DX 10 was a bit for a fail in terms of development point of view it didnt offer to muchh difference to Dx9. new DX 11 is a whole new world compared to DX 10 grapichs would be good to see this game get the dx 11 treatment

I really wonder what's up with DX10 graphics in LotRO? most of it looks almost the same as my DX9 Ultra Settings (Radeon 4830). Only water is clearly more realistic than on DX) and maybe there's some more bloom or HDR here and there on DX10. I doesn't look so mindblowing as I expected though.

The player base is amazing. The best Ive seen for an MMO yet. I never met one rude person in the game. As for what server is the best or what server has the most I don't know. I was on Arkenstone and there were quite a few people on it but not as many as I had hoped. Seems to just need more people in the game and it would be great

I play on the Gilrain server in Europe and I find the population satisfactory. I am by no means a hard core MMO player very casual player.

I know my guild has close to 200 members and we are one of the smaller ones :)

I played this game at the start of the year.

But my comp ran it on very low graphics and it was lagging heaps. I got to lvl 14.

Now im getting a lappy for christmas and i', gonna renew my account because the game was so good!

I started playing LOTRO during open beta and have watched grow into one of the most beautiful and well-thought-out MMOs on the market today. While I might get tired of my guild, my character, doing quests in general, I never tire of the gorgeous landscapes and the richness of the storyline. Your video reminds me intensely of why I love this game!

When I first started this game I barely couldn't quest and actual play it due to my fascination of the environment and the graphic engine, think I just stood there for half an hour just admiring the graphics. People give this game a chance! It deserves your opinion and evaluation, if you think the game has no more to offer than just ridicolously beautiful graphics then you couldn't be more wrong, It's one of the most well excecuted MMORPG's I've played.

Dude don't listen to Thoufel, I play this game on my old 6600 gt card from 2004/2005 on DX9 on Medium settings just fine. If DX10 is what you want then, well, no cards below the 8800 series are DX10 compatible anyways. lol. :P

Maybe you don't have directX10?

directX10 is only avaible on Vista and upcoming windows7, on winXP you can play only dX9 version, and therefore you can't use dX10 functions.

im sooo confused :O i just downloaded lotro 10 day free trial and it looks awfull even in ultra high, i downloaded the non hd version but still it looks soooo bad like many times worse than wow. if anyone has any ideas why pls comment me back lol im soo dissapointed i want it to look like this! >:(

I would recommend getting the DVD from somewhere and reinstalling it with the High Resolution textures. You have to choose them when installing and then after that enable Ultra High settings.

When you play the game, if you go to settings and then graphics, there will be a little checkbox with "Use DirectX10 Graphics" check it, it will back out for just a second and then you should be running LOTRO with DirectX10.
