  • BEAUTIFUL SONG! GREAT VOCALS!!! SO APPRECIATED!!!!!

  • A super romantic song!!!!!!!!

  • I love it! They don't make romantic songs like this anymore. I can imagine slow dancing on a dark dance floor.

  • One of my favourite oldies.. (:

  • nicely said dbj1941

  • Make out music at its finest...

  • Well said, Boomerang! I agree completely!. There is a certain je ne sais quoi to put this song in a class by itself.

  • I always knew that I was born in the wrong era. I was born in the turbulent 60's. & I always envyed the great accomplishments of Americans of the 40's generations & the coolness & songs of the 50's. Oh how I would have loved to have lived then. You don't have to tell me that it was great time....I knew it was a great time. God Bless if not the greatest generation that have ever lived.

  • Are you a good person?

Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust u have committed adultery with her in your heart.

If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The Bible teaches despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your eye for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com

  • @standingontruth1 Could you spare us the sermon and just enjoy this music? Leave your born again christian speach for the celebrate recovery meetings.

  • Brings back warm summer nights leaning against my old chevy at the A&W with my friends, checking out the girls, watching the line of cars go up and down mainstreet.

  • Doo Wop!

  • Why does the video shake?

  • Today's youth has missed the magic....the magic of finally holding the girl of your dreams in your arms and slow dancing. Getting lost for a few minutes at a Friday night dance that would become a life long memory

  • Wow! How sweet it is!!!!!!! Jimmy Beaumont had one of the greatest voices of that time and Janet Vogel, God rest her soul, added so much to the group. They just don't come like this anymore. Too bad.

  • get the chills whenever I hear this song!

  • Comment removed

  • Your so right...i love that era...

  • You said It All. I Also Was born in 1941 and Graduated in 1959 and was 70 in June. Im So Glad To Have Lived In One of The Best Eras Ever,As You Said.I Thank God Every Day ! Pat

  • A great memorie

  • Every time I hear this great classic by Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners I think of Labamba?

  • Thank you Mr.C......a little too late tho..."sniff" "sniff"

  • BEAUTFUL!!

    WHAT A FANTASTIC SONG!!!

    O MY DARLING!

    I ALWAYS LOVE THE SKYLINERS

  • Somewhere along the line our DREAMS GOT CRUSHED

  • Born in 42, so I had the fantastic pleasure of living thru all this great music!!

  • another successful application of the formula from "Since I Don't Have You"

  • Wonderful song!!!!!!!!

  • the skyliners,, one of the best dop wop groups of the 60s

  • I loved their first hit "Since I Don't Have You" but I swear, this one did it for me. I don't know why but it had so much depth. I wasn't in love - I was too young but I knew you had to understand it to love this tune. Go men, go. This was and is a good group that did a lot for the sound of the late 50s, 60s with their excellent skill and style. Hear that the lady in the group passed on years and ears ago. But I saw them on a PBS singing. Still great!

  • we r all in the same skin my friends and enemies.

I am just as hungry and tired and good looking and hung-over and slick

as my grand parents taught me to be...in fact I am proud to be here with u for I love these old songs just in my own way too/also...remember the 78s? and how the old cranks were...come on..then the 45s...now i sound like a history nerd? In any case we R always there my friends

  • this i swear is the best oldie ever!! thank you jenni941.

  • @EDRAM9 i never get tired of listening to this! & youre welcome :)

  • Stop the age things, music have no age.

  • I'm 64,..And I can dance.WOW,..how many girls ears have I sung that song into ? And really meant it.Growing up was the first time,I thought it was always the same, you just grew up.Patty Page, then 16 Tons, then Elvis, and doo-wop du diddy diddy. The slow dancing and "true love",forever. In NYC,if you did not "Have Respect" for the girl, she would kick your ass, period. They didn't play.We never needed cars, had the subway.Dick Clark ruled, learn"new steps",the slop, the mashed patada (Potatoes) hitchhicker

  • fantastic memories

  • 1941 Was My Birth Year Also...Yes dbj 1941 You Have Said It All and Told It How It Was ! Pat

  • To "DrBob43PA and dbj1941" - I couldn't have said it better! I was born in 1950 and graduated from high school in 1968. Between those years were the absolute best years of my life. I'm so happy that we have Internet web sites like this one to relive those times. Oh, what all of us would give for a time machine! It's hard to tell the young generation of today to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy EVERYTHING!

