  • I'm sorry, this is a ridiculous issue and shows how out of touch with main stream america these folks have become. Energy runs the world, no alternative of note is currently available, just the truth. If oil prices spike because of instability all our other programs from health to education will take the hit, they already are hurting, so why focus on a pipeline over basically nimby reasons. Oil will be sold, deal with it, you have no solutions, just objections.

  • protesting against something humanity runs on, fucking stupid, fucking hippies, go back to ur trees and have a salad

  • @CryptWarrior69

Bingo, these folks think buying a prius saves the world. Sorry, the numbers don't add up anymore with a prius than with trying to ban a pipe line, the reason these folks have zero credibility is they ignore the numbers. If you cry about disaster and you have no solutions and you are protesting something that makes basically no difference in the equation, then of course you are going to look like you are crying wolf.

  • LETS SEE YOU PUSH THE CAR 10 FEET! ya lets see you walk a mile in the cars shoes!

  • @masterbawth we all need oil, and albertas is the best in the world!

  • Pipelines like the KeystoneXL are tricks for the classic organized Big Insurance Scammers: they buy land & homes around+under the pipeline, insure it to the max and then:BOOOOMMM! , this was the case in the classic Millenium Pipeline in NYC, right before 9/11 and where the landlords were also the partners of Silverstein and Goldman from the WTC , luckily Gov.Pataki and Mayor Giuliani got the facts : the pipeline did not have any manual valves to stop the gas : they had build a human grill !

  • Obviously these people don't have jobs ..who has the time sit all goddamned day holding a stupid sign and displaying your total ignorance of the pipeline.I guess you nitwits want us back in the stone age hunting and gathering in our loincloths.Of course you wouldn't let us cook our hunted game over an open flame because that too would cause global warming. Try as you may..the pipeline will be built and it will keep you lazy bastards from freezing in the dark.

  • Don't forget, you're giving future generations a bad example on wise stewardship of God's creation. Maybe you should just throw down your picket signs and get out of the nation's capital before you get yourself into even more trouble with the feds.

  • What a bunch of tools. Telling me to go to Washington D.C. to sit all day holding a dumb "No Keystone XL Pipeline" sign? Ahahaahaha. Driving 100+ miles (uses fossil fuels) to have a "peaceful" protest that we all know is not gonna change anything. Another way aging hippies show how stupid they are.

  • Shame on the arrests!!! We should be FREE to protest.

Wish I could be there in support. Thank you for your invaluable voices!

  • Tck Tck Tck Obama

    Times up

  • @stuenva

yea? I'd love to see the green movement actually come out and make this clear, you want to make the first black president of america a one term president based on an empty symbolic green gesture?

  • I really wish that people would stop using the term "civil disobedience" when referring to the exercise of rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Amendment 1: "Congress shall make no law prohibiting…the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

As far as I'm concerned, the police violate the U.S. Constitution when they arrest peaceful protesters.

  • This pipeline will raise gas prices in the states that it runs through, hitting un and underemloyed people the hardest.

Equivalent to an additional $4 billion-A-YEAR going from American wallets to Canadian and Multinational Corporations. Construction jobs are temporary, repair jobs.. probably recurring, yes, but this is no permanent solution to an economy that is broken for many reasons. We need jobs that make us thrive in lice and society.

[statistic from the House Energy Commerce Committee]

  • America does not need foreign countries running leaking pipelines through our sovereign rebel states. Real grassroots Republicans and Democrats are protesting in outrage over congress's inaction on Green Jobs and no more oil subsidies. Renewable technology has proven to produce more jobs, pay more money than fossil fuels, safer, better and more efficient than oil, coal and gas.

  • When the government's action is no longer in the general interest, we must question the social contract we live under.

Highest praise for all of you from Australia and around the world!

  • yea! Represent Vermont! Keep up the great work.

  • What happened with the people that got arrested?

  • Thank you all for your brave efforts. Reminds me of the great 60s and 70s. Gives me hope. We can all live with less than we have. We can all use less than we use. Go to Africa and learn. Anne S

  • It's a little too passive, but I truly appreciate your collective will and courage. This doesn't really show the immensity and gravity of the situation. Having said that, just a little film editing and a great orator and you will explode!

I'd march in a heartbeat or play a show.

  • Amazing....thankyou every single person who took part. A very sad sight to see peaceful protesters being arrested...but with such dignity!!

  • Finnally an action that makes a clear stand.Keep it up! We should do this more and more.(They shouldnt arrest people for standing yust there? whats that about?) Block the gates of the gov/comapnies responsible. Globally..at the belo Monte Dams in Brazil..in DC..in europe..and we have the RIGHT to do so. The authorities dont seem to care..they keep us busy. We have to act. TAKE A STAND!

  • Sent video response about protests in Russia.

  • could you put notes that say who is speaking? famous people that I dont recognize.... I saw Dan Choi but this guy at the end.. who is he?

  • Wish I could do the same protest on the west coast, love you all!

  • Amazing work - thank you all so much for your sacrifice! It is greatly appreciated, and I'm sharing this with everyone I know.

  • I am so moved by watching this action. I wish I could be there with you.

  • You people are awsome!!! You are all very brave and I wish I could be there with you.

    :)

  • Thank you all. I wish I could have been there.

  • Wish I could be there in support. You are all heroes!! Thank you from all of us!!! xoxo

  • But where does the human energy come from to do what you suggest. I believe the President can shut it down... this is just what needs to be done, what his core voters want him to do... Do Something Big. Make a Difference... do what he said he would do... Protect our Eaarth.

  • Couldn't all of this energy be better directed towards lobbying for more money to subsidize alt energy, like more efficient batteries and photovoltaic panels? It's pretty obvious that the president can't shut down a pipeline, it would be very unpopular with a lot of voters, and hes gearing up for reelection time. Also it would be major reason for oil speculators to jack up the price of gas. Oil companies are already doing themselves damage. They've left a niche for alt energy and fuel efficiency

  • Standing up for your convictions and our planet - congratulations from Down Under!

  • Emergency! Alternative Energy. Search; Bear for President. Yosemitebear, The Double Rainbow Guy!

  • excellent. keep up the good work. maybe we can halt the craziness and give future generations a chance

  • Throw bodies into the authoritarian system to be arrested until they have no more room, and keep coming. I'd be there if I could spare the cost of the trip.

May they run out of things to tie hands together before the arresting is done!

  • I have documented the Michigan sand tar spill, i was a worker and i was told to bury oil. they planted grass over the oil. This sand tar oil killed every fish in a 40 mile river. my you tube videos show the lies from these companies and the sickness of the community. I beg of you to watch you tube videos (JOHN BOLENBAUGH) to see with your own eyes.

  • I felt the point that protesters should have to be there doing that. It's so very true. They're making a sacrifice to make a difference, but we've seen many recently seen that when people organize with a clear purpose, they have enormous power (q.v. Wisconsin's labour movement, Egypt's protests, and many historical examples).

  • With you in spirit!

  • Bill, you are my hero. I love you. :)

  • Very well made! And what a fast turnaround!

  • Pipelines??? it's a decoy, it's going to be a railway to the coast, Bc & Alaska, then down the coast to the refineries and across to China...

  • Great stuff, more people need to know about this and get involved - no matter where they live.

  • Very brave people! They deserve our attention and the utmost respect.

  • was that rob shetterly at 1:40?
