  • you never really appreciate the saying your only a kid once till you grow up huh...kinda sux

  • @ 1:00 John Easterlin Park....!

  • Loved this when I was a kid, my 12 year old enjoyed it too!!

  • This has got to be one of my most favorite theme songs from a movie. The movie itself was imaginative and well done.

  • This is truly a magical movie in the line of ET, Explorers andThe Goonies, that deal with kids in sci and adventure movies

  • one of my favorites

  • Back To The Future

    Innerspace

    Flight Of The Navigator

Best three films of the Eighties.

  • I really liked this film. A remake of this movie will make me sob for the future of mankind.

  • The 80's produced movies with plots and soundtracks the likes of which we will never see again. The 90's had a few good ones but its clear true imagination in movie making died with the decade

  • @turloghtheblack yeah people became obsessed with technology, showing off and making a load of cash

  • I never cry at anything, EVER!... except for this theme, fucking epic! Best movie ever.

  • @MrNusecus i know how ya feel so so so many memories it seems like a lifetime ago

  • There was talk about there being a remake of this- but I now wonder if that was for real because nothing seems to be having it go into production.

  • The good old days...

  • Loved this movie when i was a kid!

  • Good old times!

  • Great movie. Saw the actual ship at universal studios in Fl.

  • Wow the music on this film makes me feel young again! I must have recorded this taped over it then recorded again it loads of times.like alot of films then

i was born in 1976 all the good films seem to come out in the 80s and 90s but glad i got to see ET, Ghostbusters at the Cinema there the ones which i remember going to watch, rest i waited till they were on tv or tryed to rent on video. funny now I'm so use to the internet... back then you had to wait or just not see the film you wanted.

  • Oh my God my childhood. I LOVE this movie even now. Its so fabulous.

  • This is a classic!!!! Still today it makes me feel like I am a youngnster living my dreams.....Unbeatable..just wish they made films like this again.

  • possibly the most nostalgic sound i could ever hear is that theme. OMFG i love this movie.

i will actually murder whoever tries to make that remake, fuck them!

  • I grew up in the 80s too, but always wonder what happend to "David" the boy in the film..... where is he now??

  • See ya later navigator!

  • @tqsuited haha

    (max's voice obviously :P)

  • To be a kid in the mid 80's is an eternal gift!!!! I'll never let go the impact of dreams movies like this gave me - the hope to feel mystified by an imagination as a child of life's pleasantries, life's glory, life's achievement, & life's dreams to achieve. The 90's came and all my dreams were gone - all I see are lies, crime, greed, STDS, and other ebb running rampant ever since more than I saw in the 80's and that even was in the 80's for that matter as I look back. My mind is a time machine.

  • I miss been a kid..im from 78..saw it on twice..in the 85-86

  • 79 Baby 80's babies were the best times.

bye from Italy to all 80's lovers like me !

  • I was born in '81. I remember my grandpa rented this for me and my brother right when it first came out on VHS. This movie brings back so many great memories.

  • Great film and sound track also have the DVD to.

  • I've spent years trying to remember the name of this movie, I used to watch it constantly.

  • I was born in 92 but this movie still gives me awesome memories of when i was a kid, because flight of the navigator was my mums favorite movie so she bought it for me to watch and now its my favorite aswell. I wish i was a kid from the 80s :(

  • I love this film is a classic and cool one, even today it still looks great!!!!!!! ride emm cowboy!!!

  • lets not forget about sho-biz and chuck-e- cheeses...i miss growing up.

  • Was 14 when I saw this. Still love it for it's simplicity.

  • How time flies !

  • Its such a shame. The original spaceship is at Disney Land USA. Cant remember where exactly but on a tour there it was in all its rotting away for all to see, So so sad.

  • @slinky270306, It seems to be suffering the same fate as the full size Shuttlecraft prop from Star Trek TOS. They should Restore it.

