  • I highly doubt they make you do that..

  • wtf do you want to break your ankle child?!!

  • I cant watch this, im scared for you

  • I don't think she should be doing this either but i also don't think she needs to be on real pointe shoes until she knows how or a pro dance teacher says she can.

  • Dont worry so much about getting up and staying up u have that covered worry more about lifting ur heels and arches

  • i hope u know those are extremely dangerous.. and that if you continue using those horrible tools that u can damage your foot then kiss your pointe dreams goodbye.. put them down and never pick those up again n tell whom ever gave those to you that they are extremely dangerous ! you are talented .. very talented don't risk losing your dreams :D

  • are you kidding me! That is so amazing dangerous! get some pre-pointe shoes and practice the demi work in those or be fitted for real pointe shoes and do some basic barre work with them. Do some research for yourself before the teacher has you hurt yourself. My favorite source for information is Finis Jhung, he's very informative and ask other teachers. Yours is going to hurt you this way!

  • Omg if a teacher has told you to do this she should be FIRED. this is dangerous not only for your feet and ankles but for your back. You are going on to point with no actual support.. YOU CRAZY PEOPLE! get some point shoes.. or dont do point work at all! silly girl.

  • Oh my gosh stop before you break your foot!

  • if u bend ur knees while does this, the middle part of ur foot will go SNAP!

  • you have to improve your arch a bit more, you coul use a theraband and search for some exercises, point and flex exercises would also be helpful :) I must say i have never seen those things that you have in your feet before but be careful, i'm not sure if you're doing it right because it seems like your feet is going to break in any moment. Other useful thing you could do is getting your toes under that space between a wardrobe, for example, and the floor with you legs straight and stay there :)

  • wow...Who Ever Told You To Do This Is Insane!!!

  • wat`s it in your feet?

  • HOLY CRAP WE ALL KNOW ITS "DANGEROUS" TELL ME SOMETHING I DONT KNOW

  • @THEUNKNOWNCHICS The only place where Latin is still officially used is Vatican City, which is actually its own state within another. The Pope reads the bible in Latin.

If you happened to know all that, I'm learning French and I enjoy science and English (language and literature).

    Your welcome :)

  • @kragier Lol. FINALLY

  • i felt like your ankle was going to snap at any moment.

i'm 12, and i've been on pointe 3 months. this is just insane.

your teacher is obviously on crack.. or crazy at the least.

  • ahhh i understandd this is pre pointe but tht seems the same a pointe shoes just no support this is really dangeroues even thou ur studio allows in please be careful

  • holy hell there are other ways to prepare you for pointe shit

  • your arch will drop because you don't have arch support. and i bet you dont have

a ballet teacher you made thoes your self

  • Stop with the negative comments, guys, it's what she was told to do.

You need to stop doing this 'strenghthening method' use a THERA BAND. You're going to break something, and never go on pointe. use a thera band, and releves and spell the alphabet with your foot to strengthen it. not this.

  • Your an iodiot....you could have damaged your feet and ankle....your no dancer...your just a naive dense little girl

  • I seriously doubt they make you use that before pointe in your studio. You are a liar who wants to do pointe but has been told "No" so you decide to risk an injury over stupid fake pointe shoes. Nice try.

  • Any certified teacher would not support this method. I showed this to my ballet teacher and she couldn't watch all of it because she said it looked lke your ankles were going to snap at any minute..

  • Switch studios this method is not a good one at all!

  • I Hope u break ur ankle just for trying this!

  • I don´t think you do this in your studio. You just can´t wait to go on point!

  • as if...

  • this is very dangerous!!!!! stop it tell your teacher!!!!!!!!!!just stop doing it!!!!!!!!

  • that is so bas for your feet. it looks like you made those out of duct tape. STOP USING THEM. theyre going to damage your feet before you even get to pointe. :o

  • Wow this is terrible. And a very bad studio. I cringed the whole time. Oh my gosh. Whoever told you to do this should be fired.

  • roll down u will hurt yourself really bad and it very dangerous

  • you will damage your feet :O that is very bad for your feet :O very dangerous. id consider just working on your feet for pointe without using those blocks of wood-plaster things. stop :O

  • teehee, they look like theyre made from black masking tape, are they made of something similar?x

  • DUCK TAPE?

  • WTF?!?!?!you should really go and attend classes at a REAL ballet school!!

  • Comment removed

  • Im sorry, thats just really stupid

  • u can tear a muscle are you crazy?

  • what the hell are those thingz made of??

