Re: Allan and Peter: poor Peter! I would think it almost impossible to fill Allan's shoes They tried before with Rickfors who was excellent but had a different type of voice and needed to do different types of songs, that  was a different era but still good. Peter tries to sing Allan songs but his voice is not as powerful. They have come out with new albums and Peter sounds great doing the new songs geared for his voice like Rickfors, but no one can take Allan's place

While Clarke was indeed the voice of the Hollies, it is he that chose to leave, several times. Curious that the voice did not translate into a successful solo act, as most here seem to think he 'was' the Hollies. Also, keep in mind, few of the touring Hollies are from the hit-making days, so with the exception of Hicks, the talent is gone and this is simply an oldies act today, not the Hollies you are remembering.

He has a nice voice, but it definitely a different range than Allan's. Allan's a hard act to follow, but this guy is basically backing up Tony who can still play guitar.

This gentleman while very talented just can't fill the shoes of the MAN that originally sang this.I love the Hollies but there comes a time when I'd rather watch old videos. Nice to see Tony Hicks looking so dapper.

@ricogarion ... If Peter Howarth COULDN'T fill the shoes, there'd be no one in the audience. It'd be better if the originals could go on forever, but it never happens. I thank Allan for creating the sound, and I thank the Hollies of today for carrying on their musical legacy.