  • If this song doesn't capture the era, I don't know what does. This is as good as a studio production gets. Anybody with a thumbs down, hang your head in shame.

  • yes growing up in the 50's was great. the music was great you could sing along.the young men had respect for the girls. cruseing in a 56 chevy

one summer night on the raido. and time stood still. a very special time. a long time ago. i'm 69 years old.

  • I'm 17 and I completely agree my generation does not have any love songs compared to these. This song is truly amazing.

  • slow dancing in the moonlight, top down, music blaring as loud as it could AM

  • All through my HS years, this song was my absolute favorite. Each time I heard it I had to stop and listen.........We may not be young anymore but listening to songs by groups like the Skyliners, I FEEL as I did then. What a pity today's young people don't have these love songs to romance to. Jimmy Beaumont had a terrific voice at such a young age of 18 and this group was one of the best ever.

  • We can't go back to those wonderful times, that produced music like this, but we can keep the joy in our hearts that we shared in a time so magical, and never to be repeated. I would never want to be young at any other time, and will be singing and loving doo wop music and the Skyliners forever.

  • @jackiewestgrasso : totally agree with you. It was the best time to be young and I am thankful I was able to be a teenager during those wonderful years. Thankful, too, that we can still listen to the Skyliners and remember those great times.

  • dang what a great song!!!!

  • MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL LAST, O MY DARLING!

    THIS I SWEAR IS TRUE!

  • They don't write songs like this anymore - my parents' generation was truly blessed with the 50s and 60s. First heard this in the background of the movie "La Bamba." I'm a sucker for romantic ballads like this. Maybe I'm just an old soul trapped in a relatively young (mid-30s) body.

  • If someone sends you this song in an email consider yourself blessed. The words are so heartfelt that it just makes you feel great. Time passes but feelings cannot be denied.

  • Well gang i guess im the younster here...born in 1949..lol..but this genre of music is simply the best...the lyrics, the intense focus, the messages...my gosh...i love this stuff...not many young people, unfortunately can appreiciate it as evidenced by my postings on my facebook page..seems only the friends over 50 have liked it...i can appreciate every generation of music..but this remains nearest and dearest to my heart...thank heaven for the people who take the time to post it on you tube....

  • Love it, one of my all time favorites.

  • it was great growing up in the 50s. i'm 64 and i wish i could turn back the clock.songs like this take me back great job

  • One of the best love songs ever!!

  • There's nothing like it. Never was, isn't now, and will never be. I am so glad I grew up in the 50s! When I feel down, I come here and listen to the oldies and I'm 15 again.

  • One of my favorite songs....so much feeling and memories of another place and time.

  • I can't even imagine 7 people not liking this song. This is music with emotion and meaning.

  • This is one of the many oldies you NEVER hear on those oldies radio stations...and it's one of the best of the early Rock Era. What a great group!

  • all the best love songs came out of the 50- 60s i dont CARE what any body says, music like this song is not here today! thanxs god for memories!!!!!1

  • 1:10 to 1:38 is beautiful

  • Most Underated song of the era. Just Beautiful,

  • The music in the 50's and 60's lives in our souls, a part of us because music was so great and was loved by everyone. My parents had the radio on everyday because it was a constant flow of unforgettable tunes and singers. And yes, even my grandparents had their radio on . It was a big part of all generations then. I just always thought we would have great music. Today, my radio is obsolete.

  • this one and Since I don't have you, killer tunes, heart breakers.........

  • one of my all time favorites!!

  • Its over, we can never go back but how I wish we could. I graduated from high school in 1959 and our class just had our collective 70th birthday party. We were born into this world in a year (1941) that saw our country enter WWll but we got to grow up and live in one of the best eras of this countries history. I don't know that I would change any of those times for any other.

