As I can see, most of you are not educated. Uzbeks are Tajiks! Around 75 years ago or so, Russia invaded a country called Bukhara and splited them into 5 pieces/countries which are now Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. I know this because my all my grandparents are from there. Just like Afghanistan the Bukhara country had more than one language Uzbeki (Turkish language) and Tajiki (Farsi language).

If you go into details..Afghanistan wasn't Afghanistan not too long ago. It was part of them Bukhara until it got mixed with many different race including Indians. what are u talking friend? I have very nice Tajik speaking friends in Uzbekistan. They talk with each other in Tajik language, but we don't care. I was many times in Bukhara and Samarkand, there are ppl are bilingual.Even Uzbeks know Tajik language. It is better to be odam with good adab, than caring about nationality.

So, my suggestion is not get pissy about it, and to click on video response to this video. There you will hear Feruza singing about her nationality. She sings that she is a daughter of Uzbeks and of the land of Khorazm. Don't believe me? Click on the video response. Note, she is not singing that she is a proud Tajik, or daughter of sunny Khorasan or proud Pamiri highlander. She is singing about what she is. An Uzbek, from Uzbek populated Khorazm. You can get mad at me. But watch the response.

You have much more chances to find a Tajik speaker in Moscow or other Russian cities than in Khorazm. Because, there is no Tajik population in Khorazm, and no Tajiks move to Khorazm. Tajiks move to Russia though. To sweep streets, work in construction and to sell drugs. So, your chances of finding a fellow Tajik in Russia are 99% higher than in Khorazm. That's just the way it is. You can mark down this comment just like you did with my previous ones, but it won't change the reality.

Hey, guys. I suggest you a simple solution. If Khorazm is a Tajik populated area, why don't you buy a tour to Uzbekistan, come to Khorazm as a tourist, and try to communicate in Tajik with any street vendor, farmer, or child. Anyone. Good luck with that. They speak Oghuz dialect of Uzbek, which is close to Turmen and Anatolian Turkish. If you speak Tajik only you won't be able even to buy a bag of sunflower seeds.

She has a few songs in Tajik, but she can't speak it. Because she is from Khorezm, and there are no Tajiks there. There are many Tajiks in Samarqand and Bukhara, but none in Khorezm. Of course, if you take a Tajik highlander from Pamir and Uzbek semi-nomad from steppe to the west of Tashkent you will see that one looks Caucasian, has big eyes, bigger nose, more body hair, and that the other has thin eyes, high cheek bones, and no hair on his chest. But if you take the majority of Uzbek and Tajik population in Uzbekistani cities and towns you will be able to spot Iranian and Mongoloid features in both. And unless they tell you their nationality you won't know who they are.

That is why many Afghans have a perception that all Uzbeks look Mongol. In reality, settled Uzbeks in Uzbekistan are extremely close to Tajiks. Same clothing, same food, same music, same religion, same customs. The only difference is the language and some racial features that are hard to spot.

Your "formula" Uzbek->Turk->Mughalmanad is wrong by definition. The correct formula would be Sogdian+Khorezmian+Turk=Uzbek. Uzbeks of Uzbekistan are a mixture of ancient Iranian population and Turks who came to Central Asia later. Majority of Uzbeks in Uzbekistan look like Feruza, because they a lot of Iranic blood. There are also some Uzbeks who stayed nomads, and did not mix with locals much. They look Mongoloid because they have less Iranic blood. Uzbeks in Afghanistan are from this group.

The girl is Uzbek. It is you who does not know how Uzbeks look like. Uzbeks from different provinces look different. She is from Khorezm, which is in Western Uzbekistan. There is virtually no Tajik population in Khorezm. The only language spoken in that area is Turkic. Uzbeks in Afghanistan have many Mongol features. Uzbeks in steppes around Samarqand too. Uzbeks in Farghona valley have a completely different face structure. Uzbeks from Tashkent have their own distinct look too.
