Because he want's to be on stage at some random hair show cutting a "once-only" client. He doesn't care that she will go home and hate her hair for the next year. I'm a hairdresser specializing in curly hair. By far the simplest, best for client, cutting techniques are by Deva Curl. None of that bozo sectioning crap. Why do people try their hardest to create something that is way worse than an original.