  • Ey mit dem Film bin ich gross geworden ich liebe deisen Film

  • i watched this movie 2000 times, and still like to watch it today.... the movie that brings me back to my childhood!!!

  • LOL the Navigator is now working at a Sporting Goods store in Canada

  • @ConcreteSurfer420 Really? I thought he was a Principle at one of the middle schools up there.

  • I was born in 81 and watched this and many other 80s greats so many times that countless videos had to be binned.because they got ruined. To much CGI these days. when I have kids there goning to get the chance to watch this movie and many others from the best decade around the '80s'

  • @ten1uk Me too. I won't even let anyone MENTION the words "Star Wars" in their presence until my kids have seen Episodes IV through VI, in order. Even after that, I still might not let them watch the prequel trilogy until they're old enough to rent it themselves. Like porn, basically - interesting to watch as an adult, but far too dangerous to let young impressionable minds view it.

  • colleges were better so were the persons told a child

as a joke how real the moives are an some flim crews used to make some money back , yet in with health an harm done by whom

yet , they never should of been let to drink, gov first made are best

only when kept working some by same persons, yet as they age ,

sad the pure lessons are the better, any person vote

  • I was born in 1975, and saw this movie in 1986 then i was 11. 80s was a such great time.

  • I'd forgotten how good this film is!!!!!

  • What about Kids Incorporated lol.

  • this almost made me cry. let's go back.

  • Movies today don't capture the imagination quite the same as Flight of the Navigator. Watching this again I remember things about my childhood I had competely forgotten.

  • I just saw this on Hallmark today! Great movie!

  • people prob dont know pee wee herman is the voice of max - and joey cramer works in a sports clothing store

  • Do love this movie so much but damn, it makes me wanna be a kid again!!!

  • i love this movie, todays movies are shite

  • I was born in 86 and I watched all 80's kids movies - best in the time and space :)

  • jusaLOSER I cant beleive there even considering remaking this thats scandolous!! I know what you mean about the bad actors kids actors they have nowadays. Joey Cramer is excellent in this film. Shame he disappeared into the acting wilderness

  • Max is one of my favorite spaceship/character/computer from sci-fi movies. :D

    His voice is cool. :D

  • I found a great fanfiction story for this called Flight of the McFlyinator that combined the charchters from this movie, Short Circuit, Back to the Future, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids in a grand adventure to return David home. Gathered by Doc and Marty they battle and insane evil scientist named Catledge and his goons which include Biff Tannen from Back to the Future, Faraday from this movie and Marner and Schroder from Short Circuit in a grand adventure to return David home.

  • They end up battling Catledge all over the country, battle evil copies of Johnny-5, battle the Lybians from Back to the Future (defeated when Wayne shrinks them and given to Maxx for experimentation) and try to return David home with a hybrid of Doc and Maxx's systems. It all culminates in a massive battle between Maxx and his crew and Catledge, Biff, Schroder, Catledge's dog Hackel and his sidekick Gately over Earth in a battle for the space-time continum itself.

  • i was born in 84 and have very fond memories watching this as a kid. For me the 80s was a golden age for kids films. All the kids films nowadays are about the special effects but not the story

  • I got this on DVD years ago Found it at Blockbuster by chance and bought it.

  • @andybrad84 the newer kids movies nowadays are also badly acted and usually have a kid born into hollywood! its not the same! and Disney is remaking this film! GOD somebody PLEASE stop this from happening!

  • Great classic Disney film. Always loved that theme. They don't make'm quite like this anymore.

  • Starting at 2:09 is one of my favorite songs of this movie as a kid!

  • Really beautiful. Thank you so much for bringing back those memories. In Spain we saw the same Disney movies too, but three or four years later, though :)

  • This movie always made me cry.

I'm not sure why this is, but I seem to be one of a very few 80's children who is infinitely glad the decade is over.

The best thing about the 80's was the release of Blade Runner and publication of Neuromancer. That's about it.