  • Always

  • @jimmy Reppert, also born in the 40's and grew up with this wonderful music. I just think we were so fortunate to have danced our proms etc. to these great tunes. Yes, a lot of classmates have passed on but this music can always takes us back to our younger days, it is truly magic.

  • From Lou Christie's mouth to my ears, this is one of his favorite songs of his youth. God Bless Lou, God Bless great music.

  • I am 15 years old, but my favorite singer is Frank Sinatra! This music of the 1950's era CANNOT be replaced by anything else! Ride on oldies!!!!

  • Jimmy still has a great voice too. Nothing can compare to these songs and the lyrics.

  • i have their greatest hits on cd..it took me a while to fine it but the search was worth it..jimmy can rip into a love song. better than anybody..phil spector call jimmy the best male singer of that era..50s-60s..jimmy can rip love the skyliners

  • awww! this song is so adorable! this type of music makes me wanna have lived in this time!! i just love oldies! <33

  • The Skyliners are one of my favorite oldies group. I never get tired of listening to their music. I grew up with them.

  • I was LUCKY enough to DANCE to this song at the Teen clubs when I was 13 years old., How LUCKY was that!

Nothing but the best memories you could ever have!

I have Grandkids now that go around singing the doo-wops

They grew up on this music!

Hope you got to watch the PBS show on TV with all the oldies, It was GREAT!!

    Cynthia

  • This is the music my Mom and Dad listen too, and me and my sister Gogo grew up listing to. Now my son and his friends are listening too.

  • I was born in '44--like "Dr. Bob" we grew up with the baby boomer generation but we were NOT techically 'baby boomers,' born after WW2 ended. This is the great music we enjoyed in our childhood & as we hit adult life. Ike was president, cars were fantastic--and you could go on a date--movie, gas, burgers, for about $6! '54--to '69 were great times for music--much of which has stood the test of time. Elvis, Pat, Ricky, Connie, Darin, doo wop, The Beach Boys. Wow. what memories, what music!

  • I love the Skyliners - they go back, I think anyway, to the 50s. I love a lot of the love songs that came out of the 50s. The other particular favorite I have of by the Skyliners is "Since I Don't Have You." These songs are so pure and romantic. Thank you for a quality, nostalgic post.

  • great times, great songs !

  • Is there a more sincere and romantic song?

  • They were the best of the best.......Great Great Great

  • muy bueno

  • @JimmyReppert. I am forty years old with a wife and son. Thank god there are others like you who appreciate this. I was listening to this stuff in the 80's.

  • Just great singing. I grew up with it. My '59 Chevy hardtop, 335 HP, 348 CI. 2.6 to 1 or 2.2 to 1 trans, depending on who I was racing. What memories. Car Hops, Route 22 in N.J. Adventure and The Big Top. I was King. Now, I have a rocking Chair.

  • @Petekiv ...Hey Jersey boy...I can't think of the name of the place on Route 22 where everyone met in the late 50's and early 60's....they brought their hot cars in to show them off and then got something to eat. Afterwards, the races began....If you can remember the name give me a reply. It's been gone for quite some time and there was an electronic place there....oh well....wish I could think of the name....cya mate....jb

  • I consider the Skyliners one of the greatest doo-wop groups that ever existed, even if you rarely hear their songs.

  • only oldies can give u that little tingle that goes from ur heart to ur whole body....and i am NOT an emotional niga..... fuckin oldies man..

  • @sandino27 Bruh I feel you on that one, You hit the nail on the head for me with brief description.

  • If you have a romantic heart, you will be a lover of these classics, since we've lost touch with that these days I can ultimately appreciate listening to so many of these perfect songs. Touches my soul! I'm going to have a hard time picking out which one will be played for my wedding one day. :) There's gotta be dudes that appreciate this too.

  • I was born in '54 but the older I get the more I appreciate the 50's music. I caught the very tail end of that era.. Great memories!

