C and C++ make up both operating systems. Obj-C is similar to C++, its cross platform but Cocoa makes it VERY powerful.

If anything, Mac is better supported for the pro than the normal consumer.

It's bad a BSOD means it's not working. Anyway, Mac doesn't (but can) have kernel panics, it just has single program crashes, which are rare, isolated and simple to deal with, you just click restart, ignore or report.

There were a few viruses for System 7 when Macs weren't even as popular as they are now. OS X is just not as virus prone.

That's not entirely true, the UNIX system is very secure, but the reason why there aren't many viruses is because of popularity, from a hacker's point of view, why would you get Macs, when there are more people using Windows?

Ok, if you were a hacker would you aim for Windows or Macs, if everyone would use macs then there would be many viruses for the UNIX system, it's based on usage, if hackers target Macs, they're not going to get much, but if hackers would concentrate on the UNIX system, then there would be more viruses, well the UNIX system is very good, because as you can see I use Linux, and it's way more secure. Well I'm not a fanboy, so I like all there OS's I'm just saying. I see your point.
