@MasterFreespirit Pearl Jam will tell you that he saved them at the time. The revolving door of PJ drummers has kept me open minded to all of the different guys and their styles. It is subjective, but whether Jack ruined PJ is not.
Great early 90's AOR track here that mostly nobody even remembers anymore. That's a shame how AOR & alt-rock stations threw this song & anything else this band's ever put out under the bus. This band & this song should've been much huger. This song only got as high as #40 on the Billboard AOR charts in the spring of 1994.
This my friends, (and th period from 1992-4) was a high-point for music, after which it was all downhill. I wish I knew if others covered this same song? Whatever th case may b, Hillary Duff's of th same name apparently wsn't connected, nor ws Iron Maiden's, much as I'd've anticipated hearing both versions. ^ video strongly eminates th atmosphere of that period which many of us nostalgically refer to as th "Grunge Era." The College Rock era of the 80's was a great time for music as well it seems
@JackRussellTerrier2 well pointed out. i concur,i remember this well in the summer of '93 i was 9fuckinteen.what great time this came at the end of rock, midpoint of grunge/alternative.....then as u said it all went to shit. but this tune is a keeper of that time.
Same as all the rest of you. Loved it when it came out. Couldn't find out anything about it. Forgot about it. Got into Queens, Desert Sessions, Chris Cornell's Euphoria Morning, and eventually made the connection. This one song is still crazily affecting after all these years. Perhaps moreso since Natasha is up in the sky and the music that this gang of pals makes is so important to me.
Just buy ALL the Eleven back catalogue. Alan's solo album, Sparks is utter utter genius. A soundtrack for the summer if ever i have heard it. Brilliant.
the record was released by Hollywood Records and shouldn't really be too difficult to find. just be smart with google. and......Natasha Snyder was an amazing woman and deserves the respect the music community gives her.
Holy Shit. OK, I saw these guys in concert in 1994 open for Candlebox, And was really into them. I stole the poster of the 11 logo, which i thought was awesome (still do. Just black and white 11 in a cicle). Seems every couple of years I'd think of them, but with such a simple band name, They were hard to track, and I couldnt remember the 'hit song' that I knew. It occurred to me to try again tonight, and eventually found my way here. It has been 17 years since I heard this band. Must find CD's
In my opinion Alain's solo work is completely SICK on this track ... so extra gooood it gives me chicken skin! Really one of kind feel & approach to guitar~
@sowhatdude1 Agreed dude. I remember this song from years ago. Buy Spark if you like this. It's all acoustic, but it will blow you away.Honest.And tell your friends!
Hey, I've loved this song since I was 'round 14, and heard it on the radio, put it on a mix-tape (1994?). And I've LOVED it ever since. Bought the ALBUM. "Towers" is a truly Badass song, too... Cheers to you all. I'm sorry that you've lost a band-member. I feel your pain and I'm sorry. But it's wonderful that you guys got together and kicked ass, while she was alive. Cheers. >A
what a song! I was gonna upload this but discovered u got there well before me :-) waited days on mtv with a tape in the video for this track when it was first released. At 19 u're way ahead of the posse! Oh, & I spent more than 10yrs with a beautiful female bass-player...........co-incidence..........synchronicity.................;-)
Did she seriously die at 11:11? I am sorry, if that is true, I will be fucking tripping. There are personal circumstances that would make that just trippy as all get out.
This song was run threw out my high school years I have yet to find a band to match this sound. I found their cd again on ebay a few months ago still love Eleven RIP Natasha.
@reyamtebab Dude, I have their Cassette (this one) from the early 90's and I must have listen to this 1000 times.. There are so many great songs .. Praise YOUTUBE to bring it to life again!
I met Alain after a QOSTA show about five years ago. My friend had him sign the Chris Cornell Euphoria Morning album. We asked him if Chris and Eleven were going to team up again. Alain said that they were supposed to make another album but a week or so before they were to start writting Chris bailed out to do Audioslave. He said that him and Chris were not on speaking terms but he hoped that the friendship was not permanently severed.
I saw these guys with soundgarden and tad in 1994 and they rocked. I had not heard of them before the performance and its been hard finding their music.
I've spent years looking for this group. Its weird that a lot of replies seem to point out the same thing. Big thanx NOT! to the record companies depriving us from accessing such a fabulous group.
Hmmm...YouTube's just told me UMG has rights to the audio of this video. I dont know how that affects anybody who wants to watch this - I just hope it doesnt block some countries, really!
i remember being a kid who liked to stay up late and one night at around 3 am i was watching mtv and they were playing the videos that never got any play during the day and this video came on and i absolutely loved it. it was so different from everything els back then, but i never heard it again for 15 years however it was always stuck in the back of my mind. and here i am almost 30 and heres the video on u tube and i still absolutely love it. thank you for posting

