Doris Day sounds pretty good on your restored Philco. That is a very unique looking Philco. I like the rich looking front grill with the brass trim, and the radio on top, that is really different. I think you have real collectors item in excellent condition.
Thanks very much, I'm really enjoying this series! I have an old Canadian Philco system from the 1950's with a Garrard turntable that I hope to restore. Your photography and explanations will be a great help to me!
I recently aquired a DECCA stereo from a yard sale for 3$. It works, but the BSR needs some TLC. It has the same Ronette cartridge as your Philco. But it needs a needle, which costs more than I paid for the whole thing. It is also missing the flip over knob for the cartridge, I may just replace the whole thing (about 20$). Is it worth 25$ for a solid state stereo from the 60s? Back then it sold for about 80$ for the Radio Shack version in my '71 RS catalog. I wonder how much $ your Philco was?
Hi again Richard: You did well with the changer. If I lived closer I would bring you some records for your collection. Great sound!! Larry

Thanks for your comments great to get a response. It cost 99p (but I gave the guy £5.00 as I collected it in person and it was local)
