today i couldnt seem to create space let alone get off my back thank you so much i hope this helps next time. what do i do if he isolates the arm under his body. that happened today and i couldnt get it out!
@theusednick What do you mean "under his body"? Also, if you'll ask this in our MMA Discussion Board on our site, I'm sure you'll get multiple responses. Thanks.
Thanks for the alternative to the traditional whip up as heavier guys can be an issue or guys will try and bait you and during the whip up they go for the baby d'arce/japenese necktie - - - learned that one the hard way. As always, your vids and explanations are superb! Thanks Richard.
Awesome. I've been looking for alternatives to the whip up, which works horribly against bigger guys with a good base.
For framing, what's to stop him from pushing your arm across your face and going for an arm triangle? What would be the proper reaction to that counter-attack?
Excellent question. First- knowing that option of his is the first step to preventing and countering it. Second, do not use that much of your arm. You should be using the lower wrist/upper forearm with your elbow NEVER coming to the center of his head. This way he can't surprise you and throw the arm across to lock up the arm triangle.

Glad you like. The positions are where the fights are won! Next week is the second part of this video, and the next two weeks are called "Combining the Guards Parts 1 and 2" and are quite informative!
the one problem ive had is when someone who is very strong is just holding me down as tight as possible. When i try to push his head away he traps my arm between his head and my shoulder and i get stuck. any advice?
He can't americana you because you're not flat on your back. If you stayed flat, then yes. Keep in it mind, but you're really in very little danger from an americana in that position.
It's coming soon! The two weeks after that are part 1 and 2 of "Combining the Guards" and are quite informative. They build a lot off of these two videos. Enjoy! Check out the site- we have a ton of resources there for you as well.
I keep on getting Americana'd form the framing?? any tips

I like this variation better than the rubber guard version called "The Jaws of Life."

I think this move can give the opponent an opportunity for an americana when you try to push his head. isnt it?