this is one of the greatest grunge songs ever written and it's sad that not more people know about this band. RIP Natasha... this song brings back such amazing memories of your unrivaled musicianship.
This band tended to be a bit industrial for my taste. However, I will allways love this song. May your soul rest in peace and continue to rock on, Natasha Shneider.
Damn, that was weird...I too just randomly remembered this song and looked it up. Sad to hear about Natasha, what a brilliant musician, this CD really helped me through an ugly, painful summer. Thank you for posting this and reminding me that it's time to let go of the painful past. All our love forever.
try to search mundoeleven on google, is a fan blog with many albums that have to do something with Alain or Natasha.....it is in spanish cause the guy in charge of it is from Chile, but i can say that it is the most complete fan site from the band.

Fuck, I can't remember the name of the album off the top of my head but the one after this was great. It had "Nature wants to kill me" and "Sea sick of you" which always stood out for me as some of my favorites this band did. This album was really good too.
YT doesnt' let people paste links in comments, but I'm sending you a search I did on amazon. It's sad but good for you at the same time that people on their are selling copies of 'Thunk' for as low as 2.50! It should be against the law to sell such great albums for so little money :/ XD
Murdockqotsa - I'd have to say a good one to start with is their self titled album 'Eleven'. This song, Reach Out, is from that album. Other great moments on that album for me are Natasha's songs like 'Hieronymous' and 'Towers'. My favorite all time song of theirs is from Thunk that is called 'No Ground'. Have I mentioned how much I love this band? :D
Reminds me of X107 radio station in New York around the early - mid nineties. Yes, there used to be quality radio stations before XM & Sirius. Great song.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS VIDEO IS HERE!!! THANX A LOT FOR POSTING IT!!! This reminds me my teenage days watching MTV and Beavis and ButtHead... they introduced me to this song - miss it soooo much!
I taped this song off the radio and listened to it all the time in the car. Reminds me of high school days : ) I don't like their other songs, though. But thanks for putting this up! Just thought of them randomly today.
I love these guys saw them on the Soundgarden Superunknown tour in 94, they opened the show with a band called "Tad" if you havent heard of them check em out great band. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS AWESOME FUCKIN BAND AWESOME FUCKIN SONG.
Does anyone know what they are doing now? I love this band and I would love them to become more active on youtube and update their website more. They still have fans out here waiting for their next release.
Hmm...thanks! I just did a search and apparently they toured with QOTSA in 2005 and played on some albums but july 2007 other people stepped in for them. I hope their departure means that they are working on another album!
ahhh, memories.the year 1993,summer.i heard this song and i thought wow...great fuckin tune, these guys are gonna be big.never heard from them again.searched for years for this song(didnt know artist)finally found it on u-tube.underated band.
tambien recuerdo este video de mtv enl 94,no paro de escuchar estos dias,tb vi a ellos en barcelona con chris cornell en 1999.molan mucho(pero las ultimas grabaciones no me emotivan tanto)
They had nothing to do with songs for the deaf. That album was written by josh homme, troy van leeweun, nick olivieri , dave grohl and mark lanegan. Alain and Natasha joined the touring queens after the production of lullabies to paralyse.
Eleven ! Alain Johannes and his wife Natacha Schneider are simply brilliant. "Howling book",CD a work of art. As producers are so original and imaginative. I'm Spanish and I love this band, almost unknown in my country. I want them to produce my record!! :) Great Eleven...Great.
