only Peter Green comes close to Eric when it comes to channelling emotion through a guitar, and only a someone who has had the pain Clapton has endured could possibly hope to replicate this emotion the way he does.

Great to see Andy Fairweather-Low on guitar again.

  • @LordElpus1000 Nope...there is one better, I promise you Andy Latimer, CAMEL...watch 'Stationary Traveller' PLEASE!!!

  • I like watching Clapton at the end sharing that little grin with Nathan East and then Nathan begins clapping and says "yea man".... he knew it was a special version of a great song.

  • que cancion tan espectacular!!!

  • He plays with such feeling. JP

    JBP.Southcoastblues//.myspace.com

  • when l listen .. feel me good ,,l love

  • Watching her toss her life away with this dirt bag is more then I can stand. Guess good guys do finish last. Good luck Kate!

  • I know she will not see this that is just the way it is, I have done a lot in my life that hurts, however falling in love with Kate tops it. This song tells it all why I need to move from Kansas City to get past the pain. Words cannot describe the pain of her not feeling the same way I do. Thanks Eric for this song.

  • Shot and a beer...please.

  • @l2string by the end of the track, I'm guessing your running from the bar in disgrace?

  • @l2string One Bourbon, One Scotch and a beer comes to mind....

  • @desertdoggz..yuuuppp...even chuck bery, pete townsend, santana down they knees to eric clapton..

  • you may dance when you see lady gaga, beiber, bruno mars..but when you hear clapton you'll just stand and feels how he play deeply then you'll heard the music not from your ear but straight from your heart.....

  • Steve Gadd on drums!!!!!!!!

  • GOD MASTER Almighty CLAPTON!!!!

    That's it.

  • Muito Bom!!!!!!!

  • A stage full of legends!!

    Thanks.

  • we lost 2 family mambers this day 9/14/2011- 13yrs. ago ,i know this was written thru his soul from his own tragic loss,we thank you so much for this song eric you have touched so many hearts and souls with this one brother thank you so much,ROCK-ON BRO!

  • Could anyone please tell me where could I buy or download the DVD of this concert, I've been looking for it all over the internet, I'd love to have that on the TV in HD!

  • @Arzen5 go to amazon.com and type "Eric Clapton & Friends in Concert", you will find the DVD

  • I have no words to say how Eris clapton is wonderful ! He is simply my GOD.

  • Eric, I LOVE YOU!!!!:)

  • in GOD we trust !! Clapton is my God !!!

  • It's Wonderful ! Simply Wonderful ! I Love Eric Clapton Gooood !!!

  • Give a little bit to the drummer....Steve Gadd !

  • the lace sensors to me sound so much better than the Vintage noiseless in his strats now .....they dont sound bad ..just the LS's sound more soulful to my ears !!He puts so much emotion in each note ...like Robin Trower does !!!..

  • @gregorylee888 Right! LSs with active electronics give a fantastic sound..powerful, clear with sustain for EVER!! Waaaay better than the darker and low output vintage noiseless...

  • Floppy is right, there is only ONE man!

Love you Eric, you're the best

  • "I wish that I could hold you

    One more time to ease the pain". A m a z i n g!

  • Amazing, This almost brought me to tears... Literally.... What a recognizable song to anyone who loves blues, even just to know this is one of the best kinds of music known to man.. Of course, noone can withstand Eric's Harmonizing Echoes without tearing, or smiling. :) May your son Rest In Peace Eric!

  • whenever you fall in love, or apart, that song fits

  • I can remember the first time I heard this song. Great song

  • Anybody know where this concert was?

  • @dominiccheok At Madison Square Garden, New York City in 1999. Great concert!

  • Prodigy. Legend. REAL artist. This is Eric Clapton! ;)

  • Omg that guitar......

  • Eric Clapton is still perfecting the blues...playing the blues as a white musician. I think he's as close as possible, yet never perfect in his own eyes.

  • 0:30-1:48 is that guitar singing? cause man, i can hear it

  • @davepegleg: Why don't you tell us Dave?

  • All the soul it's going 4 this river.

  • Much more bluesier than the studio version, i find it dilutes the emotion somewhat. I prefer the studio version.

  • EC, consummate blues man. still guitar god.

  • what a grooveeee! what a feeling!

  • Get rid of your clothes, hang a smile at your face and let's jump in the river dear, let's swim in the river of tears!

  • моя любимая вещь!!!

  • so many think playing fast is hard.. which it can be when done well.. but many dont realise how difficult is it to play slow like this.. keeping it simple, no wasted notes.. what you leave out as they say.. takes on another dimension

  • @JOHNNYG99X Couldnt agree more mate! anyone can play music like this but making it original and emotional is the real skill behind the notes! Id rather play with emotion and soul than being able to shred on the neck

  • how many people really know what this song is all about?

  • He is crying with his guitar and is beating hammer of sorrow to my chest

  • EC at his very best. What an absolutely beautiful piece of understated playing, and the most gorgeous melody. Still God

  • Can't stop hitting the replay button. By the way, I love the new ways people think of how to tell people that they are wrong for disliking stuff... "8 people drowned in a river of tears..." hahaha amazing. Keep it up.

  • he's AMAZING

  • I agree with what B.B. King said, Clapton is....the greatest guitar player he ever heard!

  • that guitar cut my soul in two

  • so so lovely song

  • @mofetter....your one of thousands who have been listening to only his mainstream hits and have never flipped the record over and heard what else this man hav done. The "Pilgrim" CD is a prime example of songs that are great yet unheard by most. Expand your horizons and explore the rest of what Clapton has to offer, you'll find a new world of music you never knew exsisted. Listen to the space 'between the TICK and TOCK'

  • YEP. this is IT! love it!!!

  • From the movie "Dancing At The Blue Iguana"

    Great performance from Eric Clapton....

    Love this song.

  • I had never heard this song by Clapton before. He does not stop amazing me ... and I've been hearing Clapton for at least 35 yeasrs... How much more feel and blues can you put in a song? Fantastic !

  • Oh my God, You can feel his pain through this music.

  • INCREDIBLE !!!

  • tuch my heart deep

  • amazing..

  • Clapton is not God.He is a talented man with a lot of talent and a lot of pain.

  • @garebear1015 AMEN, and how fortunate for us that he can convey it to us. Wow, just WOW.

  • @garebear1015 Clapton is god
