To answer your question...I'd say a little of both...but definitely more on constantly practicing and learning from other gifted singers. I've been singing since I was like 5 years old (my dad and his whole family all sing, so you can say I got it from him) and when I began joining choirs and groups, I learned from them as well.

Just to add also...I haven't taken formal lessons, but I guess you can say I'm informally trained from the past choir directors I've sang for. They taught me A LOT. A lot of singing is breathing technique. Plus I love music, I'm also a DJ, so DJ'ng played a role too in training me how to hear different parts in a song and break it down.
