  • nice jugglinggg

  • @ChoLinMusic Nice music on your channel too!

  • aww i wish I was that awesome :( my one handed sucks though :(

  • @Vegichi3 Practice makes perfect!

  • @careygly correction pratice makes permanent

  • what song is this

  • @Guinepigsrock The song is in the credits at the end. It's "A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics" by James Horner from "A Beautiful Mind"

  • Wow! Great multitasking

  • @lin2k4 LOL, true that!

  • I don't know whether he was the guy or not but I hope you can either help me or point me in the right direction with the guy's name so I can search it.

Thank you so much and I appreciate your time and God Bless.

  • @bluestreak711

Please send me a message with your

    email address.

  • @bluestreak711 I think you're referring to on that's basically an extension of the fish, correct? Here's what I use, only uses LRU faces, and swaps the two corners shared between the R and U faces (and two edge pieces as well, but I don't think you care for your algorithm, which sounds like the Fridrich algorithm): L'URU'LU2R'URU2R'

  • @zanfur I finally figured it out after much rewriting of the algorithm i saw. I came up with this algorithm , which was the one i was looking for.

    F R' F L2 F' R F L2 F2

  • I think it is possible that your friend made that instructional video I originally learned from but I am not sure.

All I remember is that he was Chinese or Japanese , he wore glasses and I think the guy in the video said he held the world record for a one handed solve and he said if i can solve the cube in under a minute with one hand you should be able to do it within five minutes with two hands.

  • the Faces i used in the algorithm were the L face, the R face, and the U face, maybe the D face but I am not sure. the variations i have seen use the B face and I don't like those and they don't work well. after I use that algorithm all i have to do is solve the center pieces and those are easy, i remember how to do those.

Please help, it is kind of sickening and frustrating to be able to solve the rubix cube not much over a minute and not hardly be able to do it at all now.

  • i usually start with the white side, I solved the first 2 layers and the the all yellow pieces (opposite side) , with no need of the corner or edge pieces in the correct spot., i do that by getting my L , then my line, then my cross, then my fish,

the next step is what i can't remember., i would hold my cube with at least 2 solved corners on the L face, then i would perform an algorithm to solve the last to corners, i have seen a few variations but it is not what i am looking for.

  • PLEASE HELP ME... I am a speed cuber with a personal best of 00:01:14.1 I stopped solving for a couple of months and I forgot one of my key algorithims, please help me remember what it was. it is either one or two that i forgot and I can't find the same method anywhere. I learned it from a video either on expert village or ehow and i can't find that video any more. i'll give a short description of what i need in the next comment.

  • aww you dropped it once! thats pretty impessive though

  • umm I go to First Avenue middle school right now which is where Macky went I heard stories about him a lot from the teachers. I am applying to poly tech right now. I was wondering if Macky could give a tip or two

  • What kind of tips are you looking for? I can certainly ask him, or hook you up with some other cubers closer to your age.

  • not really a tip for cubing just applying to poly tech because I'm that good of a cuber

  • I passed your message along to him. Good luck!!

  • thank you so much

  • no yeah then you try doing doing it

  • That's awesome... in the most literal sense of the word.

  • I'll let him know. Thanks!

  • nice job!!!

  • awesome, now solve three doing the same thing.

  • Be careful what you wish for! :-)

  • That. Was. So. Amazing. I'm completely awe-struck!

That just made my day :)

  • I'm really glad you liked it. Have a nice weekend.

  • Very impressive.

  • Thanks! I'll pass that along.

  • Do you think he is right handed or left handed?

  • I'm not sure. I'll ask him and let you know.

  • This was Macky's response to my email:

"To answer the Youtube question, I'm right-handed. Most right-handed

cubers use the left hand for one-handed solves.

    Best wishes for 2009,

    -macky"

  • Thanks for answering.

  • electronic rubiks cube?

  • Nope, plain old classic Rubik's cube!

  • WOW! That was quite impressive!

  • Thanks Elizabeth. I might get him to do it at our booth next year! LOL :-)

  • that was cool :D

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • Lol i remember him doing this at math day at the beach a looooooong time ago.

  • Did you invite him over for dinner ?

  • Music?

  • Ah, never mind. Saw the credits :)

  • Yeah, I thought the song from the movie "A Beautiful Mind" was appropriate!

  • It's only been a few years, but he looks so much older.

  • Yes,

From the video of his Wr to now, he has changed a lot...

  • Uh, he's 18 now ? that was when he was 12.

  • I love watching him do that

  • good ...
