Im reaching for my AK47.......Just reaching for my AK47.....Im locking and loaded....with a smile on my face......Im spraying these fuckers......who have just invaded my house!!!!
This is so mild compared to what comes out now. But the playful manner, the woman's red dress and their age and the contrast in manner and action make this scene more unnerving & disturbing than all the really unattractive ghoulish rape scenes out there. It always will be genius & inspired. There really is little violence here but it all seems like the worst cruelty.
@lovesGenet Kubrick is a master at making the audience unnerved. Look at The Shining: With the twin scene, he prepares you for something to come along. When the twins finally arrive, it's surprising. Their presence is unnerving, and then he plants images of them mutilated, but takes them away before you can get comfortable. This scene doesn't let you sit comfortably. The screams of pain mixed with furies of laughter, and singing, shows the sadistic bliss of the droogs contrasted to, well, RAPE.
@DOOMlalala its about human phsycialogy. i dont know how to spell that. but yeah, its about being violent and how things can phsycially stop u, but that doesnt make u a better person. about terrible choices and whatnot.
@DOOMlalala because rape is worse in ways like, it haunts that person. alot. its taking someting that could be sentimental, and crushing it up to horrify the person. rape certainly isnt the only crime in this movie either, but its a big one.
My older brother used to go to the football dressed like Alex and his crew back in the 70s. Told me about the time he went to take on the Millwall, but only about 5 other hoolis turned up from Luton, lol
@griffin324 Trivia fact, they only used 'Singing in the rain' in this scene because Malcolm (The actor who plays Alex) only knew all the words to that song. XD
Wow, you read my mind! Whenever I think of the films of 1971, such as "A Clockwork Orange", I play the scenes in my mind to the Leslie Bricusse songs from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and the Oscar-nominated "Thank You Very Much" from "Scrooge". :)
I would argue that the original soundtrack here beats any other "inappropriate" soundtracks. Isn't that the point in the movie in the first place? "Singing in the Rain" is not exactly your standard rape and pillage music.
i'm a little hesitant to watch this movie. i don't know whether it's all just depressing violence and rape with some hopeless ending, or trying to get across a good message
Ah, a shallow psychotic hypocrite with no pictures, videos, information or wit. Next time I'm in a life conundrum, I'll ask myself what someone like you would do.
I have NO idea where this attack came from, but its quite clear that you are a deeply frustrated and fucked up. Only witless dumb people use words like "cunt" b/c its the only way they can hurt someone's feelings. Cut yourself extra hard for me sugar!
By the way. I watched this movie last night, and I LOVED it.
As others have pointed out no Speilbug or charly chaplin bs, will ever top Kubrick. This movie is incredible, Kubrick was a man to advanced for his time.
He is the father of a great director like Oliver Stone, name some others to bring some light to this conversation, I just like Oliver Stone almost as much as Kubrick.
dude take it down a notch, you act like he just raped and murdered your mother or something. i loved the movie too but you dont see me getting all freaked out.
I don't know about fucking a great movie. I think it's ironic. The idea of underplaying the violence in the movie by comparing it to the small disobedience of the kids in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...I like it. Calm down.
first off, try watching that movie & not judging it on what you think it is, 2nd, if you've done that already, try growing a brain, getting some life experience, & then watching it again.
willy wonka is a very good movie & is certainly not "for kids", it appeals to both but is more for grown ups.
the reason you don't get it is because you have neither clear mind of a child or the experience of an adult. which is why your channel & taste in music is so bland & commercial.
Its about an ultra violent hooligan in the near future who is caught and sent to jail for his crimes. There he is reprogrammed to be a "good" citizen and is released back into society.

yes, i must agree with you there Matey.. this movie is absolutely astonishing. i watched it only this year. making it 38 years after its been created and i FUCKING loved it seriously, this has to be one of the best movies of all time its just beyond crazy, it has everything u want, violence bit sex crazy science, criminals, its just absolute quality, and the main part played "alex" is astonishing, he just rips the movie up with excelence.
My all time favourite movie Clockwork Orange. Classic that was made in 1971 by Stanley Kubrick. You really have to watch this movie a few times to really figure it out. It takes place in the future, 1999. It is one crazy movie, but very entertaining. If you like Malcom McDowell then I suggest you watch Caligula as well, made in 1979. Another movie that is just as wild.
Just has fucked up as the soundtrack which is from the film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" originally with Gene Wilder as Willy Wanker er sy Wonker. Like a lot of the films back then and now, have a lot of adult innuendo..remember "one eyed willy"...from????
its about a guy and his friends who rape, kill, steal, and do pretty much everything terrible to random people until the lead guy (the guy you see slapping everyone and dancing) is sent to prison and tested with new technology (supposedly) to brainwash someone into doing good. I dont want to give away the ending however, its one of the coolest movies I have ever seen :)
lol, very true. Nadsat vocab. seems to pop into my thoughts quite often.. and whenever I get a headache I have to stop myself from saying I have "a pain in me gulliver" in a slight british accent.. XD
One of the things that makes this scene special is the way Alex sings casually like he is doing any random thing. With this music it is just like any other violence.
