  • Sorry, ultimategrid, it is YOU who doesn't know what he or she is talking about... ARGENTINE TEGUS eat more fruit and vegetation in their natural environment... That information is according to herpetologists who have studied them in their natural environment in Argentina.... Do your home work... Do the research...... COLUMBIAN TEGUS eat a higher diet of meat.....

  • @debskel1

Uh that's what I said. They don't eat that much vegetable, they prefer meat. I'm osrry if I worded my comment wrong or something, but I meant to imply they eat mostly meat. Mine prefer this, and my buddies prefer it as well.

  • @debskel1

Oh shit sorry if this sounds stupid but I just remembered my Tegus are hybrids with, I believe a blue Tegu or something, and they require more meat, sorry if I bothered you with my comment.

  • My buddies Tegu killed his kitten. XP

  • YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!! YOUR TANK SET UP IS IMPROPER, ARGENTINES HAVE A DIET THAT CONSISTS OF 85 PERCENT VEGETATION AND FRUIT, THEN MEATS, AND YOUR SUBSTRATE CAN HAVE PARASITES IF YOU USE ANYTHING THAT HAS NOT BEEN TREATED!! THEY NEED UVB AND THE HIGHEST TEMP IS 110 MAX.....

  • @debskel1

You don't know what you're talking about. Tegus don't need that much vegetable.

  • how much u got him for

  • they need UVB all their life you muppet, that setup is also wack

  • you shouldnt be giving a care video you have a incorrect setup... he needs a bigger cage

med. rats are too big for a adult tegu you should stick with smalls

did you clean the wood ? if not he could have parasites

they need UVB all theyre life

i dont have one and i take better care of them :P

  • how much are they

  • can mice be a staple diet? and how many and often would you feed them mice if yes.

  • @LeopardGeckoFry no you need to feed them all the other things he mentioned, crickets, locusts, raw meat inculding organs

  • @tomwilson88 even as adult, i just see crickets being too small for the adults.

how long do they get as adults?

  • @LeopardGeckoFry ever seen a fully grown locust they're huge i'm not sure how big but i've been told around 3 foot might be wrong. you need to give them a stable diet and in the wild they take watever they can bugs, dead animals, rodents. you

can feed them mice but not as a stable diet they need lots of different food

  • @tomwilson88 ok, thanks for all your help.

  • @LeopardGeckoFry thats ok dude nice talking to ya

  • can mice be a staple diet?

  • nice video =D

    and beautifull tegu and tail

  • lol welshtracuer

  • are they mean, do you have to tame them like iguanas :/

  • no actually they have really good tempers. with every lizzard you do have to tame and work with for them to know who you are and trust you. but there very easy to tame. deff not like iguanas.

  • where can i buy an argentine tegu for under $100 and good condition?

  • check kingsnake classifieds. remember though, you get what you pay for

  • @Sh4rpSh0ot3r lol nice try doing that i live in candada and thair 250 lolol

  • you can try the reptile expo but argentines are expensive and go over 100. i dont think youll find a perfect condition argentine for less than 100 and if u do thats extreamly rare

  • i want one but which type is the best to get and i dont have tons to spend

  • cool tegu

  • fruits and veg as well. You got some information wrong, try and research a bit more. Try signing up for tegu talk forum. You also need UVB lights. A zoo med powersun is your best bet. Be careful with things from outside, they might give your tegu parisites.

  • do argentine b+w need the same care as columbian? becuase im thinking of geting a columbian :)

  • Get an Argentine..They are much nicer :)

  • columbians r fuckin agrasive

  • @analjajemo no there not qatch my vids mines black and gold columbian

  • dang man. leave the kid alone. instead ff say ing " you suck!" try helping him out.

  • please take this video down you temps suck and its all wrong.

  • Poor little guy

  • your information is very wrong.

    Basking is 100f

    Warm side 85-90f

    At night 70-80f

Your substrate and wood from outside will create mold and the wood could have bugs.

You need to clean his water more to it was very dirty.

I never saw any heat lamps on his tank.

  • this care video sucks. Alot of this info is completely false.

  • leave the care videos up to the pro's your info sucks.

plus make sure that cypress mulch was pure and not mix.

  • hes not a hatchling hes too big for his cage there.

  • Wow a white head!Amazing!

  • i had no idea until a couple of sheds he was one of the darkest tegus i have ever seen now hes really white

  • sometimes there called chocaon

  • chacoan
