It's them who are the fathers of the genre, and they were on stage since late '80, long before Necrophagist was formed. Historical heads up - the metal bands that initiated these styles in general through the 80s and 90s fought "genres" because it was all about marketing and not music... and im always how astounded when fans of metal these days are just so anal about genres. Listen to the band, and like it on its own merits. Death, Technical, metalcore, whatthefuck ever. Just listen to it and if you find something in it, keep listening. If not, move on to something else.
