  • I just had this done too on my shattered left wrist - I was in terrible pain once the numbing meds wore off. Interesting to see the surgery though!

  • This poor bastard did a number on his wrist!

  • I'm still in the cast from this operation - I can barely lift my wrist :(

  • This is a DIY tutorial. O.o

"So where did you get your degree?"

    "YouTube."

  • same thing on mine

  • With this step-by-step video guide, even YOU can perform delicate wrist surgery!

  • I had this done after a motorbike accident 2/4/2011 surgeon done a good job but still hurts sometimes months later

  • i think i might need a fix up surgery. i had a "distal radius fracture" but i completely disslocated my wrist. i didnt have surgery, but my arm was straigthened and kept in that position so it could heal. i broke it like 2-3 years ago, and im suddenly getting a constant pain where my wrist meets the end of my forarm. cant bend it very much, and moving up and down kills. it also cracks much more... ANY HELP IS GREAT! :)

  • Whoa that's more extreme than doom 3

  • is this a fucking tutorial lol

    i had this surgery 10/18/10

  • How did i get here o.O

  • WHY DID I WATCH THIS

  • Man I'm trying this on my dog right now, he said attach the clamp to the hemorphoe or the apanexas?

  • (for the highest rated remark) because you are not a surgeon,, eye does not see what the mind does not know.you 10 dumb heads.......great job by surgeon. well done and god bless you.

  • I-just-had-this-dec-17-2010

  • Big words

  • GAG ME!

  • I had this surgery 2 months ago. I was wondering why it felt like someone was putting my wrist in a vice and hitting it with a hammer when the nerve block on my arm wore off, now I know why. The good news is that it didn't hurt much at all 2 days after surgery, and I am well on my way to getting back to normal.

  • @hoosfan77 Ahh you're so right, when the nerve block wore off, it was terrible! I had this surgery done on Jan. 12th of this year on my shattered left wrist (car accident) & I see you had it done a year or more ago. I know everyone's case is different, but may I ask how long it took for your wrist to return to "normal", i.e. regaining function in your hand/wrist?

  • AAAAGGGGH WTF!?!?!?!?!

  • DISTAL POLE OF CATHOID REPLACEMENT, DOE'S ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG I WILL BE OFF WORK

  • OK SPOCK I GET THE MESSAGE

  • you gotta give credit to these surgeons.. so calm and rational under a situation which most of us would freak out.

  • I had the exact same surgery.. hurt like hell, even with all the medication.

  • I had the exact same surgery... Hurt like hell, even with the meds.

  • I had the exact same surgery... Hurt like hell, even with meds.

  • what??

  • I love how hes bascially teaching people how to do it. Cause ill be doin this procedure on myself one day???

  • fuuuccckk, thats gonna hurt when the meds wear off.... :/

  • @XxGirlyNinjaXx thats a dead body homie

  • No wonder my god-damn wrist hurts so bad !

  • I really fucking hope a doctor doesnt have to watch this the day of the surgery.

  • Yikes, I'm going for this surgery tomorrow

  • Surgery all done, & feeling good. No idea how it looks as I'm all wrapped up, but not in that much pain & able to use my fingers OK. :)

  • I had this done about a month ago after slipping on ice walking out my door. I expect to be riding my crotch rocket in a couple of weeks. Know I know why the surgen had a nerve block done to the befuddlement of the resident anesthesiologist who had to call some one else in after he tortured me for like 15 minutes trying to do the nerve block but didn't know how.

I swear I can feel and almost see one of the screws throught the skin.

  • @pabacaxi I feel bad for you.........that is really a fucking torture.

  • i just burped up sick :(

  • I have a question, after the operation,

I do not have the same mobility, I can only move your hand to just can not stretch completely, again have the same mobility after surgery

excuse my writing, do not write very well English

    I hope your answer

  • I had this surgery done about 41/2 months ago. I had alot of pain, post op, though, I did have the beir block done, so that in it's self is very painful.

But, all in all, surgery went very well. Did some PT for several weeks after but certaily with doin, I regained 80% of strength n bout 90% mobility.

  • how do they stop the blood from pouring out?

  • They inflate a cuff on your arm

  • @AnimationAnimater12 you may of got a reply to this but

"how do they stop the blood from pouring out" blood only flows if a vein is severed, they have severed no veins getting to the bone.

  • @makemebadfan95 They wrap a tourniquet around the extremity that will be operated upon. Also, a visible blood vessel does not need to be severed for bleeding to occur due to the presence of microcirculation which is abundant within soft tissue.