Great band totally missed it during the nineties. I first heard of them when they played on chris cornells solo cd. Were they well known in the U.S.? because I never saw anything of them in Holland (Europe)
As far as I remember this is the only song that got any kind of radio airplay. I only managed to catch this on MTV once. They never really achieved a large scale notoriety in the States. However, they made enough of an impact, that you're bound to find a few people who remember this song.
Oh yeah? I was 'lucky' enough to catch the opening riff of 'reach out' that I fell in love with the first I heard it at the end of a Beavis and Butthead cartoon when they used to critique music videos. I ignored their comments because I wanted to listen to the song! So that was pretty much when I went out and bought their self titled 'Eleven' album that this is on :D
I've been a fan of these guys since they first broke in the 90's. They are quite possibly the most overlooked talents in the past 30 years. One of my top 5 favs of all time, along with Rush, Floyd, Ben Harper and Soungarden.
Fuck yea. Been trying to find this again, havent't seen it in ages! I requested it on local TV alternative video (JBTV) in the 90s...and they played my voicemail on the air over it! Whoohoo!
Natasha and Alain helped Chris Cornell with his Solo Album Euphoria Morning a few years back. I can't believe they haven't started a channel themselves on Youtube. I would definetly subscribe. I may have to send them a message through Eleven's website and suggest it to them. Thanks for posting this! I have all of their albums.
I have two albums from this GREAT rockers, Eleven-Howling book 2003, Eleven-Thunk 1997. They used to play with the drummer Jack Irons (ex Red Hot Chilli Peppers, ex-Pearl Jam). The band used to be in the 90s three member, however on the 2003 album they have electronic drums - I think becouse Jack Irons left???
what's with this band, i cant find nothing on the internet (i mean songs), i'd even went to bestbuy, and have NOT seen a single cd of them!, shit, they rock, i want some songs! lol, ty anyways for this vid.
This is one of the few albums from the grunge-90's that I still listen to regularly. This band was always underrated.

Trapped in a shell my intention is strong
With a mouthful of water I can break through a stone
Carried on a dove I have dropped from the sky
Now the ground is above and my goal is set high
Reach out with a kiss from my mother
Reach out just to smile at my father
Straight like a wand my magic is simple
Sensing your laughter the breeze makes me nimble
My colors displayed I am ready to travel
On the back of a bee all my children unravel

Really cool song.
I just discovered this band through QOTSA and Peppers connections.
Is there any album that stands out?
murdockqotsa 3 years ago
Fuck, I can't remember the name of the album off the top of my head but the one after this was great. It had "Nature wants to kill me" and "Sea sick of you" which always stood out for me as some of my favorites this band did. This album was really good too.
xemospiderx 3 years ago
The album your trying to think of is 'Thunk'. I have all of their albums :D
iiswansongii 3 years ago 2
Yes thank you! "Thunk" is such a great album. I can't seem to find my copy of it anywhere after I moved, and it's killing me!
xemospiderx 3 years ago
YT doesnt' let people paste links in comments, but I'm sending you a search I did on amazon. It's sad but good for you at the same time that people on their are selling copies of 'Thunk' for as low as 2.50! It should be against the law to sell such great albums for so little money :/ XD
Hope this helps :D
iiswansongii 3 years ago
Murdockqotsa - I'd have to say a good one to start with is their self titled album 'Eleven'. This song, Reach Out, is from that album. Other great moments on that album for me are Natasha's songs like 'Hieronymous' and 'Towers'. My favorite all time song of theirs is from Thunk that is called 'No Ground'. Have I mentioned how much I love this band? :D

Reminds me of X107 radio station in New York around the early - mid nineties. Yes, there used to be quality radio stations before XM & Sirius. Great song.