  • Duct tape?!?!? No arch support. Injury waiting to happen. Ditch it and get some real pointe shoes before you break an ankle!!! like if you agree.

  • @TheSweetpea24 SHE SAID read the discripition!!! and they are Pre Pointe shoes!!! some dance studios do it most dont!

  • that is probably the worst thing to do EVER especially when you are just starting out that little thing gives you absolutely no support what so ever. going out and buying point shoes would be the safest thing to do.

  • I know this video is under 2 years old now but I hope you've stopped using them!

  • And, to be on pointe, you don't just need a box, YOU NEED A SHANK, to support your feet. My constructive criticism is, go to a new ballet school.

sorry, but i'm voting thumbs down..

  • Switch studios !! :( This is bad for ANYONE'S foot, strong enough or not

  • woah were did u get those shoes??

  • @KayKamilian you call those 'shoes'?

  • This is the dumbest shit ive ever seen in my life. That has to be punishment

  • Dude do u even notice u have ruined your arch uhm is that electrical tape switch a studio

  • Your dumb

  • Omg that looks really dangerous! Since you weren't wearing pointe shoes in this vid you should always practice going up and down through demi pointe. Don't feel rushed about going on pointe you will get there when your strong enough.

  • I would not go to this studio.....they are ruining your feet! I kno you hear that alot but its true....if you need help with pointe, you should probably use demi pointe shoes and terabands and stuff....not that....

  • @dancinggirl0420 i meant:therabands

  • I just cried... please no more.

  • You can't pull yourself up correctly onto pointe, i can already see you've ruined your arches. Not good, move to a different studio

  • you´re gonna get hurt if you keep doing that...

  • This is like dancing in pointe shoes with no shank ! That is soooooo bad for your feet it is unreal ! You could get injured very easily !

  • so bad for your feet! no support for your arches... if you had support you might have strong enough feet... dont do this to your feet!

  • thats tape..

  • i am on pointe im 14 and watching this video makes me very nervour for this young girl, not only broken bones but yopu can permentally mess up your feet with these methods of practice i suggest you stop and reevaluate the teaching skills and your studio. demi pointe is an important posittion and that only one thing i noticed please help your self by stopping this

  • this is soooo dangerous. do you want a broken ankle?

  • yes you have no support for your arches. you need to switch schools asap!!!

  • I myself have never danced en pointe, but I can tell that this is a HORRIBLE way to practice. At 0:41, you...(I don't really know what yo call it) but you "break down" and fall out of pointe. I can just tell it hurts. My feet hurt watching this. You need to never ever wear these things again. I can;t say you need to go en pointe as opposed to these, but it would be better than wearing these. That is extremly bad for your feet, and will eventually lead to problems with your feet.

  • THIS IS HORRIBLE FOR YOUR FEEEEEEEET

  • What ur doing isbhorrible for urn feet and safety SWITCH STUDIS or tell the to stop the strategy cuz it isn't helping isbmaking it worse

  • stop it! tell your teacher and the studio this method is VERY dangerous!

  • Isn't this like using a pointe shoe box with no shank attached? Not a good idea :/

  • I have never even sat foot in a ballet studio but ive seen enough videos to know that whatever your learning at that dance studio isnt right. your feet are not even the slightest bit supported and it looks like your struggling.... please, for the sake of your own safety and your ballet dreams, go to a different studio and stop doing those exercises with that duck tape thing... :S

  • I'm no dancer, but even I can see that there is NO support for your foot on those things! Please find a new teacher for the sake of preventing injury to yourself. If you stay at this school you will end up crippled.

  • when rising on to pointe go though demi-pointe first that way there is less chance of damaging your feet.

  • I'm very worried your instructor has taught you this is ok, very poor leadership. Very unethical to have students do this, I hope you have moved on to a teacher that cares about dancer's foot development and SAFETY.

  • seriously, you're gonna RUIN your feet!!!!!!!!!!

  • my ballet teacher told me that one time she was onstage and broke her shanks and her backups were dead so her teacher had her put her boxes inside a pair of ballets and go back onstage, but that was like 20 years ago and she would never let us do that now... i break my boxes every year onstage and her response is always the same "it's better to finish on demi-pointe than injure yourself forever"

  • If you're using that box thing, why not just go on pointe?

  • Dont. ever. do. that. Honestly.. it seems like you made that out of duct tape and it was probably all your idea. dont be stupid.. if there really is a studio that told you to do this then leave!! really.. its pretty obvious that all that will teach you to do is knuckle in your pointe shoes.. your freacking arches arnt even supported! Dont make up stupid things like this..