  • do i or dont i, its my choice cuz my wrist really still hurts after 1 year ! plus can not work properly (Builder). decisions decisions. looks a tad sore

  • aaaaah fuck...

  • makes me onet some meat O.O

  • had this done, also had and external fixator and external k-wires. blows some serious goats!

  • WTF is that? a ass?

  • owwiiieee i gotta get this surgery monday

  • @w00t420 i just got it yesterday

  • what da f*** is this guy going onnabowt!?

  • thank god my growth plate just got dislocated and didnt break the doctors just had to snapp it back in to place ..........sk8 or die

  • THATS NOT REAL RIGHT!!!! please say its not

  • its been 3 months still cant move my wrist ..

  • owwee hahahh owe owe owehahahaahhhhaoweahah..thats me watching this...lol

  • If I had this to do over I would never have had this surgery. I have had nothing but problems with this and it has wrecked my hand. My pollicus longitudus tendon is partially severed, my grip is gone, my thumb doesn't work well, I have a numb palm, etc. This surgery has a 50% complication rate and a lot of times it requires additional surgery. Be careful about who performs this surgery...

  • WOW! Absolutely amazing video! Thank God we live in a time where all this is capable! I had a compound fracture of two bones above right foot! My E.R surgery took 128 minutes the day it happened.

  • cool

  • so that's what they did. lol no wonder why I cant move my thumb yet. wasn't too painful. I have felt worse. The swelling after it is the worse part. I only took 500mg Tylenol for a few days after and was fine no narcotics really needed.

  • the same here.they`ve put a plate on 2 days ago on my left wrist ,but the doctor said my wrist joints are shattered,it all depends on how the cartilage will react...in anycase good luck with your injury

  • OMFG! This is...horrible to watch!!

  • makes me wanna puke

  • i had this surgery a year ago and my wrist is still jacked up...:(

  • i had this surgery in march i shattered my arm in 30 places and had to have the plate and 9 screws the pain is still almost unbearable and i can not move my thumb at all has anyone else had this problem after this same surgery?

  • i had this surgery on april 2nd.

i also had problems moving my thumb but it has improved a lot now.

i was able to work again 4 days after surgery (as programmer) and i didnt even had to take painkillers.

but my injury wasnt as serious as yours so i guess your pain is normal. (i've only cleaved my radius at the wrist and it healed off with a stair which they corrected 1 month after the accident) the pain in the weeks after the accident was worse than after surgery.

  • Yes I had the same problem. How nice of the Doctors to warn us about this... Also great that you can't get hold of them to ask if this is normal.

  • now I know why I'm so in pain

  • wow i have no fucking idea what hes saying

  • ahah

  • @SMELLYWALRUS06 lmao. i swear one semester of anatomy class and you will now about all the bones tendons and muscles hes talking about. its not so complicated as you think

  • whoo they sliced and diced him up, cut and shut him up, FIXED AND MIXED HIM UP FUCK YEAHHH

  • is scary I had the same thing two months ago

  • what time take that surgeon?

  • depends on how many pieces the surgeons have to put together :)

    mine took about 1.5 hours.

  • woah i almost puked. no offense its just i'm not used to the inside of a human even though i am one.

  • um....yuk

  • i got this done last year in december of 2007...i always wondered what the surgery looked like...its awesome

  • i have this operation tomorrow, im shitting it now "/

  • ur fuckin retarded if u had it right then u would have been in the hospital dumbazz

  • i had this done 3 weeks ago and i had no idea how hardcore the surgery was, it didn't seem to hurt nearly as bad as i would expect from watching this and i barely took pain killers and was off them three days after the operation. I cant wait to get this cast off, only one more week!!!

  • what is that op for?

  • this is facinating!

  • i rlly just puked

  • i had one done before when i broke my arm like 6 years ago and im keeping my plates in for life and to count in total i broke my arm 3 times and needed surgery for all of them

  • fuck i just had this done to me. Wanted to see what the surgery might look like and now im not so sure i can hold down my lunch.

  • The only thing that hurts worse is childbirth, even my dual ankle surgery was not quite this painful.

  • My surgery is set for tomorrow. Wish me luck guys!!

  • ow! no wonder i'm in so much pain. had my surgery 3 weeks ago but needed heavy duty pain meds for 2.5 weeks. i had a shoulder block so the first 12 hours were pain free. my cast comes off in two weeks. i have full feeling in my hand.

