Thank-you for writing the book The Verbally Abusive Relationship. It has truly helped me.I was living in such a state of shock and feeling off balance all the time.Now I feel like I have some power back and can recognize and respond much better to verbal abusive. And know it is ABUSE. It would be great if some of the churches could do a weekly study meeting on you book information,as to many churches do not recognize how serious this is. I speak from experience.

My ex boyfriend was domineering and I used to get compliments for my crafts, in fact people used to buy stuff, but he brushed it off. He used to shout and say stop interuppting instead of being polite to me.He used to get realy angry even if I repeated myself. He used to blow hot and cold. He is polite to other people. He can't cope if I am not like him. He wants to shape and control me.

why is it all way the man who is abusive then the women wants out then she is abusing the man and child and then our family courts tell the man to pay child support if you don't pay you go to jail now who'd getting abused now and she is getting a way with it and the court let it happen and they help her with it and did a one read about what happens when a child cone from a fatherless home so sad but hay women need to be healed a constable too

My response is because I and my son are being held hostage to an emotionally abusive women. The men want change but the courts force the males to be subjected to the women who are never held accountable for anything. We are tired of the bias and discrimination.

Abuse does not have gender or color, nor does it care what race or culture you are. It does not discriminate. Abuse can be obvious such as sexual and physical abuse. Yet, it can be subtle as mental, verbal and emotional abuse. Abuse has no limitation or age restrictions. Abuse can be seen as bullying or manipulative. Abuse has a brother and sister named anger and rage that may live in the depths of self-is where I would begin. People can change with help and practices to get them there.

my younger brother is been verbally abusing me ever since I started to work for him about seven years. I have had cancer and survived it, had a major number of panic attacks, severe depression, tried suicide and in the past three months i had an angiogram, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and I have early syptoms of cervical cancer, I now never even leave home , feel worthess and insecure.insomnia. because he pays my salary and I am too sick to work anywhere else I don't know what to do.
