My buddy caught one in the Cuyahoga River in NE Ohio. They are very rare up here. Hopefully its a sign that the native fish populations are returning! Check out my videos please!!!
I'll take a flathead in the same weight class over a blue because when you are noodling a blue in the five pound class it is much more dangerous then a flathead in the 50 plus range. They'll ram barbels into you like a big bee that is pissed off. Not to say that hand grabbing a flathead is for the faint of heart because your knuckles will get skinned. If they had barbels they tould turn a man into a shishkebob. Blues belong on a reel and not on the family jewels..
@fishguru73 I'll take a flathead in the same weight class over a blue on a rod and reel too cause they're better fighters IMO. Noodling is retarded at ANY rate though, I don't care what you say. Its DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB. Im from Oklahoma where noodling is legal and I've lost a good friend and some family member to drowning during noodling. Its not just unsafe.. its stupid. Get a rod and reel and do it the right way.. it might save your life.
@Tokintilldeath Noodling is only safe with your head above water and should never be done alone. It is a legitimate way to get fish but it isn't for the faint if heart.

just let the bait float with nothing on it but the bait and let the line loose until you see it going hold on to the line until you can feel it on and if your not sure let it keep taking it and by then it would have swallowed it by then best techniqie ever i had one bigger than this on the video but it broke my line
@DREADHEAD2516 10lb test, treble hook, chicken liver, 1/4 ounce split shot 12 inches from the hook, 1/2 ounce slip sinker above the split shot. Don't tear the fiber in the chicken liver use a sharp knife, preferably a fillet knife to cut the liver. Make sure the liver is covering all 3 hooks on the treble. That is one of the must surefire methods for channels in a farm pond.
