  • thubs up if u know this masterpiece before it was cool.

  • Century's Song for me...

  • whenever i hear this song, i feel like im in an epic adventure

  • @lianabak Same here. An escape from my mundane life.

  • 9 people are disoriented

  • Crristiano ronaldo the story so far-ive heard it there.amazing piece, motivational music!

  • Love it <3

  • 9 people didn't escape the Icarus 2

  • @Pragmatic87 Actually...No one did.

  • What do you see! Caneda!!!

  • Where is the dislike bar???

  • One word, over used but...EPIC!!

  • OMFG. why does the image seem to be moving

  • @PhatPHried

the picture moves but the sun is big as this song

  • @PhatPHried YES! I thought the same thing! Had to stare at it a while just to be sure!!

  • i feel like part of everything

  • To the 9 people who disliked this.......... look down........ now look at the red part of the like or dislike bar...... your cocks the same size!

  • @opherrickiller You lolmeister! This is an amazing track.

  • I can't explain this but every time i hear this piece of music i get so emotional...I just stop whatever I'm doing and become completely immersed in this...and it's like i can see the whole universe in those moments......all the answers

John Murphy is such an emotional composer...I hope he's around composing for a long time to come...Everything he does with music is so meaningful <33

  • i know the guy that wrote the script 714 and just by listening to the theme song of the trailer already gives me goosebumps i hope they do turn it into a film

  • @310latinoguy uh what is 714? no record of it on IMDB.

  • @TheRaellz I'm on the same boat as you never heard of it, but I think it's just a little joke mentioning 714 likes for this video at the time? maybe.....

  • 714!

  • the next movie it will be in will be 714 remeber my name!

  • THE name of the film is still not made up yet it could change

  • Tits

  • interesting about kick-ass using the same music, i hadn`t notice before although ive seen both movies. the score goes best in the movie sunshine, because only a "we're saving the entire earth and everyone on it whilst also sacraficing ourselves on a impossibly difficult mission" scene is big enough for a score of this awesomeness.

  • 'Crew detected airlock...'

  • Everyones using the music but doesn't pay attention to where it came from, Sunshine is UNDERRATED! not many see it, not even a nomination for Best Picture :/

  • @SpinningFaithProject i know, its such an amazing movie. i hate how most people think this was originally from Kick-Ass

  • One of the greats, one of the greats.

  • my new running music, this will inspire me to run 100 miles each day

  • @FrodoBuurrell It's so obvious, I'm surprised that I never thought of it. Thank you for the wonderful idea.

  • @TheSolitaryPoet

    No problemo

  • @FrodoBuurrell on the surface of the sun :P

  • EPIC

  • Everytime I shut my eyes...it's always the same.

  • @mancydude "it's always the same...(the) surface of the sun.....

  • i think this powerful music only works with Sunshine it just works so damn well lol

  • I saw 20 minutes of kick-ass, most boring film ever, thank god for Sunshine music.

  • @taags Kick-Ass is bloody amazing

  • This version has more guitar sounds (distorted) than "Surface of the Sun, Kaneda's Death pt. 2, Strobe and Adagio in D Minor"

  • They're over doing this song by putting it in too many movies and games... soon enough they'll kill it just like the radio does with music -.-

  • This is the kinda song i want played at my funeral.

  • thumbs up if u heard this track from the intro of - Cristiano Ronaldo the story so far!:D

  • The beginning of the Track (0:00 - 0:44) remembers me to the music of the Lord of the Rings Scene when Gandalf "dies".

  • @K1nGF3liX they are two variations of the same tune

  • this song is amazing it should be used more often in movies

  • This song is about when I die and see Jesus for the first time.

  • I found two soundtracks (the score and the music from the motion picture) and none have the Escaping the Icarus II, the closest they have is Kaneda's Death Pt 2, and i believe the strings are actually louder in that version than they are in this one. Which version do you really have, and were can i found it? Thanks

  • @arconada Kaneda's Death Pt.2 is the song that plays in the scene when Kaneda dies. This song is called "Surface of the Sun" (also known as Escaping the Icarus 2) from when Capa jumps from the Icarus 2 to the Payload.

