They have the most loudest screech, especially when there is a flock. In the old horse and cart days, here in Australia, the farmers were allowed to shoot these Cockatoos, as they were a menace to the crops. You could literally watch a flock land on the corn crops, and see the corn disappearing right before your eyes! Now they are a protected species, and yes, still a menace to many people, not just the farmers.
Where i live in Australia, I have a flock of Cockatoo's (Or as us aussies call them, Cockies) and they are SOOO loud! They bite and they sit on my back fence and tease my dogs and also sit on the veranda to wait for me to give them a piece of bread. But they are lovley birds.... But having said that, i have nerve damage in my middle finger from being bitten by one of them when i was small. Nearly took my finger off....
