@leunghkj different models, generally in gigabytes case the higher the number the better and more expensive the board, ud3=lowest model and cheapest, ud5=higher, ud7=even higher, ud9=highest, most expensive, most features
@Theairplaneguy4ever YES! it does since the ivy bridge CPU's are based on the 1155 socket which is the one used on my motherboard ;) and i dont think intel will change their minds about this in the near future :P
@Theairplaneguy4ever sry if what i said isnt true mate, i just heard that in multiple sites/videos and it seems plausible that it might work, but in the end im not quite sure. however, i figure , that some might work and others wont (obviously) sry for the wrong info if thats the case :)
@galaxiesaver i think that there is some bios update available that supports ivy bridge even without pci-e 3.0,but i went with a maximus IV gene-z saved the money and plan to SLi my gtx 560 ti hawk
@Theairplaneguy4ever very nice. asus makes top notch mobos too. btw, are u kiddin me or are you also plannning on getting 560 ti hawks in sli? because i planned on doing the same :D where talkin about MSI cards right? :D
@Theairplaneguy4ever i think i expressed myself a bit wrong. im planning on getting a completely new ystem with these cards looking something like this: Gigabyte Z68 UD5, i7 2600k , GTX 560 ti hawk (x2 if enough money), 8 gigs RAM etc....... im kind of ashamed of telling my current specs :P *GT140, E7400, 1TB HDD 4gigs ram...etc*
@galaxiesaver ashamed?i owned a 9600gt,im proud of it,cause it can still play some games with 30fps.i suggest though u go for a single gtx 580,that way u have much more expandability and get an SSD,i have 60gb agility 3 ssd.im waiting for my copy of windows 7 home premium.will get it by the next two days.so then i cany start gaming.ps:wuts ur case?
@Theairplaneguy4ever well the gt 140 is the 8600gt with a different name^^. i realy dont know because two gtx 560 ti are more powerfull then a single gtx 580 for the same price.i dont plan on investing on two gtx 580's tbh. im planning on getting the NZXT M59 provided the parts fit. btw did u know the GTX 560 ti HAwk is as powerfull as a reference GTX 570?
@galaxiesaver two gtx 560 ti hawks beat a single gtx 580.but.........u could get another 560 and run it as a dedicated physix card.more performance.as for the case, its alright but u could get somethin like a corsair 500r or cm elite 430.or a haf 912.and be sure to get an SSD.
@Theairplaneguy4ever yeah i can tell you for sure that a single GTX 560 Ti is WAY to expensive to only use as a physX card for me personally and i think its a bit of a waste^^ and yeah, alot of people are split sides about an SSD saying that it isnt realy worth it and most people i ask will tell me that it isnt worth the money (yet) since it is still relatively new to the market and the prices are very constant/stable for SSD's. It is new in the way that it is a completely new
idea and design. its not like a GPU for example that excists since the 80's and 90's but it only realy reached the marktet within the last 4 or 5 years. And to the case: i honestly is my case of choice due to the cool design :D
I'm wondering if those 4 USB ports on the back are actually 3.0 instead of 2.0 since all the boards I've seen so far denote the 3.0 spec by coloring them blue. Also by comparing the color of the 3x usb 2.0 to the header on the board I wonder if it is 3x power. Normally for Paul I'd just let this slide but I wanted to give him a heads-up since I enjoy his reviews. I honestly feel like he knows what he's doing, as opposed to most reviewers online. Thanks Newegg for feeding my tech habit. cheers.
..and who the fuck are you? I've already gotten the help I need anyway. And it pissed me off when some asshole that doesn't even know me calls me..names? Wanker..lol. You don't to help me? Don't fucking comment. Fuck you very much.
Today, I've decided to switch from Xbox 360 to PC, and I tell ya, today I was in my chair...the whole day. Mother fucker. I was in my chair the whole day because I was on my 2007 PC, gathering the stuff I need to build a very good gaming PC...it is expensive...no wonder why PC guys are so angry all the time.
So far I have on my list:
GPU, CPU, PSU, RAM, Cooling System, Motherboard, Case, Hard drive..
@vjdsjgc shut up wanker , nobody will help you when you begin your comment with mother fucker. Whats your problem? I mean, your question is ok, but I wont answer it.
@Meden042 Sry for late reply...Yes you can i have one on my UD7 version of this board. I recomment you take the board out first and install the v10 upside down on it thou, as its alittle bit of a pain in the arse.
@thekikoman1 duuuuudddeeee... beter quality board, Has "teaming" support aka dual RJ45 ports, "Tri" SLI/CrossF!!...Not crappy dual SLI/CrossF......A shit load more SATA ports.....TRUE 24 Phase Power Design, Not shitty 20 phase.....An d you get the "OverVoltage Control IC" for the best overclocking and stability.......... Simply put...This is the board you should get regardless, do not el-cheapo on the UD5.!!!!!
@tachi203 i dont wana spend more then 250$ on a motherboard . thx for your help :D btw i heard the asus P8Z68-V PRO is a good board but i didnt want it to get messy with the virtu shit ...
this might sound like a stupid question but im new to computers. does the release of z68 mean that intel is making new processors or that new mother boards are being made to add newer features to the existing processors?
I know some people are working like a charm even today with their Pentium 4, 3 GHz, HT processors. They churn the Linus Kernel code, run VMs, do simulations, heavy x264 encoding and so on. Point is no need to change/upgrade your PCs driven my so-called "Peer Pressure" madness :) It's simple. You know how much you could eat, isn't it? Similarly, you know about your PC pros/cons so use your wisdom to plan your investment. Alright, for today's demands, P55/i7-870 is more than enough :)
literally just found out about z68, i always find out late =\
but when i first heard of it, i thought it would be the upgrade to x58, like the p67 is to the p55, but its still on the 1155 exactly whats the advantage to these?
so sad u wanted a motherboad which support intel quick syinc as well external graph card... sadly this is not it... any other chip-set gonna come out?
Even I use more such as 16GB ones (4 x4GB - CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B) on my latest Asus P8P67 WS Revolution B3 board because I know what am supposed to do with so that RAM. And, not to mention my 2GB Graphics memory (use it mainly for Eyefinity mode, powering 3 x 27" LCDs). Point was, most users who run a single OS don't need beyond 4 GB good RAM. Hope am understood :)
Cool :D, but the MSI Z68A-GD80 (B3) motherboard supports onboard Graphics, but it depends on the CPU, also I'm Curious how much FPS will the i7 2600K will get
atlast a sandy-bridge board that not only allows you to overclock but also use the onboard graphics, not that i will use them much since i will most likely will leave most of my graphics load to my graphics card. but when i am not gaming, this is what i wanted.
kinda late specially since Bulldozer is just arround the corner and Sandy-Bridge is also having a very small lifespan, and the recall fiasco has only helped to shorten that chipset's lifespan.
I like the new hard drive pairing feature. Only one 16x pcie lane? My AMD crosshair IV can do two. AMD chipsets are nice. Can't wait for the new bulldozer :).
@lpjz290 no, these high end chipsets dont support onboard audio, because, obviously, anyone buying a motherboard like this, will be buying a graphics card :)