They sound extremely similar but are uniquely different.

  • @ShitsKife Actually "Surface of the Sun" is more like "Sunshine (adagio in D minor)". I still can't find this particular version. Kaneda's Death Pt 2 is close enough though.

  • is was used in the Misfits tv show where Nathan gives a speech. hilarious.

IT BREAKS MY HEART. YOU'RE WEARING CARDIGANS

  • muy bueno la melodia !

  • there should be a way to dislike the dislikes.

  • I love the movie ....

  • Incredible song!...se siente como un viaje cerca al sol!..simplemente bello!...

  • can you send me this song!? the ost for this isnt anywhere

  • awesome

  • A movie about ascending towards the heavens in haphazard fashion needed a devil...

  • I recent used this music on my video. I love it.

  • The psychological and spiritual aspects that Pinbacker brings to the table made the movie a lot more interesting. Well, after a bunch of repeat viewings when I was finally able to look past the "slasher" aspect of him.

  • I love the movie, it goes right up my genre alley. However one critique I had was the random tangent of Pinbacker, to me it kind of took away from the overall theme of the movie and the message that it portrayed. Oh well maybe I'm just over analyzing lol.

  • It's a shame this song is in every other movie now. Association of different films with the same song dilutes it's power in each, particularly the original. Whoever profited off the repeated sale of this song is a punk bitch.

  • @BruceFnLee fuckin seriously man. I heard it in that trailer for Matt Damon's new movie, and I heard it in The Walking Dead... JUST TO SHOW PEOPLE DRIVING?!! at least Kick-Ass used it right, a powerful piece of music for a powerful scene, but now everybody is capitalizing on that shit. It makes me sick.

  • @Orxnge Hush up, it's a good song, and it can make a mundane scene beautiful. Kick ass was a terrible movie, and you liked its use more than in the Walking Dead? *shakes head*

  • @Matrixmaster3 Uh, no. It didn't. At least not for me. Its use in Walking Dead totally yanked me out of the experience. Hit Girl gunning down several goons, racing to save her father as he's burning alive. Kaneda knowing he's going to die, turning to face the beauty that will kill him. People driving. This piece of music has too much energy for a scene like that, and it clashed with the sombre tone of them deciding to hit the road. But hey, I'm an elitist asshole so whatever.

  • f%& you pinbacker, unselfish prick wanted to be the last one alive so he will be with god.. good movie...

  • thumbs up if you know this song because it was in kick-ass =D

  • @liberta06 dude this song was in sunshine. 3 years b4 kick ass

  • I thought the enemy in Sunshine to be our own limitations and failings as humans. Capa's decision to save the Icarus I was based on uncertainty due to lack of scientific knowledge. Then Trey made a mental error in the shield reset. Cassie arguably erred not considering consequences of tilting the Icarus II, exposing the radio and reflecting sunlight into the O2 garden. Human limitations. Pinbacker represents irrational religious sentiment interfering with scientific advancement.

  • when teh korean guy gets pwned by the sun?

  • @TheTetheredNoob dude he was japanese you fool

  • @TheMentalyinsane How was I supposed to know that?

  • 8 people should be left on Icarus 1...

  • Epic shot and movie. Shouldn't be so underrated..

  • 8 people dont want to reignite the sun

  • this sounds more like the version they used in Kick-Ass

  • @TheIsaac41 It is, it actually is...

  • @TheIsaac41 The same song they used in kick-ass and a variation of the one they used in Lord of the Rings

  • @Yokito121 they used this song in lord of the rings?

  • @TheIsaac41 Ya.

  • @TheIsaac41 no they neva the music was made way after

  • @TheMentalyinsane i know ive seen sunshine its just in sunshine it didnt have a guitar in the song, this version sounds like the one used in Kick-Ass

  • @TheIsaac41 They are the same song.

