Yes but it is of Vedic origin when it was called 'shata-tantri'. It became an Iranian instrument later where it is called 'santur'. Now in India, it is called 'santoor'. :) Ever heard why it is called 'Santoor'? :)
Exquisite! Great Audio and Visual quality to this video...much appreciated....is there an audio recording of this for sale anywhere? and where can I see the whole performance?
probably one of the best performance seen till date, music is so awesome, might have heard this one 1000 times and still not bored.. this piece will be heard million times.
hey girlfrom celebs definatlly music is so heavenly, who won't feel like just closing your eyes and witness the god, i m just so mesmerise with this combination, i have been listening this for past 3 months everyday, it is just so part of life
nice MEGH RAAG presntation, really hevenly and touching music with the best tabla player ... i have ever heard so far ... wld like to hear all of you live
Well played Nikhil, great to hear Santoor after a longtime. I saw both the clippings. Accompanists on Tabla is excellent and so does the idea of jugalbandi with Sarod. Keep it up. Congratulations to all of you.
I've finally worked out where the information is on the website ... but live in London and can't really afford the flight to SG to order my copy of the DVD :)

atleast we should keep music free from such restrictions of country, region and culture -- it can simply be music.

Although I know santoor is relatively new to Indian music, it seems like there could never have been Indian music without it.
