MMA could've been great but its got so many damn rules and regulations now it seems only the cagiest(sic) and defensive fighters can win. If I was in MMA i'd want to be allowed to whatever I want, break necks, eye gouge, kick em in the nuts....and furthermore i'd expect the same from my opponent. it'll never achieve mainstream success like boxing in the 60s & 70s because at times it is deadly dull to watch for the passing fan. I can appreciate the idiosyncracies of it but think i'm in minority
@1980redkremlin What you're talking about is gladiator fighting dude. That's messed up. If that stuff was allowed in MMA it would be shut down so fast. and MMA is the fastest growing sport on the planet. It's already surpassed what boxing was in the 60's and 70's.
It certainly has not surpassed boxing in the 60s and 70s mate. Check out the purses involved for winning in the UFC. Ali was making more than that in 1973.
I enjoy it but I think it could be bigger and more popular if they favoured the more aggressive fighters. There are a lot of guys currently involved who can put you to sleep(figuratively and literally) and it doesn't make for good Tv. The question I guess is does MMA cater to the casual tv viewer(or even arena spectator) or will they forever be content with their own loyal fanbase?

FAKE! NO PRO WRESTLING MOVES WILL WORK IN A REAL FIGHT! ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO HURT YOU BECAUSE ITS ALL FAKE. Aikido is the most real martial arts and very effective in cage.
@jaguar004: Not true. I've seen someone do a Belly To Belly Suplex in mma and broke his opponant's arm with it. Not to mention the Rampage Jackson Powerbomb which won him the match.
@jaguar004 I totally agree with you. Aikido is SO effective in the cage. That's probably why all the top fighters in the UFC have black belts in Aikido.
@jaguar004 And you're right it's totally impossible to hurt someone with pro wrestling moves. That's why no one in pro wrestling has ever had any kind of serious injury.
@Nobbleykyle "it's totally impossible to hurt someone with pro wrestling moves". thats completely wrong. lots of the moves are unbelievably painful (i speak from experience) like 450/630 splashes, victim kicks, power bombs (not that painful but they do hurt bad), shooting star sentons, the list goes on and on. it also hurts when you are slammed onto thumb tacks (yes, the thumb tacks are real).
@Nobbleykyle "That's why no one in pro wrestling has ever had any kind of serious injury." Some people who have bean seriously injured wrestling are owen hart, brian onge (both died), hayabusa (landed on his head and is paralyzed), steve austin (broke his neck with a pile driver and led to his retirement), and there are there ssoooo many more that i would be here for ever if i were to name them all.
@Nobbleykyle Like every pro wrestler I have ever heard of has had some kind of serious injury. Bret Hart: Severe concussion. Shawn Micheals: Terrible back injuries. Steve Austin: Broken neck. Triple H: Blew his knee. Rey Mysterio: Blew his knee. John Cena: Tore his pec off his shoulder.
Whatever dude.

@RoSs3897 I know dude. I'm a huge wrestling fan. I was being sarcastic towards this other guy who said you couldn't get injured in pro wrestling.

Disgraceful showing from Danny Mitchell. The judges really had their heads up their asses when they called that fight a draw!