  • One of my most favourite tracks of all time1

  • Still makes me cry!

  • When listening to this I am lost in the memories of danciing with my wife when we were teens. Miss her but know she is with me all the time. Here's looking at you kid.

  • One of the top 5 doo wop songs of all time. Just fabulous.

  • This is one of the very best Doo Wop song ever. I just spoke to Nick Pociask last week and they are still going strong.

Let's all campaign to get them back out here in California for an oldies show and tour.

  • There is no music like doo wop music, i go way back to this music when i cruse in my brother's 1957 chevy. I was only 3 years old but i still remember them good old day's. Wish those good old days came back when we left our doors open or play untill 11:00 p.m. with out a worry in the world. You can not do that anymore.

  • I start my day with a kiss to my wife, great cup of coffee and music from our era. Thank you singers for a great time in my life and hope it brings back memories for others of our generation. Life was much purer then.

  • The range in Jimmy Beaumont's voice is second to none..I have been listening to all types of music for 55 years but have never heard as emotional song or singing like this. Friggin incredible.

  • @joraider08 ... well then, I guess you never listened to Tony Williams, lead singer of the Platters. I've never

heard anyone come near his vibes and assuredly that includes Jimmy Beaumont!!!!.....what do ya think mate???...jb

  • @chucksterberg Smoke Gets in You Eyes, Twilight Time, Great Pretender....Yes listened to them all of the time especially when I was younger..Still do not think has has the range and emotion that Beaumont has..Just my opinion mate...

  • @chucksterberg I agree with you! I too go back to the late 50's in music and I have NEVER heard a male singer with such a beautiful and powerful voice as Tony Williams of the Platters

  • I was around 12 or 13 when I first heard the Skyliners recordings.I've never stopped loving the great doo wop sounds.--That's when groups could really harmonize ! Richard M.. from Altadena,CA

  • I was around 12 or 13 when I first heard the Skyliners recordings.I've never stopped loving the great doo wop sounds.--That's when groups could really harmonize !

  • This song is very good....muy buena

  • In my opinion..this song was the cause of the baby boom!!!! lol doowop baby :D

  • beautiful song....it brings tears to my eyes always.

  • I am 53 and these songs envoke great memories, of a time without cell phones, I-Pads, e-mail, or video games. we played the pin ball machines at lunchtime at Marie's resturant, and never thought about disrepecting an adult. These songs were about love, and peace. They also helped make a lot of babies. I wish we could go back to this type of music, and a more simpler time.

  • born in 44 and not sorry otherwise having lost some old friends wouldent change a thing. thx for the great memories and keeping the GREATEST sound alive

  • one of my all time faves.

    i'm 35 years old.

  • Damn song it brings me down with tears cause so hard not to do things that the song promises i love my lady

  • So beautiful, I was born in 1987 but wish I was born in 1937 could be a teen in this wonderful time of music and emotion, so much feeling, not like today's music

  • NICE ROLA BEAUTIFUL SONG TAKE IT FROM MEXICAN

  • this is one of the best oldies ever made and one of my favorites. love this song. thanks for put in it on the tube. this song brings back good old times.

  • Thank you all for your kind words about your past.

    From whence we all came.

We have much to be proud of.

For this music came from the earth; from the streets.

  • It was its own inception; its pure expression. It had no precedent, no commercial factory to synthesize it, no school where it was learned.

It sang of young love; of first loves.

It made you sing; made you dance.

Most of all, it created the youth culture and for the first time in the history of the world being a teenager meant something.

It was one of the many blessings of an America.

  • Yes, there can be nothing like growing up in the firmament of creation.

  • Imagine...dancing with that special girl to this and never knowing that someday you could do it all again on a laptop computer in your mind.....wonderful

  • I wasn't born during this time but I should have been :). The way I look at it is I was born 30 years too late. Love this kind of music.

  • Heavenly... there will never be music like this again.

  • this is just wonderful....so glad i was born in this time.

