  • This guy must have been blessed in his career with really fast runners that could out run weak grounders, or good hitters that already knew what they were doing.

  • absolute garbage

  • thanks for sharing your knowledge , any comment on my video will be welcomed

  • Not to metion that shit, southern drawl. Horrible!

  • I don't care if he has 50 college WS visits. He's way off the mark with his "load up" stuff.. Just look at ANY pro player. There is no "sway back" before moving forward. Amazing how people can be so successful and not know what the hell they are talking about! Hitting fungo's? Great! Let me practice hitting 100% ground balls! Perfect for a slow, big guy! Yeah, I'll hit GB's all day and be out 85% of the time. For damn sake...LOOK AT THE PRO VIDEOS!

  • is that guy in the back a judge? haha

  • This guys is a all linear. They dont want to see "squish the bug" at the higher levels. If you execute what he teaches you will not have much power

  • most of this good, except i think he goes way too far over his front foot. yes your weight needs to go forward but it goes INTO a firm front leg not out OVER it. look at most every good major league swing.

  • @livnzack AMEN

  • @livnzack who are you??? this guy went to 14 college world series and you?????

  • recentley in my games ive been making contact but not gettiung any hits. any help??

  • @jacksoncochran work on where you're hitting the ball. on the top, bottom or middle.if u keep on popping them up,look at the top of the ball and try to swing at the top and you'll hit line drives into the outfield.

Listen genius, this drills are for this purpose; to teach the body what to do through the mind. Mechanics do a hitter a great amount of good. How do you think hitter's get out of slumps? they fix their mind, but they also need to fix their mechanics. Overall the drills are to help your mind tell your body what to do sub-consciously and to develop muscle memory which allows you to hit flawlessly in the game.

  • i agree pivotting faster has truly helped my bat speed listen up guys this guy is on point

  • SadegoGG,

I agree with you, your brain trains your mind to train your body.

The thoughts one lets enter one's brain whether they be negative or positive first enter the brain then on into the mind then on into the body which acts, reacts or moves accordingly, The brain signals the mind which in turn signals the body which in turn induces movement, without signals from the brain to the mind the mind cannot send signals to the body therefore movement cannot exist.

  • I disagree with Turtle. There is no pivot. The rotation of the hips causes turn of the back foot. In fact, watch most good hitters and the tip of the toe is on the ground not the balls of your feet. The back foot will sometimes leave the ground. Pivot= lost power.

  • I'm a fan of most of what he's saying, but I disagree with his theory that the turning the foot will in turn pull the hip through the zone. You will get much more power from practicing exploding your back hip through the zone versus spinning on your foot. Think about it. Core (root of all rotational strength) vs foot.

  • i think this guy knows what hes talking about, because hes the coach garret wittels plays for who has a chance to break the all time ncaa div1 hit streak record.

  • lol if you havent noticed almost all pros have a 90 degree angle in the back leg

  • Teaching someone to hit is the worst way to make someone a good hitter in my opinion. I don't think its a coincidence that the majors have an abundance of non-typical swings (Damon, Consel, Vlad etc.) as it really is just repeating a motion you are comfortable with so you can accurately get the bat on the ball. Certain mechanics might get you more power, but hitting is 99% getting your bat to a certain spot +/- a quarter of an inch.

  • @nbachmann

In your opinion? You're stating scientific fact. Not a single mechanics teacher has ever developed a starting major league hitter out of an average high school player. Mechanics do a hitter absolutely no good, however the proper thinking does a hitter wonders. The mind is movement, and the body is a symptom of the mind. Find somebody who has a degree and actively participated in the field of human kinetics, and ask them for yourselves what causes movement: the mind or the body.

  • @nbachmann I agree 100% 2 seasons ago I had a successful year at the plate but nothing overly sepcial . I had been using the same batting stance and rutine that I had been using for years . However last season I naturally changed my stance without even noticing at first . I would get in the box , go through my rutine , find my stance and then would open it at the last minute . It was a natural move I started doing and it felt better then my original stance .

  • @realHIPHOP84 Basically what im getting at is that I dont like to cloud my head with tips and strategy ... I made a change to by swing by doing it naturally , something that was diffent but felt great . And ill be sure to continue with it next season .

  • So Many theories..

  • Weird drills, but great info.

  • People, these drills are to exaggerate the motion so that you feel the loading up and the transfer of weight.... There has to be a transfer of weight to get the optimum power and swing. No transfer and staying back, you have nothing on your swing. Common sense people

  • @juancinco12 albert pujols has no transfer, but he is also a machine.......

  • the front foot BLOCKS the momentum from the rear hip fire,,try a drill keep your weight on the back leg and swing ,,weight balanced, weight mostly on front foot..what happens to the batspeed in each swing

  • pssshh. wow. its on the front legg. drive forward. think about it, drive the ball. if you stay u, then there is no power driving forward. there is less power if you stay back.

  • are you kidding ssttcc912? you have no idea what your taking about. when you make contact most of your weight is on the front foot. take a look at white sox hitting instructor. that will show you.

  • this is way off. weight should never be on front foot.

  • Excellent video demonstration that you have. Take a look at the video from Anthony Salsedo. He is a Freshmen at Occidental College, California. He has the same posture you describe here in your video.

  • finally some drills i can do to keep my weight back!!!

  • Excellent drills to help players learn how to load and transfer.
