Also if u have a bigger turbo u have to have a better vp depending on the size of the turbo. If u have to big of a turbo an a stock vp or a vp that can't handle it it wont spool up for a long time. This causing lack off air to the engine witch will give u smoke. For a big turbo u need the right injectors an vp. That goes for a cp3 also.

Actually there is a heating element inside the intake manifold to warm the air. Glow plugs are for igniting fuel. That's y in cold weather u plug Ur truck up to keep Ur plugs warm and fuel warm. That wait to start in Ur truck is the glow plugs heating up to ignite the fuel. The fuel Passes by the plugs witch ignites it as the fuel ignites it makes compression inside the compression chamber with will cause the pistons to move and then u have Ur stroke cycle.

@Coltonself1995 not all of em have glow plugs dude. some cummins have grid heaters. glow plugs arent for igniting the fuel either they are for warming the air that is pulled in. the high compression of a diesel motor is what ignites the fuel. he most likely dosent have a big turbo because if he did there would be less smoke. a bigger turbo allows more fuel to be burned internally and not just dumped out the exhaust. he probbally has big injectors and a tuned vp pump. possibly a p-pump, not sure

@007headhunter1 You pump in far too much diesel, it burns off in the manifold, turbo, EGR, DPF, CAT...and makes the exhaust valves stick open which reduces power. It soots everything up and ruins the engine completely over time. The more smoke on a diesel, the less power it is producing. If bigger injectors caused no smoke then that would mean it had more power. Think of pouring a pint of water in to an egg cup, the rest spills out and is wasted. That engine is inefficient and on reduced power

@urbex2007 the metal camshaft pushes metal push-rods which open metal valves which are closed by metal springs pushing down with incredible force... a little carbon buildup is not going to make the valve stay open and become less efficient, its true it could lower the life of the engine and isn't necessarily good for the injectors and such, but its not gonna stick a valve open
