@1787dude i think the er-1 definitely has the most unique character but its character stems mainly from its sonic limitations. that said, i got mine a few months ago for $105 on ebay, so you really can't lose at that price.

do you know how I can stop my ER from sending Notes via midi? I just want it to send tempo and start/stop but don't want it to trigger notes. Thanks

yes, i have my er synced to my ea, er as the master. on the recieving box, set the midi to any channel above 9. the first 9 slots are dedicated to note data, and the rest is blank. i use 15 and 16 and have no problems. the only thing that gets transmitted is start and stop and tempo.