  • I am 20 years old. I listen to hard ass gangsta rap, raggae, techno, and alternative rock... BUT NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING can open up my emotions like a solid oldies song. Songs like this make me wish i lived in society back in the 1950's so i can be accepted by people my own age for liking such a great song.

  • @JimmyReppert .....Jimmy, you may only be 20 yrs old but your a man among men! ...You have a great ear for music, harmony and you have the heart to recognize emotion and something real from music today that leaves you feeling cold...WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF DOO WOP

  • @JimmyReppert

im 42 and i listen to it too... grew up listening to oldies and so... i passed it on. i go to various videos here on youtube with similar comments as yours... you are not alone and it *is* acceptable~peace

  • @dreamerofharmony right on brother, respect! take care my friend.

  • @JimmyReppert Why do you feel you need to be accepted by others for the songs you like? Get a mind of your own, friend, and use it.

  • @themoshmenace because in the industry i am in its all about the media, gossip, and image. you know how people are... they can make you look really stupid in front of a crowd. I agree with you though, I should have chose my words more carefully.

  • @themoshmenace who are u talking to.?

  • @JimmyReppert hey jimmie, don't be to concerned about "fitting in",you were born to stand out!!!

  • @JimmyReppert I was born in 1943 and grew up with all the wonderful music that we had in the 50s and 60s. While we loved the music at the time I do not think anyone at the time realized just how great things were. I recently went to my high school reunion and we had oldies and doo wop playing in the background as we reminised. Only problem with growing up in the 50s, we are all in our late 60s now and many of us have passed on. We do however, have great memories.

  • @DrBob43PA I know what your saying. I too lost many close friends. Some i knew for 50 years. These songs bring back memories when we were happy. Oh well life has no guarantees.

  • @DrBob43PA I have the some feelings!!!! Thanks

  • @DrBob43PA I guess we thought we weren't going to get old. Thank goodness we have fond memories of the '50s. And listening to this music, we are back in the good 'ole days.

  • @DrBob43PA Jimmy, I don't care how old we are I refuse to ever grow up.

  • @calcat13 ME TOO, JUST ASK MY WIFE.

  • @DrBob43PA Your right there Gone but not Forgotten, Remember what Murray the Kay always said "ROCK N ROLL WILL NEVER DIE . "

  • @DrBob43PA Me too. I'm 68. Born in1943. Graduated from high school in LA 1962. Listening today, I am a teenager again. It is so sweet!

  • @JimmyReppert Well well done you for admitting you like it I love all this stuff

  • @JimmyReppert I'm with you 100%, I feel exact the same way, although I listen to metal and heavy metal.

  • taint nottin rong witt lyken goooood muzek

  • @JimmyReppert true no surrender fuckj islam

  • @JimmyReppert TELL ME ABOUT IT ANT NO MUSIC CAN COMPARE TO THIS STUFF DUDE....

  • @JimmyReppert Who knows..perhaps you did...

  • @JimmyReppert Love this music, you have a great life ahead~ktf

  • @JimmyReppert it was a good time Jimmy, i miss it alot. wish i could go back every day. but i guess i do just remembering it and smiling to myself..............i wish you could have known it too. you would feel like i do now. a little sad its gone.....................

  • @JimmyReppert

    @65impalass396

uh-mm not sure on the society with face of Communism rose, the Vietnam war, the Five Rules of the 50's and the being of racism. However the music was actually wonderful until Elvis came and plagiarism others people songs. >.>" I enjoy those music but not the time with everything broke loss during the 50's and 60's those days sucks to be in. Peace ; )

  • @JimmyReppert Good for you ....you are smarter beyond your years. You have an ear for good music.

  • @JimmyReppert

You want a medal or something?

  • @JimmyReppert Well, I loved this music as a teenager so you know how old I am, but I like you now for having the depth to appreciate our music. Does that count for anything?

  • @JimmyReppert im 30 yrs old and grew up in the 80's but i have to agree with you i can listen to anything that music offers in todays day in age but nothing and i mean nothing will ever make me feel what this music makes me feel never

  • @JimmyReppert : I completely agree...well said my man!