  • I was born in 78 and I remember during the summer they would play this on Disney...that was right after they came out with the gigantic backyard satellite's...lol I was so excited....nothing will ever compare to being a child of the 80's...Rainbow Brite, Carebears, Ninja Turtles, D.A.R.Y.L, The Boy Who Could Fly, The Heavenly Kid, The Neverending Story, The Laybrinth, The Dark Crystal...let's just build a time machine and go back.....please!! :)

  • I couldn't more agree with you..........

  • @mswhite78

Ah , your speaking my language kid. Keep it coming. I'm agree-ing with every word so far.

  • @mswhite78 I agree being a child of the 80's was something special and this movie was so unqiue that just tapped into the mind of a child where dreams and special things came true and movies in the 1980s acknowleged that so well like the goonies, the neverending story, DARYL, explorers and this one as well. I miss the 1980s

  • @mswhite78 Hear! Hear! I'd love to fly back in time with you! I wanna go back to the 80s and stay there! I hate today's crappy entertainment and worthless movies and cartoons!

  • @MyDeerhunter123 Yep, the 80's was a fab decade.

  • @mswhite78 Don't forget all those cheesy dated cartoons with an unrealistic 50's feel (thanks to the receding Happy Days craze). Galaxy High comes to mind for some reason.

  • @mswhite78 I know EXACTLY how you feel. Even though I was born in '85, I had a betamax with all of those movies (Yeah! A BETAMAX! Remember those things!?) and much, much more. Those were the days. :)

  • @mswhite78 Take me with you man! Transformers, He-Man, M.A.S.K, Visionaries, Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors, Airwolf, Knightrider, The A-Team...soooo many happy memories :o)

    Sucks to grow up :o(

  • @wasp27

    Agree...agree...agree...agree... agree!!

  • @mswhite78 I grew up with all that to and it did have a great impact on how I am today, the best time was all the shows from when I was a kid.

  • @mswhite78 wow...I cant agree with you...I was born in 1981 and this generation of kids really missed out on our generation. the Matt Le Blanc "Coca Cola" commercials Alvin and the Chipmunks...I mean who didnt love them...those guys were everywere...and ofcourse the Cabbage Patch Dolls for girls....heck even when I was 6 years old I had a "My Buddy" doll and coloring book...How about those Big Wheels?

  • @ConwingL162007 I didn't miss out on that stuff at all. I was only 3 in 81. lol I played with my Cabbage Patch Kids, Rainbow Brite, Barbie and the Rockers. I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks too, and of course I remember My Buddy, although I never had one. I had the greatest big wheel of all too!! One with Smurfette's head on the front of it!! I my dear was the talk of the neighbor. lol

  • @mswhite78 I dont remember too much of the early 80's but the mid to late were awesome.....I saw "An American Tail" when it first came out....also Mac and Me....and Batteries Not Included...those are still my favorite movies to this very day

  • @ConwingL162007 I saw all of those too, I loved Mac and Me and Batteries Not Included. Two great movies!! I also loved the movie Enemy Mine. :)

  • @mswhite78 OOOOOOOOOHHHH I loooooooooooooooovee Enemy Mine....cant believe that was Dennis Quaid so long ago. and ZAAAAAAAAAAAMMIIIES...LOL There were alot of great movies in the 80's and lot of great animations.....Don Bluth is still one of my all time favorite talented artists of animation and creativity

  • @mswhite78 lets not forget the goonies, the last starfighter, the lost boys, gremlins, and back to the future to name a few lol, what do kids have to watch nowadays anyway?

  • @SPCFLIP The Last Starfighter wow, I haven't seen that movie in years!! I love that movie, of course The Goonies, and The Lost Boys are classics as well. I remember going to the movies and watching Gremlins when it first came out. Wow, now that makes me feel old!! LOL Although today's television isn't no where near what it used to be, my kids are going to have fond memories of all the cartoons and movies they watch. But am happy to say my 5 yr old loves Tom and Jerry!! :D

  • @mswhite78 Yes. Hells yes.