  • Dear one, please go to another school and get a professional teacher. I am so sorry this is what you have had to deal with. Please do not use those things again. You can end up with serious damage.

  • oh my this is so bad, you're just asking to get severely injured! :(

  • Ummm... That's pretty bad. No teacher in their right mind would "make" you do this, as there is no support for your arch and the rest of your foot. How are you supposed to learn demi-pointe work and/or pointe work (in your case, semi-pointe work because it really isn't anything) if your trying to balance on a piece of rubber?

  • thats a peice of crap there LOL, ur arch is rubbish , and your feet arent strong at all !

  • thats a peice of crap there LOL

  • stop stop stop stop stop!!!!!!!!!! thats aweful!!!!!!!!! im not on pointe and i know thats bad!!!!!!

  • This is really bad cuz it offers no support. Im a dancer and i don't even do ballet but even i am smart enough to know that those pieces of crap are terrible for your feet.

  • it looks like you just made those globs of duct take yourself....

  • dont do that!

  • They look like they're made from duct tape, oh please stop before you ruin your feet honestly.

  • omg, before you ruin your feet.STOP!

  • You are going to ruin your arches honey. Please update us and let us know that you went to another studio. You are paying for poor training.

  • First off sweetie, you ARE ready for pointe. Second, go to a different studio. The one that you are going to now is not very smart. The rule of thumb is typically around 3-4 consecutive years of regular ballet in order to do pointe. This is because you need to have strength in your ANKLE. I am surprised you havent broken your ankle yet by doing these exercises. Doing the exercises you were doing while in regular soft ballet slippers will help you more than those things will.

  • @bleedingskarlet89 no she not ready for pointe

  • it looks like duct tape.

  • Tell your mom that youre studio got a bob threat and it exploded , you go to a new studio and do real pointe work (: (much less painful than all those ¨ouch¨´s you said (: youll get better elsewhere, (try beign russian trained !)

  • Ahhh! Why would someone tell you to do this?!

  • this is not good. your studio may not be very good. if this rubber is bendy, than this is very bad.

  • this is TERRIBLE FOR UR FEET OMG

  • Ok so she's useing the wrong things for pointe don't blame her she doesn't know what to before pointe her instruckter does mabye there totaly wrong but she doesn't know any better

  • @majorcritic416 I did read the comments, so stop being a smartass. I ready do not care who made the video, except that the person who did is sending wrong messages to young girls, who aspire to dance in pointe shoes. if it was meant to be a joke, it was a cruel one at that. Either way, it is bad on the feet and ankles. no respectable studio would not have allowed that in the first place. I see you did not send others the same comment you sent me.

  • @majorcritic416 Everyone is a critic and why so sensitive? People cannot give opinnions without someone being a smartass. Did you send comments like the one you sent me to everyone who had the same comment, or did you decide to pick me out in a crowd? I do not care who made the video, I was just commenting that it is dangerous no matter who made it. You are sending the wrong message to those who want to go for Pointe work. BTW, I read the comments in the description.

  • What's with the duck tape. Can they afford pointe shoes to have you practice, or do they even allow it. doing point work without shoes is the worst thing you can ever do, because you have no support in your ankles at all.

  • @plogan721 yeah thats, true, if i was to do that id definitely have them up to my arch (the end of my heel)!

  • sweety, there is no studio that does that, you need to go to a new studio. pointe, pre-pointe and pointe are different. please throw away that toe-box, and never pick it up again. if you want to be in ballet, join up, but dont do that, it will mess up your feet, and ankles, and ruin your chances of ever dancing.

  • yeah, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of to make girls use to practice for pointe. You do not practice before going on pointe by practically going on pointe with no support. It's insanity. You do exercises to help your feet get stronger (like hundreds of releves...trust me. I know).

  • @narniaprincess05 yeah i know too it sucks but its all worth it in the end

  • dont use those! they are too short and they make you only use ur toes to stand on when you need the support of a whole shoe to utilize your arch and the rest of your foot for more strength!!!!!!

  • Oh and it's not a great exercise, you must have miss interpreted what your teacher was talking about. I don't want to be mean, I'm just concerned for your safety and if your teacher told you to do that, then you need a better teacher.

  • That is sooo dangerous and dumb!! You don't even have any support from a shank! You are supposed to wear demi pointe shoes, and even then you can't go en pointe in them!