  • The most beautiful and enchanting doo wop or not just doo wop but the sweetest song ever. Love the lead vocal and OMG....what awesome backups and the sweet high tenor of dear Janet. Love Always.

  • In my youth.....this was one of the best songs. Ooh....it was so slow dance worthy. These guys could sing.

  • I grew up right here in NYC in the 50's and there will never again be a time like that. The music was and still is the best. I went to bed everynight with a transistor radio by my ear. And to be in love at that time WAS TO BE IN LOVE!!!

  • I saw Jimmy Beaumont in 1991 in CA. He still sounded good at that time. I think "This I Swear" is superior to "Since I Don't Have You."

  • Growing up in Southern California and listening to the great Art Laboe play the death out of this song..

  • Barry White said this was the greatest doo-wop song ever made. Barry knew his shit.

  • I remember seeing The Skyliners with a great show at Harry's Danceland in Latrobe, PA when I was 15 years old. I remember my mother took my sister and myself to the show. I was practically on the stage. The Skyliners were so great.

  • My favorite by this great group, slightly above "Since I Don't Have You." Not an easy choice either; they had so many other beautiful songs -- "It Happened Today," "Pennies From Heaven," "Stardust" and more. Jimmy Beaumont had such a powerful, well-controlled voice, and Janet Vogel, God bless her, added so much to the mix. They gave her the lead on "When I Fall in Love" and she shone with it. One of the first rock ballads with orchestration. What a great combination of everything.

  • @deanslist101

You're right, Dean. Johnny Mathis did a great, though somewhat too slick, version of Stardust, but Jimmy's vocal on the same tune was far more impressive, production problems notwithstanding. As for Jimmy's best,

however, how about "I'd Die"? .

  • I wish I`v bin there at that time. Nothing like 50s Love it

  • Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners, the greatest of all doo-wop groups by far.

  • Beautiful Song....Yes I'm from the 50's

  • i am jealous you got to see the innocence of the 50s and all the romance i wish my era was that innocent i wish i could go to the past and live with peace and love

  • I thought this was about the music of the 50's, not the turmoil that was going on around us. There will always be a war for every generation but the music is what we escape to. I want my escape to be easy on the ears and meaningful.

  • I lived back in the 50s..yes the girls were more innocent back then and not as wild.I had a strict father and didnt date in highschool. I remained a virgin for many years..Not so with girls of today.

  • What a Fantastic Beautiful Song

    Thank You for the Listing.

    God Bless

  • This is our Wedding Song. I loved it then. I love it now. I'll love it forever. Jon

  • Pure magic, yep I am lost in the 50's. Just were I want to be, im 35 & have love this music all my life. Now I can enjoy it whilst driving my 55 Chev. Thanks for the post :)

  • This is what it sounded like when I was a kid. God what happened to it all? Listen to that harmony!

    The Skyliners are CLASSIC!

    Thanks for he posting!

  • i would have loved to have been around these times...growin up now im in my teens and it sucks....got much respect for tha oldies.

  • @franciscod I have a lot of respect for the young ones of today, who understand the meaning of the music from that era.

  • In my opinion, this is one of the all time best songs of this era. It's just so beautiful......Makes me kind of sad.

  • THIS SONG IS FUKN BOMB!!

  • This one is also for the same very special lady.

  • I can't help but reminisce while listening to these great oldies, and I swore that I never would... because my old man drove us all crazy when we were kids. He would go on and on about the old days for what seemed like hours on end. Now I'm a geezer and find myself doing the same. Disgusting isn't it? Of course the difference is.... my stories are much more interesting. :)

  • Since everyone is in the mood for reminiscing about the 'good-old-days', I thought I'd add one more. Almost every Sat. someone in our group would throw a garage party. Afterwards a bunch would pile into several cars and head into LA to a record store called Dolphin's of Hollywood. At midnight Huggy Boy would be sitting in the big bay window, spinning records & broadcasting over KRKD. We'd park at the curb and watch Huggy spin our favorite Oldie while we listened in on the car radios. Tears . . .