  • @mswhite78 we have been suckled on the teets of technology for too long. things either need to get really incredible to fascinate us in the same as as we were back then, or we need to have it all wiped, and start over.

  • @rogerthat155 So true!! But even now, watching these movies with my kids, I feel as though I am that 8 year old kid on the couch eating my pop rocks and having a blast. I am just glad they have the same likes as their old mom. And I am glad to be able to say hey, mom used to watch this when she was little. Which makes them like it even more. It would be too much to wipe it all out and start over. Every generation experiences different things. To each there own I suppose.

  • @mswhite78

....nothing will ever compare to being a child of the 80's

You are absolutely right. I was born in 1975.

  • @aaaaa895 Which means you are about as old as SNL! Yay!

  • @meteosurreal

well i was born in 1975. when i saw this movie in 1986 i was 11.

  • @meteosurreal Curiouser and curiouser! I was ALSO born at around that time!

  • @mswhite78 Secret of Nimh,to add another.............

    but all and all...

Seems like a blessing to us and to the generation............man things sure have changed.........

  • @mswhite78 just need a delorean some time circuits and a goonies t shirt

  • @joevadino Why didn't I think of that?!?!? I may need some help constructing it!!! Do you think you could lend a hand? LOL ;)

  • @mswhite78 you forgot gremlins....ghostbusters....

  • @doinworksonnnnn There are so many great movie's from the 80's the list would be endless lol

  • born in 87, this was the movie i saw over and over again in my early years...

    See ya later alligator!

  • I was born in 82' this song brings back so many great memories with my dad. It brought a tear to my eye when i heard it. This type of song is so comfortable and sounds like it will be playing when i see the light......

  • Definately. I'm an 80s boy, Ghostbusters, Turtles, Transformers, MASK, Visionaries, Knightmare were all the top shows for me as a kid. What a great decade.

  • knightmare was a great game show for kids some of the stuff scared the crap out of me

  • I will never ever forget this movie in my live. The 80s were the greatest time. People of 70s and 80s, what childhood we had, so nice and great. We should be proud of it.

  • Oh hell yeah! Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Transformers, Back to the Future, Karate Kid, The Terminator, John Candy movies, The Breakfast Club, Police Academy series; just my pics. Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Early Michael Jackson music, WWF Wrestling. WE ARE PROUD...DAMN PROUD!

  • @aaaaa895 I want to go back!

How, why, where and when did things go downhill?

  • @aaaaa895 I'm so bloody jealous! I wish I coulda been born in 69 or 70 instead of 83 so I coulda enjoyed the finest decade the galaxy has ever known: the 1980s!

  • @MyDeerhunter123 I couldn't agree with you more! I was born the same year you were, but after the 90s ended, with a few exceptions such as The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, The Pirates of The Carribean saga, and Along Came A Spider, pretty much everything else just became shit on a stick! It's like every year, the entertainment industry just gets crappier and crappier. I wish I had a time machine. I'd go back to the 80s and early 90s and just stay there for eternity!

  • @aaaaa895 Yep, staying up all night with your friends playing the latest Nintendo games, or going "retro" and seeing how many bootleg Commodore 64 games you can get through before everyone collapses. Getting up to watch Ninja Turtles and the Friday 13th movies back when they didn't try too hard...

Shit man those were the days, but hey, now we have an internet that doesn't suck, I guess there are tradeoffs.

  • @aaaaa895 i was born in 72 but was too young to remember much from then, i remember a lot from the 80s and 90s! unfortunately i did not see this movie in the theaters, but i think i was in my late teens early 20s when i first saw it and i loved it! i knew someday i would own it, just never knew when. but i have it on dvd now, is one of my favorite 80s movies, and i can't wait for it to come to blu ray! maybe this year! its been 25 years now

  • @jusaLOSER

I was born in 1975, and I saw this movie in 1986 for the first time in theater. It was my favorite movie during 80s. Now I am not anymore a child, and I think they do not make such movies anymore for children nowdays.

