the best off roader land rover will always be the defender but you dont get the comfort out of a defender like you do a freelander, i got a freelander myself a diesel td4 love it to bits, never used it properly off road tho, i got it this year and waiting to see if it snows again this winter if it does my freelander will plough through it
to jest maly pokaz tego co potrafi w terenie ten model . z duzo wiekszymi blotami , sniegami mialem przyjemnosc go testowac i naprawde z kazdej sytuacji wybrnal dzielnie.
Still a good motor ( ive just got a 2001 diesil), ' There shit' everyone crys!!!! but they were still the best selling 4x4 in Europe for 3 yrs! but the new one is far better.

Yeh they are good motor. I am selling this one now as I got Discovery 300TDi in mint condition.
Got mud terrain's on Disco now.
It great off road. I always wanted a Disco.
But on a budget car the freelander is good off road as it is on road

Deffo roll on snow. Can't beat it.
Nothing more satasfying than pulling stuck cars out of snow and ice. love it.
Ither that or giving them a jump start.
Khumo kl-71 mud terrain used to make a a mud tyre for freelander size. If you want a good tread.
But remember mud terrain pattern loses about 3 mpg ish

Capable car. They had them in the last few years of the Camel Trophy - they looked excellent kitted up.

The ones used in camel were the 2 litre diesle and 2.5 v6.
I drivin the new freelander 2 off road and they are outstanding. but i aint keen on computer's running the systems.
I like the challenge a freelander offers not being proper off roader. and beating top land rovers is ace.
Because it is less than a 1.5 tonne it can sail over mud that otehr 4x4's get bogged down in.
I had to buy spesh clutch for off roading in it tho cause the standerd one terrible

Diesles are the best. the 1.8 are usualy quite bad at 60 k mark. but their is the good ones that work lol.
They are a very underated 4x4. on and off road.
