Brilliant song and what a great video! The seamless switching between past and present - colour and black and white is fantastic. Well done IanLevine.
My goodness, I love this. Love the Phili sound and look. Always have since I was 10 in the 70's. Gives me goosebumps. The harmonies, the dance sequencing, the brass and strings. Such a feel good genre. This was lovely. Thanks for posting.
Ian - What can I say very very welldone this is fantastic. You have done sooooo much to keep soul alive!! I am a major Edwin Starr fan (the greatest soulman) I normally start there and look for great soul classics where do I go from here?
And the other guys are the very original Trammps members, who were even in The Volcanoes, prior to becoming The Trammps when they teamed up with Earl Young and Jimmy Ellis.
Oh My God! I forgot how in love I was with this group since the years have slipped away so fast. Sweet sweet sound and such good looking men. And here they are again on UTube. OMG! One Love
i haven't heard this in years...its awesome ty for sharing. Amer baby, this is how i feel when we part each time..i love you ..more & more with each passing day.
you can't beat this! Music today just doesn't compare with this! I am so thankful my high school days in Myrtle Beach, SC were during this era.....Tina Eaton Blackwell, Columbia, S.C.
Trammps came singing in Italy in 1979 at disco "Ca' del liscio" in Ravenna.Ufortunately i have no video, but they all wrote me a dedication on all the covers of the lp's i have took with me for this..and till now i preserve like a treasure;)UFORGETTABLE !!:) Long life to Jimmy Ellis)and his voice;) & trammps :))
Betw. 1989/1993 we use to be the Dutch sup act of the trammps with our bands "swinging soul machine" and "Primavering" through agency Jan Vis Rosmalen had a lot of fun with these guys, i remember some typical Dutch parties wereby everybody enjoyed the in Holland allowed party stuff specially Robert the biggest guy at the right "couldn't get enough"
if any of the guys reads this remember you guys staying at vinkeloord close to Nuland (Julia Bar)regards Big Mo Trombone
This reminds me of a visit to Phoenix, Arizona about 7-8 years ago where I saw the legendary Trammps playing at a Casino on an "Indian Reservation". My American friend never did understand why we had to drive 60 miles into the desert to see "some obscure act"......
What a brilliant song, I first got this single as a musical version minus the vocals I remember, but both are really great. I regarded "Philadelphia International" as Motown No 2! The Trammps who were in MFSB Orchestra were like Earl Van Dyke and The Funk Brothers were to Motown, were they not? Great times!
Great romantic memories, lovely song.