  • This epic song is played in the trailer of X-men origins: Wolverine too

  • the jump is truly the most awe inspiring part of the film, such a struggle, such a triumph, this is a truly amazing film.

  • The songs also in the V (red sky ending).

  • didnt fit in walking dead

  • @desperial Really? I loved it, lol. I thought it made the scene particularly moving. They are seeking a way to return to society by going to the CDC (possible cure there) but the journey is dangerous. I find it very comparable to the folks on Icarus, who are on a dangerous mission to the Sun to restore their world.

  • @NicknameLily

yeah there's definetly a comparison if u think about it, but background music shouldnt stand out. it should meerly amplify the scene. the vastnass of space and the insignificance of the people floating in it fitted the music. this is just a bunch of people driving around in an empty city. there's stuff everywher.e doesnt fit the "silence" of the music imo.. and it just makes me hear the music all that much more

  • @desperial agreed, didn't fit in kick-ass either

whenever i hear this song, i think Sunshine, not nicholas cage in a costume or zombies (although walking dead did it more justice than simulating a FPS to the song)

  • This movie is so underrated!! A true masterpiece!!

  • I just heard this song in the latest episode of The Walking Dead.

  • @plastik

yeah i noticed that to, amazing music

  • @plastik omg dont you just freakin love the show! i love the walking dead and this song is great ( so is Sunshine the movie with the soundtracks that this is in)

  • @plastik This wasnt the song they used in The Walking Dead, they used Adagio In D Minor.

  • @plastik And it was completely out of place...they could have used it for something fantastic - but they used it for a trundle down the road to the city...

  • @andy5579 for real, it would have been amazing if they used it when they were running out of the facility... ugh, such a waste of such a brilliant piece.

  • @plastik in 5 episode

  • @plastik

well, you and everybody who saw the episode... well, except the deafs...

  • @arconada So that makes 12 people?

  • @plastik fuck you

  • @plastik alot of john murphy's scores somehow ended on that show. they do fit haha especially the 28 days later piece In the House - In a Heartbeat.

  • @plastik I KNOW! When it stared playing I was like "Omg that's fuckin 'Surface Of The Sun' from Sunshine!"....and everyone else was like "SHHHut up!"

  • @plastik yea I heard this song in Kick-Ass as well

  • Perfect music !

  • Something that seems like people missed is that it was also used in The Fellowship of the Ring. Which I do believe came before this movie....

  • @BioHaZaRd396

    But... Uh...

    No. It didn't.

  • @BioHaZaRd396 what part of FOTR?

  • @iceguy0077 The part where Gandalf falls. Look it up, I didn't realize it was the same tune until a little while ago.

  • @BioHaZaRd396 they're similar but not the same song, sunshine has more instruments behind it while the LOTR one is more vocal

  • @iceguy0077 Yes, but it is still Adagio in D minor.

  • add to description : used also in upcoming movie the adjustment bureau

  • I haven't seen sunshine or kick ass. I just appreciate amazing music.

  • @joekelly101

yes its greatest music, no the best movie music ever. though i really say see both! or you'll be missing out!

  • The fact that people are now remembering this music not because of Sunshine (where it fucking came from!) but for Kick Ass really does show the intellectual decline of civillisation. It's like people remembering Nessun Dorma being sung by Beavis & Butthead instead of Pavarotti. I despair.

  • @sulijoo what a negative nancy! Be happy people know it in the first place.

  • @sulijoo I don't see the intellectual decline you're talking about. Kickass was a great movie too... and probably a lot more people saw it, and thus more are going to recognize this piece from that instead of this movie. Either way, it's the same composer, and the piece is used very well in both places.

  • @sulijoo who the fuck is Pavarotti.

  • This movie was asssss!

  • A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

  • I don't know why so many people complain about the end of this movie. If you pay attention, events/dialogue throughout the film lead up to its conclusion perfectly. You don't see it coming, but yet it makes perfect sense. I love it.

  • amazing much? they also used this in kickass when hitgirl was trying to save big daddy and in the adjustment bureau trailer

  • Why would 8 people NOT like this video? No taste in music?