  • yo tengo esa misma fractura y perdi mi mano ...les recomiendo no dejar la muñeca quita ,,moverla desde el momento en que medio puedan

  • I had this done 4 days ago! I'm glad I didn't watch this before I went in, although it is amazing how they fix it. As others have said before, the pain within 12-16 hours of reovery was intense. I went back to my GP the next day to get morphine. Great clip.

  • look likes theres 100 way u can mess up lol. it look confusing, its amazing how they know what there doing

  • I broke my right wrist three weeks ago. Radius and Ulna

  • I had a similar operation 2 weeks ago, I broke my radius as well. I'm happy that I didn't know how it looks like before the operation. I hope my hand will recover completly, until now I can't move my hand like before..and it hurts.

  • MAAAAAAAANNN!!! Lucky guy! I fractured my wrist about 4 monts ago and had a titanium/alluminum alloy plate put in and fixed with four screws! When I woke up it wasnt that bad but 2-3 hours later it started to hurt and by night time I was requestin morphine because the pain was killing me! Instead they gave me an elefant sized dose of tramadol! But now I'm all good and thank god my left wrist is too, only a bad ass scar remains! And a story to tell mu kids and grandkids!

  • screw the animated version!!!

  • I wonder if that hurt whe he wake up :S

  • yes it did they gave me valum to take and it still hurt like hell for a couple of days

  • i mean vicodin not valum sorry

  • omg i almost cried as soon as i woke up..but the nurses gave me drugs ASAP. something in my IV and some pills. i was feeling AWESOME afterwards. took a vicodin every 4 hours and i was golden

  • i was conscious during the whole op (plexus anesthesia) and my whole arm was paralyzed for 12 hours.

the first night when the pain set in i didnt ask for enough painkillers. couldnt sleep well until i got them in the morning. feels like pulsating stings and burning inside the arm along the cut. but after 3 days i didnt feel any pain at all (without pk)

    breaking/brusing ribs is more painful

  • how could u say thats gross thats amazing and i want to be that type of surgen when i grow up since i broke my arm so many times and if its gross why are u watching it sc12aped

  • Mmmm..this came out well OH shiiittt shitt shit!

  • that is gross omg i almost threw up blah omg

  • i'm recovering from this very surgery. i had it about 3 weeks ago. i thought i was gonna die the night after surgery it hurt so bad...now i know why. this is hardcore.

  • Hi everyone!

This isn't me...but it is the exact same surgery I had 6 weeks ago.

    No wonder it hurts, huh?

  • and if he woke up!!!!!!

  • ...DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME...

  • I had this very surgery. It took a while to get my full motion back, but physical therapy helped A LOT.

  • i broke my raius.

  • im having this done next thursday. my radius didnt heal right. i hope it goes well

  • i broke my radius and ulna 2 week ago.. but my wrist still cannot move freely .. anyone got any advise for me?

  • punch the wall 20 times and your good to go

  • lmafao

  • renzzbone

    how is your wrist feeling?

has it improved. i had this surgery 6 weeks ago

  • Let it heal. Get physical therapy if you can. It really really helps.

  • if you let it heal you wont have to do any thing like that?

cause that looks like it hurts like hell

  • It does hurt like hell. Lol.

  • oh yes. let me tell you. I gotta ask tho, did you have any loss of feeling in your hand? because i had mine done yesterday and couldn't feel my thumb at night. it's starting to return, though

  • Yeah. With me, if I moved my thumb, my arm would get all twitchy and stuff. If it doesn't get better, call your dr.

  • Fantastic learning video

  • I had this done 5 weeks ago, right wrist, after falling on ice on my front steps. I am beginning to wonder if my wrist will ever be close to the same again. It still hurts to move it at all, and I can only do tiny movements, and I can feel the hard plate on the underside of wrist where the incision was. Anyone else have similar experience? Thanks for posting this video.

  • i broke my radius and ulna like 5 weeks ago too at the state wrestling tournament and had to have 2 plates put in. My healing is coming along so far, but it's stiff as hell

  • gREAT! NOW I AM A QUALIFIED WRIST SURGEON!

  • i just had this done about three weeks ago. Mine is closer to my elbow

  • how long is this surgery

  • I had this same thing done in Jan, I was told it took about an hour. But I had 4 breaks and carpal tunnel release done.

  • it took an hour and a half for me and i only had the plate put in

  • i can now do this like a pro thx to this video!!

  • I had this done last wednesday. Good thing I didn't watch it beforehand.

  • thanks for the video, same operation has I behind me
