Stalin was a brutal paranoid megalomaniac. He seems to have had only two emotions- fear, and its relief, usually through murder. He was one of those weird and ghoulish apparitions that sometimes appear- a being without a conscience. He appeared to have intelligence and certainly had strategic skills, but mostly relied upon others. He seemed to have cared for no one, not even his wife. I don't think he was human in any normal sense of the word.
1:56-2:04 that close picture of Stalin shows the scar he had on his face that came from the small-pox epidemic that he was exposed to when he was younger.
@gunnermac70, no, I think MicrowaveDisplaycom meant a Constitutional Republic, like the one our founding fathers created. A system of government, restrained by a constitution that protects the rights of the individual. Hitler created no bill of rights.
Microwave left out the 2nd part of that famous Benjamin Franklin quote, that someone else added many years later:
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote".
He has mentioned it.He did so In an earlier section when describing how Stalin put an end to the nationalist attempts of minorities within the Soviet Union to become independent Lenin declared that Stalin though from Georgia was a true Russian chauvinist.....

Stalin was truly one of the most evil men in history.

Stalin wasn't a racist, he hated everyboy.

In Ferguson's book Stalin left his native Georgians pretty much alone during his thirty rule of the U.S.S.R.

@ir5ac Why would Stalin be suspicious of all non-Russians in the U.S.S.R. when he was actually non-Russian himself?

Democracies and parliamentary systems are very dangerous!
As James Bovard said in his 1994 book, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner."
Germany was a parliamentary system under which the head of state (von Hinderburg) appointed Hitler head of government.
Give me a Constitutional republuc every time!

But Stalin himself was a Georgian! Why does Ferguson fail to mention this? It surely shows how messed up the "Man of Steel" truly was!!!

He mentioned it in an earlier episode whre Stalin was in charge of minorities.

@RavingCelt009 he mentioned it several times, watch it again.

@RavingCelt009 He left his fellow Georgians alone, free from persecutions according to Niall Ferguson.