  • Ruined -is- a strong word, but I understand where many people see it in that way. During most of the movie the things the crew fight are their own failing grip on sanity, the desperation of their mission and the technology failing. The acting is so very believable and the harmony between the audible and visual in Sunshine is nothing short of masterful.

And then Pinbacker shows up utterly unneeded and unwanted. As it stands it's a good movie, but it could have been really great.

  • @Anfractuous spot on, i agree fully, i wouldnt say it was ruined cause it still stands as a very good film but pinbacker was just so unwarranted, for 2 of 3 acts this film was a beautifully crafted sci fi masterpiece its just irritating that it slipped into excessive sillyness.

  • @Anfractuous

Although I see your point, I wouldn't change a thing in the movie.

  • @Anfractuous Yeah I know, plus they could have made away for some of the crew to make it back. I mean they can still have that awesome ending where he is ingulfed in some sort of Space time warping with the Bomb and the Sun... another thing is is that they never explain why the Sun is going out waaay behind its due date..but yeah, amazing tear jerker for sure.

  • @Anfractuous

I think it would have been cool if he didn't really even exist any more, maybe just seeing the video of him "reanimated" him, in the sense his memory was alive and still affecting the next mission

  • @Anfractuous I also found the murderous captain a stupid cliche that should not have been in there. Why add a stupid slasher element in a movie that could've been godly...

  • 8 people have no taste in awesome what so ever.

  • The movie (witch i do love dispite what im going to say) could have been on of the greatest most beautiful peices of cinema this decade but they ended up ruining the last third of the movie by making it a space slasher horror.

  • @bouncer599 I think "ruin" is probably too harsh but it did get a little wacky at the end there...

  • @Arkalius80

it was like a symphony suddenly breaking into pop music , ok ruin was to harsh but it did spoil the movie alot.

  • @bouncer599 "could have been" ?? It " could have been" heck, it WAS. and still IS.it was not just some "space slasher horror" at the end, even with a derranged killer on board, it was STILL more artisticly portrayed than in any other movie like it.

  • Loved the movie. Seriously, seriously underrated. Anyone I've shown it to has loved it, though.

  • the guitar which sounds like an typical bad sounding guitar replication effect on programmes isn't in the original?

  • so ein hammer lied

    einfach nur geil

  • The first 30 seconds always reminds me of Capa looking at Mace's dead body and then initiating the emergency seperation procedure

    epic

  • this is the nicest and greates song i ever heard and the film is the best ive ever seen in the world i everytime cry hearing this song ... thumbs up if u feeling like me .

  • 99% shield in full sunlight!

  • @iznano4nik Tell him to move! Why isn't he moving!

  • @ProjectSWOLENESS Kaneda, what can you see?

  • I think this movie is going to be remembered in Sci Fi movie history, similar to how we remember 2001 A Space Odyssey.

  • This song is aaaamazing. It puts so many situations in my head that all suit this song.

It would go nicely in looads'a films too!

  • This song is awesome! is .. wow i dont have words to describe it.. i really like it n_n =)

  • when i heard this the first thing to come to my mind was 'Run child!!" from Kick-Ass

  • @ph33rt3hn00b Now switch to Krypton LIIIIIIIIIiiiiigghht

  • @ph33rt3hn00b

weird... it should be 'Take cover Child'

  • @ph33rt3hn00b "thats cuz I used high velocity rounds child...hahaha"...

  • @Xanderfaulk low velocity

  • @quantum64 oh yeah, woops...

  • so epic and so beautiful.

  • sunshine is my faforite movie i give it a 100/100

  • What soundtrack is this one on? I can't find it anywhere! I can find the other versions but, not this one!

  • is like the music is having an orgasm with my ear :'')

  • this song feeds most delicious food into the depths of my ear

  • ONLY problem with this movie is that it was a shit ending.

Why couldn't he just make a great movie about saving humanity in a spaceship? Why did he HAVE to add the shitty horror film element with the evil religious mutant???
