  • This video is just a guide. It's all up to us how we execute it. I like well cooked eggplant so I intend to cook it with the meat and sauce. I would also use a pressure cooker to cook the oxtail since I like very tender meat. I appreciate the recipe because it gave me a starting point.

  • I don't like kare kare when I was young but when i moved to Japan, I missed all our foods. I had kare kare from Philippine restaurant and it was good! Now I want to learn and this video helps a lot,I like the way how you prepare and very easy to understand.Thank you!!!!You"re the BEST!!!

  • @jmiempi Because you used too much achuette (the yellow coloring) which upset your stomach and was not able to digest the nuts properly.

  • For the record, Kare Kare is a not totally a filipino delicacy. It was passed on to the pinoys by the Indians. Its known to be a curry type dish but ended up being kare kare.

  • @shitparader Even if you ask most of the people who appreciate vegetables, is that they prefer "crunchy" veggies, which is the correct way in preparing and serving. Dunno which part of the philippines you grew up kuya. Pero just so you know lutong luto na un gulay :), exceeding the time he cooked it will make the veggie "labsak"+ nutrients will die. You can do your suggestion but many people will criticize and laugh at you if you show a video that you over cook vegetables on purpose.

  • @ENIO11 nah, i don't agree with you, THERE ARE A THOUSAND WAYS to prepare a certain dish because a lot of people have different variations, for example my adobo will be different from your adobo, my sinigang will look like a sinigang but will taste different with your sinigang. What matters most is the end product is palatable, edible and presentable. That way it will be considered as goodfood, you'll never be a good cook if thoughts in cooking is very narrow, which hinders growth.

  • Another thing if we follow your mentality. For example you grew up in an environment that jolly spaghetti is the flavor of the spaghetti that people around you cooks, then someone with a spaghetti with Mcdo flavor gave you a spaghetti, and its new to your taste buds, what will you say? they cooked it wrong? Man, just want to tell those people who think they are "GODS of COOKING", there are many ways to prepare a dish don't be so narrow minded to think that your "VERSION" is the right thing.

  • @janceejance If you are having a hard time using peanuts you can use unsweetened peanut butter but make sure it is fully dissolved in water before adding it. It can be very deceiving if just put in the stew as it will take form like beef and it will fool you.

  • @randz1987lui I cook it the same way. It's more flavor. :) As long as you remove the scum your good to go. Ox tail is very lean too.

  • i brought peanut butter for kare-kare from the philippines...i bought it in the Grocery store, meron n sila mama sita's peanut butter for kare-kare nasa pouch...i guess it's the same with the [peanut butter for kare-kare n nabibili s palengke n kinikilo lng.. ung wala pang timpla...

And my favorite Bagoong(Sweet).

    ako ginigisa ko ung bwang at sibuyas then add ko ung pinalambot n ox tail and ox tripe. i also use ung peanut butter s palengke ung wala pang lasa or peanut butter s grocery with low sugar content, coconut milk gamit ko pampalapot mas creamy, then atsuete powder. Sinasama ko lng ung gulay n pre boiled n or half cooked then pinapakuluan ko uli ng kahit 1 minute para lumasa ung karekare s gulay...and i use barrio fiesta bagoong
