  • Wait...How do you control it?

  • That is cool! hovercrafts! wait, are they really hovercrafts?

  • i can see why they removed it. soo b o r i n g no offence.

  • Everyone in the comments who were asking about the history of this ride and how it worked, check out "The Saucer Fleet" by ARA Press. There's a whole chapter on it.

  • A huge air hockey table!

  • this ride sucks

  • Cool thanks for sharing also wonder what this is like

  • Dude the stupid special effects ruin the whole piece. Leave that to hollywood.

  • the first kid looked like my year 3 teacher

  • they are going to use that same ride concept for luigis tires for the new carsland going in at california adventure.

  • what's this song?

  • "I want to go on something more thrilling than Flying Saucers 1"

  • @drdreadfuk LMFAO. rctycoon ftw

  • @drdreadfuk LOL. This made me giggle.

  • Man..I remember being totally blown away by this ride..as was my family. I haven't thought of this ride in about 30 years! This is a gem! thanks for posting.

  • this ride was great! I rode on it when I was six.

  • This was in operation from 1961 to 1966. Captain EO & The Magic Theater currently is built over this original location.

  • this is coming back in the cars land at california adventure, as luigi's flying tires!

  • I never new there was flying saucers ride

  • um this has never been a disneyland ride...

  • @FunkyMonkey1123 wrong

  • @FunkyMonkey1123 yes it wasi work at dl since 1972 and i know where they have these put away and all it was a ride a nice one too

  • @Jodope1 oh cool :)

  • Ultraman Aliens would have fun on this ride

  • Disney could never get these to work very well, so they were eventually removed. Too bad—it was a fun concept.

  • It looks like a giant air hockey game

  • Lost Saucer was a Sid and Marty Krofft production. There was a theme park in Atlanta Georgia I remember visiting as a kid.

  • They removed this ride in 1967. I got to ride it once with my father as a toddler.

  • Yeah in 2012 there will be a flying saucers ride called Luigi's Roamin' Tires in Cars Land in DCA :D cant wait. I wasn't born when there were flying saucers

  • just eerie

  • No wondwer they took this ride out, the saucers had no control or propulsion and everybody was stuck on those things just bouncing around without being able to ram each other.

  • its coming bak in car's land in ca

  • yep it will be luigi tires that floats at carlands.

  • the Lost Saucer has been founde and its going to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in 2012 yeay.

  • forget bumper cars its all bout the flying saucers... woopteedoo!!!

  • It's rumored that they're going to bring a ride like this back. It's going to be at Cars Land in Disney's California Adventure. I think it had something to do with a character name Luigi? I'm not sure.

  • oh yeah they are, it'll be similar to this

  • This attraction is being brought back to Disneyland California as part of Cars Land. They're going to look like rubber tires. You can find Cars Land on You Tube and look for it.

  • If small world can't withstand the people of today, how is this ride going to withstand the fat people of 2012. (nothing against fat people, just stating facts)

  • The whole "Smallworld can't withhold fat people", is a rumor. Disneyland actually dug the tunnels deeper and re- did the plates because when there was a crack they would re-pair it with cement, well after time and years the cement cracks began to build up and now the boats were getting stuck on the build up, that's all.

  • ok we just wanna see the ride we dont neat all the cute special effects.

  • @jimbo32712 Yeah the effects ruin it. But the same footage without visual effects is on a video next to this one. It's on "Farting Saucers"

  • Woot, So This Is What The Saucer Chairs Are In VMK! ( Disney's Virtual Magic kingdom ) Sadly Disney Closed The Game

    Im maroontealflwer

  • @Bug6buggy3 i miss that game and why vmk closed ? :(.

  • where is this ride in disney land what is it called

  • It was removed like ages ago.... but it was in tommorrowland and it was called Flying Saucers i think..not sure

  • It was in the area until recently occupied by Honey i Shrunk the Audience.

  • yup. but it'll be like tires instead of saucers. that way it'll fit with the carsland theme

  • Yiipie, its coming back in 2012 to California ADventures, but itll be different

  • well, it's not an innoventions building attraction... but that is the format of the carosel of progress which is located now in walt disney world in tomorrowland.

  • if anyone's wondering this song is from the lost saucer

  • whats the name of this song, what group. Thanks it's killing me

  • omg lmao... old skool bumper cars ... nice

  • This is on rct3!

  • This is coming back, actually, in some form as part of the DCA expansion. :D

  • @JasonMalaprop yep their big ass tires now!

  • @JasonMalaprop You're right! :) "A similar ride themed to the film Cars is proposed as part of the expansion to Disney's California Adventure that was announced on October 17, 2007."

  • @JasonMalaprop ya its gonna be pixar cars!!!!!

  • @JasonMalaprop and i am actually quite excited about that

  • @JasonMalaprop yep luigis roaming tires in cars land spring of 2012 and its also cool how theyre using the same veichles from the ones in this video they had them stored under the autopia track......

  • Comment removed

  • Early 60s. Providing you didn't hit another saucer to quickly, these saucers picked up fast speed when you leaned in any one direction and traveled across the ride area. It was much like the electric bumper cars. It was my favorite ride when I was 13-years-old.

  • Thanks for the video. Have never been able to ride the Flying Saucers, but it looks fun.

For every curious about this ride, or people who miss it, it is supposed to come back to Disneyland with more advanced technology so it won't break down. It is planned to be part of the new Cars land in the remodel of Disney's California Adventure.

  • Gifted2212--That's true, and just in case people are confused and don't know, this time, the vehicles will be tires, not flying saucers.

  • ya its true cant wait its supposed to open in 2010~2012

  • Whew Oh I found this show our family go to disneyland and I was little boy this old ride wish back old ride often since 1958 to last 1985 moved to Texas I real miss so much and love place and wish go there but no money and no work since 1999 no one support that sad reason I am deaf guy : ) Tks

  • This is great. I loved The Lost Saucer growing up and the music fits perfectly with this video. Great job!

  • Excellent music track - the theme from Far Out Space Nuts!

  • Actualy it's the opening theme from LOST SAUCER.

  • LOL,I realized that shortly after I hit the "post comment" button. My bad! Both great shows, though!

  • That looks like fun. Bumper cars meets air hockey.
