OK. All right, here's why I think the Pope's visit was a success. I believe England has been historically a rather hostile place for Catholicism and specially the Pope. Many people worried about the treatment the Pope would get and even his personal safety. But the Pope was safe, was welcomed by hundreds of thousands of English Catholics, one of his masses drew an attendance of 50,000 people. Was splendidly treated and inspired many people. His apostolic visit was accomplished. That is success.

The numbers in OTHER places are FAR more staggering. This is not excusable, and the Church is moving to eradicate the filth. @ProfMTH At recent conference on sexual abuse we learned that the Catholic priests have no more higher percentage than the Protestants, Hindus and several other religions... for some reason Islam was not covered... but anyway the highest percentage was with the NEA. Hope this helps.

When one does have the power they will cover it up regardless of religion or whatever as I've seen it in my work even though I'm not a detective. OK. All right, here's why I think the Pope's visit was a success. I believe England has been historically a rather hostile place for Catholicism and specially the Pope. Many people worried about the treatment the Pope would get and even his personal safety. But the Pope was safe, was welcomed by hundreds of thousands of English Catholics, one of his masses drew an attendance of 50,000 people. Was splendidly treated and inspired many people. His apostolic visit was accomplished. That is success.

The official religion of the UK stopped being Catholicism hundreds of years ago. The percentage of the population who are Catholics was 8% in the 2001 census. It would seem that maybe he's wasting his time, as there are other countries out there with far more Catholics, who would be far more welcoming and more grateful for his visit.
Unless it's a conversion tactic. That would give more reason for him to be here.
