    BRRUP-BLOOP-BILP-BLERP-BLOP-BEEP!

  • I like how the underground music played during the water stage.

  • The Underworld music sounds like a combo of the Underwater SMB music and part of the music from Kraid's Lair in the NES Metroid.

  • can someone extract the extended 1-UP sound, this would be a wicked text message tone.

  • where can i play this version of mario reply please

  • The extended 1-up sound is actually the mushroom growing sound slowed down really slow. That's really what it is!

  • 4:28 for the extended 1-up sound

  • i hate the code ZEANLY

  • Try "SHASHA" Game Geine (its wierd)

  • 0:59 Underwater in the underworld? Ha ha ha. This makes me wanna laugh my *** off.

  • 0:44 Underworld music? On flag pole? Epic fail.

  • Do I hear SMB3 Music? How did THAT get in there?

  • I haven't seen any comments that have correctly identified the sound that sounds like a 1UP.

It's not the 1UP sound fused with the powerup sound, and it's not some mysterious, extended 1UP sound effect that wasn't used in the official release.

It's the mushroom/fire flower/starman powerup sound slowed down and nothing else.

  • @melisluv06 ...with an 1up sound at the end that's slowed down too.

  • @melisluv06 ...with the 1up sound at the end that's slowed down too. This sound also has a higher pitch.

  • 2:43

  • @RCVideo3 : ) *votes up*

  • The epic remix of doom!

  • one code is obvious, IT TELLS YOU TO STOP(PP)

so do what the nes man tells u 2 do and it will all work out,

personally i liked this winning theme better

  • @sowhazupguy

    STOPPP rearranges the level themes.

  • extended 1up sound wtf?

  • the mysterious 1up noise is the growing sound fused with the 1up sound played at super slow motion

  • I MUST try this out!

  • This is enough to make me want a Game Genie. It'd be enough to make my sister wonder what the hell's going on in my room. XD

  • has anybody noticed that the only sound effects that remain in tune with the game r the 1-up and castle clear tunes

  • 0:47-0:49 makes me laugh for some reason.

  • mix ONOPIE and IYNUGS and try and play with that! ;)

  • That sounds lik a screwed up NES to me.

  • WTF? the intro of the boss theme of Megaman 3 at 0:52?

  • @ONLYFOXYLADIES

You just heard the castle music randomly sped-up, that's all.

  • This is what hell sounds like in Super Mario Bros. Land. :D

  • Stoppp?

  • the sounds in the music are from the IKAAAE code 0_o

  • @Taz100000000

not to be rude but in case you havent noticed, its not allstars because if it was, it wouldnt be 8-bit now would it?

  • Music all the time codes:

    For water - enter KAEPYO

For ground (overworld) - enter AYEPYP

For underground (underworld) - enter PTEPYP

    For castle - enter PAEPYP+AAEOAO

    For cloud/star - enter TPEPYO

  • oh my fave song how did u know?

  • ROM values affected:

STOPPP changes the default value (0xE7) at address 0x1121 (CPU $9111) to 0xE5.

ZEANLY changes the default value (0xA9) at address 0x779B (CPU $F78B) to 0x02.

  • codes to make it extremly glitchy

    zeanly

    stoppp

    pigpog

    ikaaae

    loopis

    omg so glitchy =]

  • I tried. Looks like mario is on crack, shrooms, and pot all at once.

  • Here's an interesting thought... If you listen to your IKAAAE video, the Zelda sound effect happens in fast motion when you get your first mushroom. Also, it perfectly fits the chords of the flagpole theme.

    Strange, isn't it?

  • LOL.

I'm going to get a Game Genie, just to do stuff like this.

  • i never knew why in this video bowser turned into a dead goomba

  • dang some of that sounded like game-and-watch sounds

  • i know one

    killlu

so you can get weird stuff

  • That code can warp you level by level if you press "B" when you're Super or Fiery Mario.

  • which zelda game were you talking about?

  • Number #1 from 1987.

  • I think I have an explanation for this: These codes are making the music have erratic tempo/instrument set. The other effect of them, I suspect, Is trying to play ANOTHER song at the same time, using the second sound layer, used for sound effects. This makes all the different notes a different sound effect due to the fact that the instrumentset hasn't been changed. This is just my theory, I don't know anything about how SMB's audio works.

  • Another suspicion: It might just be shifting everything up a (few) channel(s). This would explain why only the harmony/bass/drums are in most of the songs, without the lead, and the odd sounds/beeps are going so erratically; the SE track may just be a single channel, with each note set to a different SE. Again, just a theory >_>

  • My theroy is there's a string of whatever in the data.

Let's say the string that tells when and what the overworld plays fofr each channel is called MUSHROOMAG1.This code overwrites part of it, making an effect like MUSHUNDER1-UP.

This causes the game to spaz out, obviously.

  • The only 2 that stay the samea re FLAGPOLE amdUP.

You see,I think after the flagpole finish, the 1-up would play.Comparing:

    Flagpole:DodododododoDODododododododoDODOdoodododododoDODOODOO DOOOOO!

    1-up:dadaddadDADE!

    Glitch 1-up sound:DoodoodoodoodaDOODOOdooodooodooodododDOOODOOOdodododdadadedodaDE!

  • my theory is that this is ear rape and he really f***ed up this game bad

  • 4:28 <3

  • Good thing the code didnt "STOPPP" the game and make it crash.

  • But "STOPIT" will.

  • @smroWfonaC Bad pun

  • sweetest 1up sound ever!

  • You know what the STOPPP code did? It swapped the following songs around:

Overworld BGM = Starts out normal and shortly after it changes to Bonus Stage/Invincible BGM

Scene Movement BGM = Koopa Stage BGM

    Underground BGM = Underwater BGM

Koopa Stage BGM = Overworld BGM

Bonus Stage BGM = Underground BGM

    Underwater BGM = Underground BGM

  • and ZEANLY just completely ****ed the music up

  • I'd like to see him re-do this presentation using the VXNNYV code.

  • what that code

  • It screws up all of the music... but in a different way. No tune is heard when your character dies.

  • @ClassicTVFan82

    VXNNYV f***ed up the music!

  • Yeah, the 1-Up sound is awesome! They should have used that, it sounds more exciting. "HEY, I JUST GOT AN EXTRA LIFE!!!!"

  • i have a headache now.. XDD

  • GASP! Bowser's a Goomba in disguise?! Who would've thought? The 1-UP sound was cool :D

  • The first seven Bowsers are actually regular enemies in disguise. Only the one at the end of world eight is genuine. About the 1-up sound, I wonder if that was what the designers orginially intended to use, but got shortened for unknown reasons?

  • Yeah, that makes sense. But how crazy would it be if the most feared bad guy in the Mushroom Kingdom was nothing more than a Goomba in a fire-brething costume?! O.O

  • You need to RIP that 1-up sound! You'll take the Mario fan community by storm!!!

  • @ElBlocko Game genie corruption.

  • I can't believe you killed these songs...

But that Zelda One-Up is very cool sounding!

  • It's actually the entire flagpole theme and then the 1-UP sound itself.

  • it could also possibly be the power-up slowed way down... then the 1-up stuck on...

  • It's the Flagpole ditty then the 1-up.

  • The so-called "flagpole ditty" is known as the "Course Clear Fanfare."

  • OMG! That was really cool! Lol, Link has collected an extra life. Hilarious, I love how the music is mixed up, but, it kinda gives me a headache... Ow.
