When turned that radio on I saw 12.4 volts. That is low voltage for that radio! If you were on low power it would be OK If you go above 5 watts it will NOT put out the cirrect wattage and stay at 5!
@KC8YOQ ===> It looks like he's mobile with that 1900. So he is reading 12.3volts from his battery supply of the vehicle. I think you are talking what watts he might be using, which I didnt see in the display. I think the FT1900 can reach a 55watt max.
Do all 2 meter radios have scan ability? I'm considering studying for my ham ticket since I like talking on the CB but no one but an occasional truck driver to talk to. Biggest issue is me manually scanning the 40 channels for a convo. Would be nice if CB had a scan feature.
@meangreen69Nova There are CB radio's out there that scan all 40 channels at the push of a button. The Cobra 18WXSTII is one and also has a "dual scan" feature as well.
@Sunny441 Thanks, was not aware the Cobra 18WXSTII had a scan on it. The only radios I knew of with a scan were the Magnum 257 and the Omegaforce models but they're not true CB's. But I appreciate the info. By the way, I passed my tech exam last Saturday, and as of today the FCC added me to the amateur radio operators. I can't wait to get me a 2 meter radio.
i fell asleep did i miss anything

@clipdan Yeah I see, they're also fairly new radios. Seems like it took CB forever to get up to speed.
