if they can't play any nirvana then they should at LEAST pick something relevant to the time, like the melvins or soundgarden, like they say in the vid
I'm looking for a documentary I watched about Nirvana. I can't remember the title but the scene I remember most is a man standing in the rain, and telling the camera about the melvins van. And he shows the camera a mural Kurt had drawn on their van. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? And if so, can someone give me the title?
@KurdtKobain09 Box set titled 'With the Lights Out.' Some brief footage of Nirvana in Iowa City with a van in the rain. I'm thinking that's it, but it's been years since I've seen it.
@iscafan nah man, that's not it. I own that boxset. That's with Chad Channing. and the one I'm looking for is an actual documentary on the band. But thanks anyway (:
@RealHipHopTunes well, realhiphoptunes, (not to judge by name, lol). That was earwig's drag, a song by a band that kurt liked. its actually alt, not pop rock. they actually are really chill and nirvana-esque in their less poppy songs. as a nirvana fan, i suggest you check em out.
I don't really know much about Nirvana (i was born a couple years after Kurt died) so I decided to watch a documentary. I was put off by the accent and no music -:(
I could tolerate the music, but making a Nirvana documentary with a female voice-off with a british accent is like having Ozzie Ozbourne hosting a tv show about knitting...
k, may as well just not have music if its not nirvana in a fucking movie about nirvana.. this shit sounds like the chunks of puke falling out of my ass because i fecal vomited, splatting on some guys face and then his whining afterwards
some of these docs aren't bad but it's a REAL let down to have no original Nirvana music included.those boy bands with guitars which they chose instead kills the atmosphere entirely.
okay, so you couldn't get the rights to the actual music, that's no excuse to fill every second with crappy...it's not even knock off it's just random, music
were going through another 'manufactured' pop period...with beieber and gaga and jason derulo etc....does that mean another nirvana is coming around the corner? i hope so
The song in the intro is called Drag by the band earwig. The song during the rest of the documentary where it says 'ill move onto the next nirvana, im not bored just unspired' is called Two dragons by Earwig.
Does anyone besides Courtney have control over this material? I was thinking that perhaps Dave and Krist might receive some royalties, since they collaborated on a few songs. I know that Love took them to court a few yrs ago but I'm not sure who won the case...
Courtney gets 75% of all royalties (aside from a percentage she sold off), Dave and Krist split 25% each. And according to Courtney, Frances is just entitled to 35% of the profits from In Utero. And thats it, since she's divorcing herself from Courtney.
@ritter89 collaborated on a 'few' songs? they were in a band, wtf are you talking about, Anyway, they receive royalties, but the cunt gets the lion's share. Lmao at the concept of "collaboration on a few songs."
@judyleasugar97 in order to get nirvana music in this, they would have had to pay Krist, and Dave AND courtney for rights to use it. And im sure courtney would ask for ALOT of money,
THAT MUSIC ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS OMGGFFFGOMGGG TUNR IT OFFF use melvins or soundgarden music or anymusic, use GRUNGE MUSIC
u know wat made me smile? when i saw that on kurt cobains home town underneath welcome to Aberdeen its says "Come as you are" that just makes me smile.

Kurt walked a teetering line between sarcasm and raw emotion. He so rocked. But why no Nirvana music in this?
judyleasugar97 2 years ago 31
Because it wasn't officially authorized by the Kurt Cobain estate, and music licensing fees would've been too expensive for the film-makers to pay.
