Man... when this guys got in the scene all whent down the drain! The 80's were over and it was sad, this shit and Yazz and Bomb the Bass and Sinita killed pop music. But that's cool to remember how life sometimes sucked :p Acid house my ass...
I hate to rain on all you guys parade, but I hate that artists steal rhythms from the past to make money in the future. Oh well what ever is cleaver right? The original is:
Cait O'Reirden ... I think I'll carve her name into my bedroom's walls :)))... I 've never heard this name... has she done anything else apart from playing for S - Express ? anyway, is she the same girl playing keyboards on "mantra for a state of mind" ? the one in brown suite I mean ... a wonderful voice ? well I'm not surprised .... an angel's voice in an angel's body ...:))
I've made some research on google about her ... the correct name is Cait O'Riordan , but in the article on Wikipedia there's no reference to S Express ...it says she's been married to Elvis Costello too...I've seen some picture of her and I can say that she doesn't look much like the girl of S Express ... So I don't think they're the same person ...the mistery continues...:)))
i do not like u tube because the sound is waste. but here at this video for first time i can hear real high tones. tweeters. i am posting this because in 88 i didn't have any equipment.
haha, I remember this song from an old retro show on TV. Is the music even being played live? Some of the synth work actually looks real. I'm guessing the trumpets/girls are just there to make it look flashy?

Pretending to play a trumpet to a keyboard sample of a trumpet is pretty cringeworthy. Luckily he was holding it the right way round. Where do they hire these twats? I want that job.
Not true, some bands have insisted playing live on TOTP. Its not even a real trumpet sound he is miming to, its a noise created by a synth. I hate it when they hire models to pretend to play instruments. Having the talent to play an instrument is no longer needed to get on telly.
one of best moments in electronic music ever.

Could she be Linda Love ? Mark talks about her in an interview .... The two black singers should be Chilo (the tall one) and Michelle Ndrika ...

1988 was one of the best years of the 80's for music
personally its my fave year of the 80's for music!
groovychiken 4 years ago 3
88 was the year of the House music Boom
and nothing has been the same!
I heard, dance and loved all this music period,
we were like pioneers of a totally new way of party with a new phenomenon exploding all over the country with no barriers or limits of any kind
We made history while others just watched or 'heard' about the second summer of love the following year

innit27: It's the "Top of the Pops" show. Every band is forced to do playback, even if they could play their song live easily.

Always a bit awkward miming to samples.
The guy in the crowd dancing at 1.30 in white shirt and tie sort of ruins the coolness of it ahahaha.