I taped this song off the radio and listened to it all the time in the car. Reminds me of high school days : ) I don't like their other songs, though. But thanks for putting this up! Just thought of them randomly today.

Does anyone know what they are doing now? I love this band and I would love them to become more active on youtube and update their website more. They still have fans out here waiting for their next release.

last I heard they joined queens of the stone age
rludwig262 4 years ago
Hmm...thanks! I just did a search and apparently they toured with QOTSA in 2005 and played on some albums but july 2007 other people stepped in for them. I hope their departure means that they are working on another album!
iiswansongii 4 years ago
I heard the reason alain and nathasha did not tour with qotsa after era vulgaris is because they wanted to get back to eleven, creating a new album.

these guys are a big reason songs for the deaf was such a masterpiece
fuzzrock1 4 years ago
They had nothing to do with songs for the deaf. That album was written by josh homme, troy van leeweun, nick olivieri , dave grohl and mark lanegan. Alain and Natasha joined the touring queens after the production of lullabies to paralyse.
PlayingLame 3 years ago
Actually they contributed quite a bit playing the organ and the piano and a couple of other instruments. Plus Johannes co-wrote Hangin' Tree.
There is no Queens album without a lot of collaboration.

Eleven ! Alain Johannes and his wife Natacha Schneider are simply brilliant. "Howling book",CD a work of art. As producers are so original and imaginative. I'm Spanish and I love this band, almost unknown in my country. I want them to produce my record!! :) Great Eleven...Great.

Holy crud, I just found the hottest pic of Natasha on the elevenworld homepage. I had no idea how...ahem...well, go see the pic. Yowza.

Great band totally missed it during the nineties. I first heard of them when they played on chris cornells solo cd. Were they well known in the U.S.? because I never saw anything of them in Holland (Europe)
okjige 4 years ago
As far as I remember this is the only song that got any kind of radio airplay. I only managed to catch this on MTV once. They never really achieved a large scale notoriety in the States. However, they made enough of an impact, that you're bound to find a few people who remember this song.
patbuddha 4 years ago
Oh yeah? I was 'lucky' enough to catch the opening riff of 'reach out' that I fell in love with the first I heard it at the end of a Beavis and Butthead cartoon when they used to critique music videos. I ignored their comments because I wanted to listen to the song! So that was pretty much when I went out and bought their self titled 'Eleven' album that this is on :D
iiswansongii 3 years ago
I've been a fan of these guys since they first broke in the 90's. They are quite possibly the most overlooked talents in the past 30 years. One of my top 5 favs of all time, along with Rush, Floyd, Ben Harper and Soungarden.
shupe2112 4 years ago
They are in my top favorites as well. Along with Soundgarden and The Tea Party (Their Early albums)
iiswansongii 3 years ago
Fuck yea. Been trying to find this again, havent't seen it in ages! I requested it on local TV alternative video (JBTV) in the 90s...and they played my voicemail on the air over it! Whoohoo!
grabbyhands 4 years ago
Natasha and Alain helped Chris Cornell with his Solo Album Euphoria Morning a few years back. I can't believe they haven't started a channel themselves on Youtube. I would definetly subscribe. I may have to send them a message through Eleven's website and suggest it to them. Thanks for posting this! I have all of their albums.
iiswansongii 4 years ago
I have two albums from this GREAT rockers, Eleven-Howling book 2003, Eleven-Thunk 1997. They used to play with the drummer Jack Irons (ex Red Hot Chilli Peppers, ex-Pearl Jam). The band used to be in the 90s three member, however on the 2003 album they have electronic drums - I think becouse Jack Irons left???
