@Chillipeppere3r3243 It was a charity concert for his anti drog center,I think it was in New York,he played with his guests(Bob Dylan,Mary Y. Blige,Sheryl Crow). It's a great concert I have it on cd
God.. this song is so emotional. I feel what Clapton is feeling. If I had one wish, I would just like to sit and jam with him. Amazing man, amazing musician, amazing storyteller.
"Lord, how long do I gotta' keep on runnin...?" That anyone has the need, and yet still posseses the Will, to ask the question... surely That is Enough to earn whatever Salvation anyone could ever hope for In this Life, or any Life still to come. Thanks for the Reminder. -M.
je ne me lasserai jamais de cette chanson,Clapton est un geant.j ai fait connaitre cette belle musique a ma fiancee ,elle a vite aimé.nous sommes marié et on ecoute encore Clapton.
I love Eric Clapton. He stamps a particular feeling on the guitar, it has a very clean and characteristic sound that makes you recognize from the first chord.
@darkiller00789 Wel because clapton has his one style of playing, and sometimes the snares broke in a song.. then the song stopped and he replaced the snares while the odience SLOWLY claps their HANDS.. Thats how he got the nickname SLOWHAND ;)
The most difficult thing for any musician is to transmit emotions. You can practice a lot and be very fast and clean, but you have to feel what you play for your listeners to feel it as well. Clapton does it wonderfully.
@anthiondel Yes! I totally agree with you. Our dear Mister Clapton got a lot of sensuality, simpathy and talent. Everything is excellent in him : guitar playing, voice( !!!!!!!! ), songwrighting. Long Live Eric!
I LOVE you Eric, you live in my soul, your music breathes, emotion and passion! Thank you, for ALL, of your GREAT, AMAZING TALENT! Our lives have paralleled!
@AshStrat1...I'm sick of people like you who come on to an artist upload just to trash talk them. You don't like Clapton, don't come here. I suppose YOUR the guitar player who could do this band justice. Keep imagining, if that's all you can do. Jag-off.
In claptons case he has no choice , in 40 years he does not seems to have moved on from albert kings last solo , pity such a good band , i can only imagine what they would sound like with a guitar player that can do them justice .
Not Clapton's finest solo at the end - felt more like a series of unconnected ideas. However, he is the master of phrasing in blues/rock guitar. People talk a lot of rubbish about this guitarist and that one and never know what they mean. EC is not the technically best, fastest, most original but he makes it sing. When he's on his game, the music is transcedent.
Only Peter Green comes close to Eric when it comes to channelling emotion through a guitar, and only a someone who has had the pain Clapton has endured could possibly hope to replicate this emotion the way he does.
Great to see Andy Fairweather-Low on guitar again.
I like watching Clapton at the end sharing that little grin with Nathan East and then Nathan begins clapping and says "yea man".... he knew it was a special version of a great song.
I know she will not see this that is just the way it is, I have done a lot in my life that hurts, however falling in love with Kate tops it. This song tells it all why I need to move from Kansas City to get past the pain. Words cannot describe the pain of her not feeling the same way I do. Thanks Eric for this song.
you may dance when you see lady gaga, beiber, bruno mars..but when you hear clapton you'll just stand and feels how he play deeply then you'll heard the music not from your ear but straight from your heart.....
we lost 2 family mambers this day 9/14/2011- 13yrs. ago ,i know this was written thru his soul from his own tragic loss,we thank you so much for this song eric you have touched so many hearts and souls with this one brother thank you so much,ROCK-ON BRO!
Could anyone please tell me where could I buy or download the DVD of this concert, I've been looking for it all over the internet, I'd love to have that on the TV in HD!
the lace sensors to me sound so much better than the Vintage noiseless in his strats now .....they dont sound bad ..just the LS's sound more soulful to my ears !!He puts so much emotion in each note ...like Robin Trower does !!!..
@gregorylee888 Right! LSs with active electronics give a fantastic sound..powerful, clear with sustain for EVER!! Waaaay better than the darker and low output vintage noiseless...
Amazing, This almost brought me to tears... Literally.... What a recognizable song to anyone who loves blues, even just to know this is one of the best kinds of music known to man.. Of course, noone can withstand Eric's Harmonizing Echoes without tearing, or smiling. :) May your son Rest In Peace Eric!
Eric Clapton is still perfecting the blues...playing the blues as a white musician. I think he's as close as possible, yet never perfect in his own eyes.
so many think playing fast is hard.. which it can be when done well.. but many dont realise how difficult is it to play slow like this.. keeping it simple, no wasted notes.. what you leave out as they say.. takes on another dimension
@JOHNNYG99X Couldnt agree more mate! anyone can play music like this but making it original and emotional is the real skill behind the notes! Id rather play with emotion and soul than being able to shred on the neck
Can't stop hitting the replay button. By the way, I love the new ways people think of how to tell people that they are wrong for disliking stuff... "8 people drowned in a river of tears..." hahaha amazing. Keep it up.