  • @aaaaa895 u can be a child at heart tho! LOL watching 90s and 80s silly, juvenile and cheesy movies just brings me back to when i was younger, movies like Flight of the Navigator, Camp Nowhere, Little Giants, Jumanji, First Kid, Good Burger, ET, Blank Check, Sandlot, Mighty Ducks, Free Willy are so refreshing and make u feel forever young! newer movies that have that effect are Kicking and Screaming, Max Keeble's Big Move, Zathura and Big Fat Liar

  • The Last Starfighter, The Goonies, The Karate Kid, Back to the Future, the best films of the 80's by far.

  • Id say the 80s AND 90s

  • This is one of my favorite movies from childhood. I still have a VHS tape copy of this. Ah, the memories...

  • i know how u feel man i would do anything 2 be a kid again :-( tc mate

  • me 2

  • Awesome... so do i. Man this movie takes me back.....

  • wish they had this on blu ray lol... Love this and D.A.R.Y.L. the 80s kicked butt..

  • i love this movie

  • This movie is so cute, I have the dvd!

But my fave sci fi movie is Close Encounters of 3º Kind!

    Cheers =)

  • its a good score, but The Last Starfighter is STILL the best 80's sc-ifi fanfare.

  • Starman is pretty good too mate

  • simply nostalgic!

  • most ever influenced movie...... I was around 9 or 10 then, so it is 22 years ago already..... man time flies......

This movie was very very good for those days (mid 80s).

  • man o man this gives me goose bumps listening to it. brings back sooo many memories of good times. now seem so long ago. wish i could go back to them times.

  • gd memories

  • best theme to a movie ever, i watched this first when i was 3 that was 15 years ago and i still love it, i always remember when david went to max whilst he was in the hanger and i was behind a cushion.....good times.

  • I have footage of the acctual ship in the disney back lot. They just sat it on its side on the ground. they could have put it on a stand or something.

  • seeing this is like time travel back to the good old days...

  • "Compliance!"

  • OH MY GOD! I forgot about this movie!!!

    *fails to contain nostalgia overload*

    T____T

  • saw this at the theater... loved it. And I never knew the voice of Max is Paul Reubens!

  • I did once I heard the Pee-Wee bits...I knew it at once, and I Was only 7 at the time.

  • CLASSIC!

Love this film, certainly gives ya the goosebumps.

  • God, the memories! I used to love this movie when I was a kid. I used to think that what happened in the movie would happen in real life encounters with ufos and all that but actually found out the opposite was true!! I really hope that future movies have this same sort of effect on those who watch them.

  • Indeed silver. Man i look at whats on TV, movies and etc. now and think back to what it all used to be....sigh, man wish it could be like that again. And yes this is an awesome movie :)

  • Love this movie. Music is awesome.

  • A very nice movie, i adore it!

  • Compliance!

  • Awesome!! I just bought the DVD digital remaster for 8 bucks a few weeks ago and have almost worn it out already! Great Memories!

  • man disney dosent make them like they used too! luved this film

  • Youre absolutly rite. I think our generation really knew what television was about. Were the last. Here's to us. The timeless generation

  • Indeed.

  • This film makes me re live my younger days. Im 27 and this film is as important to me as the goonies. Films that will stay with me forever!! I love them adn this film os so special to me

  • >>This Movie Gave me goosebumps watching it so very very long ago"z!

    They should remake it & ditch disney & choose makers of transformers 2009 or someone much more serious;

Disney Is stupid & it'll end up like inspecter gadget with cheap geeky moronic spy-kids affects!

  • UNFORGETTABLE MOVIE AND MUSIC !!

Thank You very much ! ^__'

  • They don't make movies or movie scores like this anymore.

  • I gave you the +1, although the plot has some minor incoherence (I mean, the movie hasn't got a robust plot like Dune for instance), it's a great movie and ship concept !!

One of my all time favorite.

  • Yea, that is right. I remembered this movie as a kid (i was only 11).