  • bad!!! shit so bad!!!!!

  • Is that black duck tape?? If so, I'll never be able to look at duck tape again.

  • um your feet are no where near ready for pointe and doing that is not going to help

  • Do you know how bad you can hurt yourself! I f you keep using those you might not ever be able to dance again because you r seriously hurt yourself! You have Nothing supporting you arches and that this is rubber you said i don't think you should use those. I have never herd of a dance studio giving a student something like that.

  • @miss1curlygirly I'm pretty sure she's lying and just wants to do these at home. No studio would ever make a dancer do this. it's black tape she has on her feet.

  • This is awful your arch isn't supported at all and your poor toes.

  • that actually strengthens your feet and readies them for pointe..you just need to know how to use them

  • seriously this is bad...

  • This is dangerous.YOu need to go to a diff studio -_____-

  • That was like watching torture. I found the best way to practice pointe was to put the pointe shoes on and do similar exercises.

  • Well....at lest you get to practice on something that like a pointe shoe. I wish i had that thing

  • @missayla3 that's nothing like a pointe shoe! a pointe shoe supports your foot, to prevent damage, this is just out right dangerous /:

  • your arch has NO support! stop this immeadiatly! the reason for the shank in a pointe shoe is to keep the rest of your foot aligned! don't do this anymore!

  • if they think thts a good thing they might want to killu go to adiffer place u could injure urself really bad u even have a hard time doing it plz stop i love to help ballerinas and ur one of the dont do tht ever again

  • Omg hunny stop! your totally going to stuff up your feet

  • i dont think the "rubber" is working i think you arent on pointe because your arch needs to be a little better and also you need to go to a different dance studio because this is not working at all! other than that i think that you are able to go on pointe!

  • oh my god that is so bad for your feet!!! you have no support or padding! i dont see how that prepares you for pointe!!

  • What Dance Studio do you go to?

  • do they make u do that? If yes..Change studios. Pointe shoes are WAAy more suppottive. I Dont see a shank!!!

  • what is is made of? hockey tape?

  • oh my god!thats the worst thing I"ve ever seen!stop doing this if you want to go on pointe some day!!

what is that crap box anyway?take pointe shoes and do just simple exercises at the barre and day after day you will become stronger!

  • @vikoulii you make no sense to the world

  • @vikoulii thats not even good advice, but its better than what your doing.

  • those rubber toe box things are total crap there gonna kill ur feet kid stop doin that switch studios or something if they make you do that. I don't think ur ready you should be able to stay up longer how long can you stay on releve in regular ballet shoes? you've got to be able to hold it u need stronger ankles and a stronger core to hold you up.

  • How will this ruin ur feet anymore than a pointe shoe would???

  • @balletandalpacas because you have hardly any support, this is a rubber box, nothing likea pointe shoe, plus, there's no shank

  • @balletandalpacas This ruins your fit wayyy more than pointe shoes. Heres why...point shoes have a shank to give major support. Also, the satin, elastic, and ties all give support. She is relying on nothing! Honey, please change studios! This will perminatly dammage your feet!

  • @balletandalpacas Because there is no support under the arch. All of the weight is in the toes.

  • NO NEVER EVER.

    MAKE IT STOP.

    go on pointe already. :D

  • @peacelovedance82 She is not ready she just needs to stop already

  • your not going over is this real....its like your scared or something. my teacher never made us do this.

  • When you are on pointe you are pulling off, try to stay on the tops of your toes and you should be able to hold it for longer

  • hello does that box make your toes sweat?

  • this is my sister this is fake and thats why u can only see one foot she only used one box

    this is the truth

stop saying that she has a bad studio

  • Ok, Get a new teacher hun, En Point shoes SUPPORT your foot when you go up, These boxes...GIve you NO support. You will develop the wrong shape in your feet and possibly injure your feet, Please find a new place to learn

  • Haha. I remember making myself things like these out of duct tape when I was younger, secretly practicing in my room because I wasn't allowed to do pointe yet.

I would put them inside of my technique shoes though and when I got to be on pointe I did very well but I don't recommend doing what I did..... Definitely obey your teachers. Although I've never heard of them requiring something like this before...

  • if you want to get stronger for pointe...dont do this......do releves/eleves, on one leg and 2. also get a theraband! its the best way to strengthen your ankles. its best to not rush onto pointe, but your doin really well so im sure youll be on in no time =)

  • I think u are ready to go on pointe, u are good on that hard boxjust don't jump on to pointe when u get them.
